The Hobbit - Minicourse Play - Finally Over

It's finally over!

TIME TO ING CELEBRATE THE END OF HELL!

But we did that at the cast and crew party.

Just Dance, anyone?

Striking the set begins in less than twelve hours.

It may continue tomorrow.

I might get to destroy something.

But the two shows weren't happy at first.

On Friday night, things started to get bad about two hours before the show.

My one friend started having a panic attack because she hadn't taken her anxiety meds in a couple days and we were all under a lot of stress.

She tore apart two stress balls.

My maknae hadn't taken her stomach meds in a few days, so she went and threw up.

But that wasn't the end of it.

I got a little hysterical and almost lost control.

Then the panicking friend went and threw up.

I didn't know that until I had gotten to my place in the sound/lights/etc. booth.

My maknae was there as well.

She had her headset on and was hunched over the lights board and countertop.

She was blinking and occasionally twitching her hands.

I talked to her and she wouldn't respond at all.

I put my hand on her shoulder and spoke a little louder - still no reponse.

My friend came back and I explained what was going on, so she talked to my maknae.

She didn't reply at all, not even a nod of the head or a little wave of the hand.

My mom showed up.

My friend went and explained the situation, and my mom came into the booth.

She's a doctor, so she somehow got my maknae to talk a little.

My maknae started sobbing, then spoke some more.

The director and my mom talked about the situation.

My mom was assigned to the booth.

My maknae was a little shaky with her speech at first - partial sentences, some difficulty with vocabulary.

But she still did lights for the show and was fine by the end of it.

She doesn't remember what happened, but that's really okay.

It was just absolutely terrifying.

And half the reason my maknae and our friend were like that was because of the we look up to and expect to give at least some good guidance and advice.

The three of us are pretty pissed at her.

She basically said that panic attacks are a choice.

She said a lot of things, and made the two of them worse off than they already were.

But whatever.

It's all over now.

And I can't wait to get out of school on Wednesday.
