the bottom rankings i'm okay with, except you sure donghae is that high up? hahaha. sungmin is deserving of number four-except i don't like his tonal quality too much but that's ok. personally i think kangin is a better singer than donghae, heechul should be moved up a few ranks and HAHAHA FOREVER AT SIWON BEING NUMBER EIGHT

 

moving on to k.r.y... man these three boys. it will forever be difficult to rank them and clearly the youtube comments don't agree with the ranking but i do! yesung comes out tops , even amongst k.r.y. themselves. i like kyuhyun's tonal quality the best in k.r.y. but yesung outranks both cho and kim simply because he is very all rounded. he is very emotive, has great range and control and breath control. sometimes kyuhyun can get breathy (very occasionally) and ryeowook goes off (very very very occasionally) but yesung never seems to make the same mistakes. ok i think he does but they really are negligible. he is one of the best, if not the best, male singers that sm has ever gotten themselves. 

 

you know what the hardest thing in the world is? to see food in front of you and decide whether to eat one or the other. to eat cho or kim. i mean, to decide who to rank above the other. honestly though my ryeowook bias does not come into play at all because it's already hard enough to decide if i like his or kyuhyun's voice better. but honestly ranking ryeowook at number two is very accurate. kyuhyun's vocal quality and range is much more pleasant to the ear, and ryeowook's belongs to the higher, clearer sort that needs some time to get used to. also kyuhyun's range is easier to master and control, and ryeowook's is just a lot higher, his pitches. to be able to sing so strongly and have so much control over such a high range-ryeowook definitely deserves second place. actually his and dana's voice are a lot similar-they're not very resonant nor with too much depth (unlike kyuhyun or say, lina's), but they are so much harder to control and the amount of precision these two have over their voices is incredible. before sm decided to milk kyuhyun for what he was worth by making him sing all the bgm of their songs, anybody could tell that ryeowook was/is the one with the best stamina in sj because he practically sang EVERYTHING you could hear his voice in the background EVERY SINGLE THING THEY RELEASED. and he sang it all live. in a nutshell: ryeowook is incredible.

 

kyuhyun's tonal quality and range is God's greatest gift to him (apart from his height and tiny waist). his voice is so clean-i cannot even begin to describe his voice quality. it's fantastic, more so than either ryeowook's or yesung's, and he makes every song he sings his own because of this tonal quality. the best thing about k.r.y. is the striking difference in their voice qualities-you can tell instantly if it's yesung, ryeowook, or kyuhyun singing because their voices are so different. kyuhyun uses this vocal quality to his advantage, to the most actually, when he is doing covers. which is why his stint on immortal song was incredible-because he made every cover his. this is his best asset. but like it has been said before, he doesn't have too much emotion when he is singing. i get that it's hard to put emotion into a song like mr. simple or sorry sorry, but somehow yesung and ryeowook manage to do it so brownie points for them. i think that reaching those notes are so easy for him (easier than it is for yesung or ryeowook, idk but somehow their songs always seem written for kyuhyun's exact range hmm) so he kind of slacks in the details department. this has always been a problem for him, but when he puts his heart into it (like during immortal song or his covers in taiwan) he really shines. for now ryeowook's delicacy for details and yesung's raw emotions win over him, so he is number three for now. 

 

though i want a k.r.y. album and then all of them can do really good in their own way or another. hahaha.
