IU Releases Teaser for "Peach"

After revealing concept pictures yesterday, a one and a half minute long video teaser for IU's "Peach" was released today on LOEN's YouTube channel.  

Instead of releasing music videos as usual, her agency has announced that they will be making a short music movie to portray the full sentiment, emotions, and story of the music that IU wants to bring to her fans. This film will be in the form of mockumentary, documenting private stories and life of IU. She will talk about entering her 20s, her opinions on love and career, and reveal more of her real self through a series of conversations in this film. 

Her new single album, "The Spring of a Twenty Year Old" is set to be released on May 11. In the teaser we can see her playing a guitar and trying to write a song. 

"Peach" was written IU and is described as having a lovable feeling. The lyrics portray the loving emotions felt when looking at one's lover. The recorder and triangle sounds, performed by IU herself, add to the girly sentiments of the song.

                                  IU's New Single "Peach" Achieves All-Kill Status

IU's melting the hearts of uncle fans' hearts with the new single "Peach." Prior to the official release of a new single album "The Spring of Twenty," IU released "Peach" online on May 4. As soon as the song was release, it topped all online music charts.  

"Peach" portrays smitten young love with acoustic sounds and simple lyrics. The song sings about a young girl's fluttered heart, which makes it harder to even look at the person she loves so much. IU's quiet and yet determined voice, along with the calming melody, makes it sound as if she is really trying to confess her love through this song. IU played the recorder and triangle in this song, adding girly sensitivity to the song. 

The word "Peach" is IU's favorite word, as well as her favorite fruit. She explained that she wants to be called "Peach" by someone she loves, because she thinks the word gives a feel-good vibe in one's through when pronounced. Producer Cho Young Chul jokingly commented on IU's love-filled attachment to the song and the word, "Is IU in love or something?" when he revealed the music video teaser on May 3. 

The song "Peach" is not only getting continuous praises from her uncle fans, but also from the general music fans and critics. Fans commented, "IU's driving me crazy," "The acoustic sound with IU's voice, the best it can get!" and "She's transformed into a singer-songwriter."

Although IU released a new song in six months, she will not be making any TV appearances. Instead, she is solely focusing on her upcoming concert tour. In June, IU will begin her first concert tour "Real Fantasy"  in six cities, starting on June 2 in Seoul. 

                                                              IU Reveals Concept Photo for Upcoming Album

Days after announcing a new single album, IU has revealed a new concept photo for the album.

The producer for this album, Jo Yeong Cho, posted on his Twitter account and shared this photo. In his tweet, he said “IU’s last song was of ‘gloomy IU’, but the latest song ‘Jieun with her fluttering heart.’ It is a sweet and more private tune. Is she seeing someone…?”

IU looks young and vibrant in the photo. The concept and her producer’s tweet is sure to excite fans on what IU will be unveiling this month.

 “The Spring of Twenty,” IU’s new single album, is set to drop on May 11. Before the full album will be released, IU will unveil the song that she penned especially for this album on May 4. Aside from preparations for this single, IU is also getting ready for her first solo concert, “Real Fantasy,” next month.
