Kpop review: Myname's "Hello & Goodbye"

Today, I'm gonna review Myname's "Hello & Goodbye".

Now overall, I totally loved this song, but I was a bit disturbed.. No, I'm not going to spill the beans, but I might in a minute.

So, about the video, it kind of frustrating to understand what's going on, yet it disturbs me.. just a little... Anyway, in the beginning, it seems like Gunwoo is walking to his car all bloody and stuff. Basically, it's like reading a book and it wants to catch your attention by letting you read a mysterious quote. Then, it leads up to a back story where Gunwoo is talking to one of his co-workers, or boss, and when he turns his head to see a pretty girl.

Side note: I know this will sound really stupid, but I swear, when a guys sees a pretty girl, their minds are like, 'Oh! Pretty girl! Gonna ask her out cuz she's mine~ hehe!' Guys, I need you to be stronger than that! And control your hormones! PLEASE!

Okay, back to the video, after he spots her, she sees him and walks over. However, she sits on the couch instead of actually walking over to him and standing by his side. Now, I don't know what that other guy's problem is, but I might as well go with the fact that he is jealous. Only because of these three facts.

  1. She smiles at Gunwoo (or more than likely to herself) after he introduces himself to her.
  2. I bet he went to the upstairs bathroom, so when he came downstairs to chat some more with his "boss" (if it even is his boss..), the girl puts her leg out, and stops him from going anywhere else. He looks up at her, but then she steps closer to his ear and she's probably whispering something seductive into his ear. However, if that were me, being the klutzy girl I am, I would have tripped, fallen, and been in pain because of the idiot who was stupid enough to stretch his leg out and try to stop me. I would have yelled at him, telling him that I want to go home or to a hospital because his stupid action.
  3. She wants to dance with him on the dance floor.

Not only that, but she holds his hand and tries to sleep on his shoulder. Once his boss sees that, he looks away disappointed and jealous. So, he ends up a crazy man and plans on killing one of them because in the next few scenes, Gunwoo turns off his car, and thinks how he's going to ask her out along with a bouquet of flowers. However, when he enters the place, he surprised to see his crazy boss. Then, it turns into this epic battle between Gunwoo and his henchmen! MUAHAHAHAHA! Suddenly, when comes down to one henchman, Gunwoo's pointing a gun at his crazy boss! HOWEVER! He's a pointing a gun at the girl!

Now, at first I thought they were just gonna point guns at each other and wait until someone shoots first. Instead, the henchman attempted to attack Gunwoo, and got shot while the girl got shot in the heart. As if his world came crashing down, he runs over to her as if he could somehow safe her, but he also gets shot, but not in the heart.

Okay, so, let's compare this to the other scene where he has cuts and bruises and blood just all over his body. So, I just wonder, how in H311 is he still alive with all those wounds. I don't know, so I guess it remains a mystery...

As for the dancing, I give it 100 points out of 100. It was because of the small dance break around 1:52 that gave the dancing that Wow factor. It was amazing and I loved it. Also, I love their hair and clothing styles. The one that I really like was Chaejin's style because in my mind, it looks like it really suits him. Plus, it's really pretty on him.

As for the English, I give it an 80 points out of 100. Now here's a list of all the English phrases.

  • Hello & Goodbye
  • Wanna back to me
  • Want you back
  • Need you baby
  • I don't wanna back to me
  • Think about me girl, but I don't think about you girl
  • Somebody tell me, but you girl
  • You are my girl
  • I promise you, I'll give up to you my girl
  • Only you, my love is you
  • Baby please say good bye, say good bye
  • Say goodbye

Okay, let's begin with "Wanna back to me". How does that even make any sense whatsoever? I would think they would have say "Wanna come back to me", but they didn't say it, so faulty English phrase. As for "I don't wanna back to me", I, at first, thought they were saying "I don't want her back to me", in which it would make sense if you put "come" in between "her" and "back".

"Think about me, but I don't think about you" - wouldn't it make logical sense that if she's thinking of you, you must thinking of her. Unless you're a stupid 4$$ playboy, then you [the playboys] can just go ahead and think about all day, if you want.

"Somebody tell me, but you girl" - it makes sense, but putting "girl" at the end just makes it sound weird. Well, to me, at least.

"I promise you, I'll give you up to you my girl" - let me tell you something. IT. MAKES. NO. SENSE. Okay, I understand "I promise you", but "I'll give you up to you my girl"? That makes no 60D D4M% sense because I have no idea what that means. Does he mean he'll make it up to me? I honestly have no clue..

Well, that was my review for the day! There is a link here if you haven't seen the video yet.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0tBpo6_7Xg
