Background: Missy had always had a strong passion for the stage and her parents always encouraged her to audition and perform. Being an only child, her parents spoiled her and she developed a love of dressing tomboyish. She was always interested in dancing and began to get an interest of singing from watching Korean artists on music shows. Even though she was living in America, she still loved Korean music more than American. From those influences, she started to audition for companies and got rejected by JYP though SM accepted her when she was 12. She trained with SM for 5 years and did further training on singing. She often gets homesick though she feels that it is worth it to get to her dreams. She has great pronounciation with English though she struggles with Korean.
