  Personality:

Nam Hyun is an introvert. He hates to be the center of attention, but he rarely if ever has to worry about that because he does nothing to draw attention. While he is very quiet, he is not completely mute. He can and will talk when he has to get his point across and he does so very bluntly – unafraid to be concise and to the point, no matter how it’s interpreted.  He is gentle and sweet to as far a point as he can be. He is an attentive listener, which would probably be expected as he rarely is the speaking party in a conversation.

 He’s horrible at relaying his emotions into words, which he sees as a bit ironic at times as he can perfectly understand the emotions of those around him. Nam Hyun gets a bit intimidated by overwhelmingly bubbly or outgoing people, being the complete opposite of that, however he never backs down for any reason.

He does not tend to think about one thing for too long, almost sporadic in the sense that he can switch over from one subject to the next. He has a very short attention span when things do not intrigue him, however when his interest is snagged he can pay very close attention. Nam Hyun tends to notice details that others often overlook.

He’s a fairly patient person, however when someone finally does cause him to snap, he can be a bit devious. He still remains quiet, no matter how angry he is, however he could be secretly plotting someone’s demise without them even knowing it.

Naïve would be a good word to describe him, as he is stubborn to grasp things he doesn’t want to believe are true. He’s not the type to get into trouble; however he isn’t that great at getting out of it either. He is an awful liar, however is not bad at keeping secrets if he believes that they have the need to be protected.

He is more or less the same than he was in the past before he was changed into a vampire. He has grown more calm and serene over the years, and is less tense when he does have to socially interact. Despite this, he is a very impulsive person and will often act on instinct rather than contemplating the repercussions of his actions. For those that he trusts openly and is close to, he can be protective to where he will act out very irrationally.

 

  Background: 

Shin Nam Hyun was the youngest of four brothers. He was constantly the target of his hyungs, as he was a very small boy. He was never able to put up any resistance towards them, as the three constantly ganged up on him. He could not even touch them, let alone protect himself. His parents were distant and did not pay attention to Nam Hyun as they saw him to be weak and the least likely to live up to their family’s legacy. He was given very few privileges while he watched his brothers roam about and do whatever they pleased. He struggled to show all of his family his worth, spending long hours into the night trying to excel further than any of his siblings. He was never the athletic type, as he was too slight to even hold his own, however he caught on fairly quickly when it came to academics. He’d often sneak into the library and read volume upon volume of his father’s elevated books – studying such complex things as law and medicine.

However, Nam Hyun grew ill as he progressed into his teenage years. His parents, who had never had faith in him anyway, saw this as their proof that he was too fragile to do anything beneficial. He had to drop out of school he got so sick and he believed that he would never be able to show his parents that he was, in fact, not a disgrace. As he had been incredibly neglected as a child, and the only kind of attention he ever received was abusive and damaging, he kept even more to himself as a human. However, in all of his years, he had found a companion that often snuck in through his window to visit him after he had gotten beaten harshly by his brothers. One night, when Nam Hyun thought he had finally reached death’s door, the male he had grown so fond of swept him away off death’s doorstep and saved him by throwing him into the world of night – into the world of vampires.
