Appearance

HyunJung has an oval-shaped face with small dainty nose and big brown eyes. She reveals her "eye-smile" whenever she smiles or laughs. Her pale porcelain skin glows when hit by sunlight and it shows off her pinkish cheeks. Her black and long wavy hair frames her face perfectly. She has one piercing on each side of her ears and she always wear a pair of star-shaped earrings

Style

HyunJung likes comfortable and casual wear. She does not like to wear dress unless she is forced to for special events. Even so, she is still pretty unwilling to wear one as she could not afford to get herself a nice dress, which will only cause herself to get mocked by those rich kids in her school. That is why she only has one dress in her closet, which is given to her as a gift by her bestfriend. Beanies are also one of her favourite accessories but due to her financial constraint, she only has a blue beanie which she treasures the most as it was hand-made by her late mother.

Personality

HyunJung was a hyper and lovable young girl before her mother pass away. She became distant from outsiders since then as she was always drowned in her own world of studying. She did not like people to disturb her when she is studying as she is scared that she might not be able to focus. However, she will not blame or start a fight with the person as she does not like to get into an argument. She does not take the initiative to talk to others unless they are the ones who started a conversation with her. She wants to go back to the HyunJung who was sociable and friendly, whom had a jovial character, who smiles always despite her problems. Even if she wanted to do that badly, she could not get herself to return back to the old HyunJung again after she lost her mother and all the problems she encounter in her life. HyunJung believes that her mother is always beside her. Whenever she is met with a problem, she likes to say out her problem when she is alone even if she knows she will not get any replies. She misses her mother dearly.

HyunJung has a kind and forgiving nature. She will not take things to heart and she will forgive and forget people's mistakes easily, even if she might not like it. She does not hate, she just dislike how the other students in school treat her. She feels uncomfortable around them. Despite people treating her badly in school, HyunJung will act as if nothing happened when she reached home as she do not want her father to worry about her. Even though her schoolmates treated her like trash, she will still agree almost immediately when they ask her for help. This is also a reason why she became the victim of the school bullies, especially her step-sister as they study in the same school.

She likes to go to the airport when she has free time as she can find many different kinds of people there; people of different nationalities, races and ages. One of the things she likes to do is to observe people. She finds it interesting when observing people. From their appearance, to their actions, she was amused by all different kinds of people she can find there. Sometimes, she will also try to guess what those people are thinking. HyunJung also thinks that airport is a good place to capture nice photographs. People's tears of sadness due to separation and tears of joy due to reunions are worth for good photos. HyunJung writes songs as her hobby. She enjoys writing songs as she can express herself freely in there. She usually writes about her own experiences and feelings about her surroundings. She is also active in sports. These are some activities she does to relief her stress.

Her dream is to see HyunJung achieve success in the near future. HyunJung stills loves her mother a lot despite the scoldings she would get from her. However, she was also a caring and loving mother to HyunJung. She will try to give HyunJung everything she wanted despite their financial problems. HwaKyung passed away due to cancer when HyunJung was 12. |

Step-mother | Kim WonJi | 42 | Laundry Washer | Alive | Mean and harsh. | She does not like HyunJung. She always sees HyunJung as a threat to get her husband's love. So, she tried many ways break her husband's trust to HyunJung so as to get rid of her. She treats HyunJung nicely only in front of her husband to get his trust.

Step-sister | Park MinEun | 18 | Student | Alive | Straight-forward, mean and harsh. | Like her mother, she does not like HyunJung. She always gets HyunJung into trouble be it in school or at home. She will only try to be nice to HyunJung when their father is around. She also wants to make HyunJung's life miserable and she likes to compete with HyunJung for everything, from their grades to even love.

Step-brother | Park WooJin | 19 | Student | Alive | Nice and caring, smart, understanding. | He is different from his mother and sister. He is the only one whom HyunJung likes among her three new family members as he treats her sincerely. He sometimes stands up for HyunJung when she was mistreated by his mother and sister. He takes care of HyunJung as if she is his biological sister. He does not even treat his sister as nicely as HyunJung because he dislikes the way she is doing things.

Family Background

HyunJung is born as an only child. Although her family is not as rich and they do not live in a big mansion, neither do they have the wealth to buy the things that they desire, they are contented with what they have. They are happy that they are healthy and living together as a happy little family even in a small house. They have no worries as long as they are together. However, these all came to an end when they found out about her mother's illness. She was contracted with cancer 7 years ago. When she was fighting the disease for the last 2 years of her life, HyunJung stayed beside her throughout her whole stay in hospital until the day she passed away. She was really sad when sheknew that she could not fulfil her mother's dream of seeing her being successful in the future and the fact that her mother will not be by her side anymore. From then on, she studied really hard to make her mother proud which she really did when she got accepted into this prestigious school she is studying in now through a scholarship. However, the scholarship does not include lodging, thus she chose to stay

at home as she does not have ample money for dormitory in school.

Three years after her mother's death, which was when HyunJung was 15, her father remarried another woman. HyunJung disliked the woman as she felt that her mother was being replaced. For the first time, she quarrelled with her father when he told her his decision of wanting to get married to the woman. However, when she saw how happy her father was when he was with the woman, she agreed to their marriage since the woman was also nice to her father and her. Things turned 360 degrees around after her father was married to her new mother. Her new mother's attitude towards her changed as she was jealous that her husband was treating HyunJung better than her two children and herself. She started to be harsh to her and always demands HyunJung to run errands for her. She has her own laundry shop, W.J Laundry Service, located near the siblings' school. HyunJung and WooJin always help out at the shop after her lessons while MinEun will stay at home or hang out with her friends. She will always take money from her mother's shop without informing her, making HyunJung her scapegoat. HyunJung always got scolded by her step-mother even for the smallest mistakes she makes like spilling water on the ground or when she comes late for work.

HyunJung felt like she is a nobody at home after her new family members entered her life. She dislike going home and she hopes that time can be rewinded and go back to their small little family consisting of only her father, her mother and herself.
