Personality:
Soo Yeon is considered a very kind and sweet person. She cares for everyone else before her all the time, she is, what you could call, the mother of the group, because she is always taking care of the members and worrying too much.
Character/Family Background:
Soo Yeon was born in Ulsan and she lived there for about 4 years. She moved to Peterborough because that's where her mother was from, even though she was korean. But why moving only with her mother? She moved from Korea because her father died in a car crash and her mother couldn't stand living in the same place, so they went to England. It was kind of easy for Soo Yeon to adapt because her mother had been teaching her english since she was about one year old. After about a year of living in Peterborough, Soo Yeon's mother remarried with a british man, apparently he was a past lover and they had gotten back together, since they were both still young, they had a child together, Soo Yeon's younger brother. She decided to go back to Korea to study High School, and since her passion had always been singing, she decided to audition to SM just for fun. She got very surprised when she was accepted into the company.
Because of training and debuting soon, Soo Yeon hasn't been able to visit her family at England so she gets kind of sad sometimes, but she does talk a lot to them via phone calls and video calls, so she can survive without being depressed.

How did you meet? They met when Soo Yeon was staying late at the practice room because she just couldn't get the steps right, Lay was passing by and saw her struggling, since all the trainees were learning the same steps, he decided to help. It was kind of awkward and difficult because Lay couldn't speak Korean so fluently and Soo Yeon didn't understand Mandarin at all. Lay continously helped her with her dancing even thought they didn't understand each other much. They became very good friends, now Lay knows more korean so they talk way more, also, Soo Yeon started taking Mandarin lessons because she wanted to understand Lay more, but he doesn't know that. He also doesn't know that she has a crush on him since a long time ago.
