Korean Hana Kimi will be given the title 'To the Beautiful You', with the lead roles to be given to SHINee's Minho and f(x)'s Sulli.

As an avid fan of the past versions of Hana Kimi, the Japanese version has always been an all time favorite. I love it more than Boys Over Flowers and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. My expectations for the production of this show is very high. The past versions are a hit. I have predicted and saw the potential of Minho to be the lead role since he has the physique of the lead role (Sano, in the Japanese), which is a high jumper and has a cold personality.

The female lead role is really what gives the netizens a buzz. My guesses have included Taeyeon (because she looks good in short hair), Yoona (one of the public's favorite and has acting experience), Sooyoung (she could probably pull it off), Krystal (she can do it and if Yoona and Yuri can look good as guys, I bet their lovechild look alike could also pull off the man look), Sulli (young, popular and has acting experience) and the most obvious pick of everyone, Amber (with her tomboyish looks).

Probably, others, like me, would have gone for somene like Amber of Sooyoung or I'm just being biased. Earlier, the news of the lead roles came out with the predicted Minho and the not-so-surprising-yet-I-still am-chosen lead, Sulli. I'm not really sure if Sulli could pull off the look. Sure, the acting has no problem, but let's face it, it's not just the acting that needs to work out. Ella Chen and Horikita Maki had to chop off their hair for the role. I can't imagine Sulli chopping her hair. Though there are wigs, it won't be that amazing if she kept her real hair under a fake one.

Reading the comments on Allkpop, I find it funny how you see two sides about Sulli getting the role and not Amber, one is the side that wants Amber to get the lead and the other defending why Sulli should be a better option. They said Amber has no ability to act and that her Korean is not that good while Sulli is experienced in the acting field. I wonder how will Amber have this 'acting experience' when she really doesn't have unless SME will really give her. I think those people who says that it's because her Korean isn't good are stupid. Donghae and Siwon filmed Skip Beat using Korean, not Taiwanese, but it doesn't mean that they don't study the language. Amber can practice Korean. The language is pretty easy to learn and I have no formal lessons regarding it. She probably has, so doesn't it make it easy for her? Also, acting can be learned. Suzy learned to act while she was in Dream High. Can't Amber do it? It's not that I think Sulli can't do it. I just think that her 'image' doesn't suit the role. On the bright side, it's a turning point and time for her to strip away from that aegyo and cute image that she's been doing since their debut.

Since SME had made their statements regarding the lead, I'll just wait for the announcements for the supporting roles. I would love to see who would get the roles of the dorm leaders (I want Leeteuk to be their Dorm Leader! :D Kangin for the leader of the dorm of the martial artists, which is is Dorm 1), the gay doctor (My Heechul would have fit this role, but he's at service~ T.T), the creepy guy who sees ghosts (Yesung, no doubt, should have do this), Hibari 4 (though I initially wanted the girls of SNSD to be here, I think Krystal would fit as their leader but they'll lack one member because they're 5, despite having the name) and of course Nakatsu (I love this guy! I love how he imagines Mizuki in a dress and thinks he's crazy and gay~ XD). Lastly, I hope even at least one Exo member would be here, even if just one of their idiotic dorm mates.

P.S. I wanted to see Amber in a dress, but I don't think I can imagine her to be kissed by Minho... But I can't also imagine another guy, who would play Nakatsu, kiss Minho. That is if SME will do that scene. Probably not. Boo~
