She is the goody two shoes that doesn't know the meaning of being a bad girl. She gets pushed around and gets used often. She was raised in a wealthy family. Both her parents were born and raised in South Korea but moved to Australia when they got a job there. Her parents are both lawyers for a large company. She is the youngest of two childern, her older brother is CNblue's Kang MinHyuk. She was born and raised in Australia while her brother was born and raised in South Korea, he was raised by her grandparents. Her grandparents refused to let her parents take Minhyuk with them when they went to Australia so MinHyuk and MinJae didn't meet until she was 14.

Trainee story:
She was at a cafe buying a drink when she bumped into L, spilling her drink on him. He demanded her to give him money to wash his clothes but she didn't have any. In the shopping center in front of the cafe there was a dance competition and there was a prize for the winner, $100. He forced her to enter the competition and she did. She didn't want to dance in front of everyone when it was her turn but L pushed her on to the stage. She started to dance ballet to an RnB song, and in the end won first place. An SM scout was there to watch the competition and saw her performance. He saw her talent asked her to audition to become a trainee. Her parents refused to let her audition but her older brother managed to convince them to let her try. Her parents let her audition in hopes of her not making the cut, but she pasted to audition and became a trainee.
