AFF...what is it to you?
I guess you all have heard what has been happening with our site, the developer, Jason, and the lawsuits. I just want to say that I know that this site is important for everyone. I know everyone is against shutting this site down and I don't think that the lawsuits are enough for it to not exist anymore. We should prevent that from happening. It shouldn't be that way. It's not our developer's fault so we must at least show our support for him... stupid kids who read rated material! ugh! you !
Asianfanfics, what is it to you?
For some, it serves as an escape route from the harshness of the real world. It might sound sappy, but in actuality, this site provides happiness, if only momentary, to those that seek comfort. To some, it is a way for them to connect with other people whom they could identify with more than we could in the real world. We’ve all created a network based on the things that interest us and matters in life that we’ve shared to both friends and subscribers, truth or not. We might be hiding behind pseudonyms, but everything’s as real as it could get.
Ultimately, it is a training ground for aspiring writers like myself. Writers for this site write without minding the inexistent profit. It’s not even about the number of subscribers or the karma. The writers write both to give joy and find satisfaction in the appreciation of the people for their stories. As far as I know, some people here write stories that relate to their real lives and through that, they impart a piece of themselves to their readers. It might be that some just think of it as a place where we could all fulfill our fan fantasies, but in truth, it is more than that. It has always been more than that.
I think that’s how everyone sees Asianfanfics – an outlet for frustrations, an escape route from the ironically surreal reality, a web of human networks and an INSPIRATION. To Jason, thank you so much for creating AFF for everyone. KUDOS TO YOU~!^^
