Wings
Hey
I know I'm supposed to be working on my GTOP story "Maybe You're Gay" but...
I was inspired by The Awakening by Kate Chopin.
This is what I have so far...
Wings

“Ri, honey? I’m home!”
I sighed, but continued to stare at the ceiling. I studied the white surface above me. I examined the texture of the cement and paint. I looked over the subtle patterns the dust made.
Yun Ji had decorated our room with classy, modern paintings, a large, dark wood dresser, with side tables to match. The walls were all white, along with our matress, sheets, comforter, and pillows. There were a few stuffed animals by the window that Yun Ji had put up to give our room a “friendlier” and “cuter” feeling. Or at least that’s what she said.
The room was large; at least eighteen feet by sixteen feet. The ceiling was about ten feet high. If I was in such a spacious enviorment, then why did I feel so trapped? Why did I feel suffocated?
The door opened, but I didn’t bother to turn my head. “Lee Seunghyun!” Yun Ji mock scolded me. “There you are!”
I didn’t reply. What did she want me to say? Here I am! Was that it? You found me! Would she prefer that?
There was a dip on the bed. A thin arm curled around my waist. “Seunghyun, is something wrong?”
I looked down at her. Yun Ji was considered a beauty. She had full, pink lips and large, innocent eyes. Her heart-shapped head was decorated with light-brown hair that went till around her shoulder blades. As for her figure, she wasn’t exactly curvy, but she wasn’t a flat-chested stick either. Her legs and arms were slender. All in all, any man would be deemed a fool if he didn’t find her somewhat attractive.
Was I a fool then?
“Seungri?” she moved her hand to my face, and made me look at her.
I opened my eyes. “I guess I’m not feeling well. No need to worry.”
She rolled her eyes in good nature. “Ri, we’ve been married for three years now. I think I know when something is bothering you.”
I smiled sadly. Three years.
“I’m going to make dinner now, okay?” Yun Ji whispered and lightly kissed my cheek. I mearly nodded. She left and closed the door.
I sighed again and let my thoughts drift back to the events of last night...
“Damn, Dae! This place is great!” I grinned and patted my best friend, Kang Daesung, on the back.
He flashed me his famous grin. “I told you!”
We were at a new night club called “Big Bang”. Today was the opening night. There were lights flashing brightly and the ground was almost shaking from the heavy electro-hip hop beat. There was a tall booth for a DJ and a few platforms for daring individuals- or people just drunk out of their mind- to dance on in front of everyone. The bar was amazing. It was circular and in the middle of the main dance floor, and surrounded a small fountain.
I laughed and took a swing of beer that I grabbed from the bar.
“Thanks for bringing me here, man!” I shouted over to Daesung.
He nodded and took a sip of what seemed to be an American Martini. “No problem! You’ve seemed kinda down lately!”
I shrugged and drank from the crude bottle again. We stayed in silence for a while. Or, as silent as it could be with blasting music. I was looking at the swarm of dancing bodies.
