Kasami, where to begin? Kasami's inner workings are normally on the bright side. No matter what hardship life throws at her she's usually strong enough to keep upbeat and optimistic about things. She prides herself on the teachings of her parents; to be kind, warm, welcoming and accomodating toward others. "You never know what another person is going through behind the scenes so always above all, be kind." However, she's always been very forthright about it as well. She'd never dim her light, if somebody is treating her less than she deserves. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
Kasami does like to believe the best in the people who treat her kindly though. Once you've cracked her hard shell and have inched your way into her core, she can't help but think the world of you, and may even let you manipulate her without knowing. She'd put on her rose colored glasses and be none the wiser, which is exactly what happened with Reel Media. Things may have been ideal at first with all the promises, but the second things started turning grim, instead of blaming others, she turns inwards and starts blaming herself and for a person who's especially as trusting as she is, it tends to break her down when things go to absolute hell with the people she's let into her life. She withdrawls almost entirely out of fear and anger. So when I say she's hard on herself, that doesn't even scrape the surface. When it comes to reflecting and growth, she's really only had the teachings of her parents as she didn't really have any friendships or relationships outside of her parents and siblings.
That's why she's the type of person who loves wholeheartedly when people come into her life. She supports them and hopes to uplift them. Watching the fall of her friends, and the fall of Reel Girls shatters her. It wasn't supposed to be that way. There are no guidelines in life to tell you what you're supposed to do, how to pick up the pieces of those you love when your pieces are falling apart as well. She finds it especially nerve wracking to admit when shes wrong or hurt by things. So going out of her way for help isn't her first instinct and something she definitely needs to work through.

Mental health

At the start, she was just like any other beginner idol. Kasha worked long and hard hours as to not hold her members back. She was always worried about looking bad or making her group mates look bad, that's why she turned to the camera. There's a certain way you can record or edit a clip to make all the mistakes go away, and to emphasize on the good, and glamorize what needs to be glamorized in the moment. She wanted to make people feel and look good through her lenses. It was what made her feel good, after all. As an idol you are constantly showered in darkness, so she thought that if she can show off the good, the bad would dissappear. She was terribly wrong but we're getting ahead of ourselves.

Kasha wasn't born with anxiety, or depression. No, that grew onto her like a second skin. There was always a need to be perfect, to be on top if she wanted to debut. Initially that was the hard part, and she never imagined it could get much worse. She was lucky to have a family that supported her although not as close as she'd wanted them to be, they were still on her side of the ring, cheering her on. With them cheering her on, she knew she could make it through.

Debuting wasn't easy at all. Being an idol wasn't quite the cherry on top either, but she expected that. It was a tough crownd to please. Idols were falling through each and everyday, but she was proud and confident in the talent of her group and she kept going. She documented all types of moments in hopes to play them back one day and reminisce in happiness but the more she played them back and edited hour after hour, minute after minute; clips started getting shorter and shorter. Fans complained that the videos weren't as long as they once were at the beginning. They noticed things she hadn't, and it scared her more than she wanted to admit. And so, Kasha began withdrawing a lot of herself on stage. She wasn't bright or bubbly, but she wasn't even happy anymore. It was like pieces of the puzzle kept getting lost or getting snatched from her fingers and there wasn't a thing she could do to stop it. The downfall of her members was more than she could bargain for. What was she to do? Did they even notice their own downfall? Would they even talk to her if she asked them? Would anybody be willing to help if she chose to confide in outside sources? No, absolutely not. Yes, Yes I need to. 

Kasha fought withherself on a daily basis on what she should do, and always came up short. She began disassociating, and gaslighting herself, mostly hoping all the issues would just stop and they could all get back to their usual, happy selves but to no avail. What's a girl to do? It would be simple if maybe it was just one of the members unravelling, then they'd all be able to help where they could, but when its all of them at the same time, at different rates and severities? One person cannot be the person to save the day. Kasha suffered multiple visits to the hospital, health deteriorating over it but her managers and the staff always played it off as a check-up or covered it up completely.

Her stress added onto diagnosis making them wide spread with insomnia, high blood pressure, chest pains, low energy, depression, fatigue, tension to name a few of her ails.

When it becomes news that the group (of members of the group have been kidnapped) its the last strand of her sanity. Kasha loses it to the point where an involuntary psychiatric hold is forced upon her (otherwise known as a 5150). She becomes mute, and even more withdrawn than she has ever been. She blames herself for being unable to help her group come out of the dark.
 

Backstory 

Kasami was born the older twin in Tokyo, Japan where she lived for a couple years before the family ultimately moved to Korea for her fathers work. There was no doubt that her parent's loved her and her twin sister, Ana, infinitely. They made it their job to do absolutely everything possible in order to make sure that their children had what they needed in order to build a life worth living. However, when the move to Korea uprooted them, it also uprooted core values that the family held. Things changed. In a new place where they didn't know the language, and where routes were unfamiliar, Kasami's mother, Emi, let her fear slip through. Emi wouldn't allow her children out of her watchful eye in fear of them being taken or harmed with her back turned. She limited their routines to school and language classes only. If they wanted to go out, it had to be with her as chauffer.

Growing up wasn't easy, but it wasn't insanely hard either. After a while, everybody just started growing accustomed to how protective their parents were. And even their father, Hiro, tried to get Emi to loosen the reigns a little the more they grew older. But, because Kasami knew how uncomfortable Emi felt about them being out and about on their own as they grew older, it somehow had a lasting effect. Kasami ended up acquiring mild agoraphobia, where she felt uncomfortable leaving home. It made it hard for her to make friends, especially being the japanese girl among korean classmates. Even though her siblings basked in the newfound freedom, Kasami stayed stagnant but she was happy being on her own. She preferred it. It's what helped her grow a love for music, dancing, and singing. In her room, she was able to embrace what she loved, and with encouragement from her twin sister and father, she was able to start auditioning, and showing off her talent. Still, it wasn't even auditioning that got her into a company, it was a small local street competition that got her scouted. Thus begat her training journey.

her story moving forward... 
I know that the story centers around the girls going missing so I was thinking that when the girls go missing, so does Kasami but not quite in the way that people think. Yeah, Kasami is missing because the company would rather people think that she's missing instead of knowing that she's in a psychiatric ward. She's susceptible to spilling the beans about everything that's happened behind the scenes in this state so it's better that nobody knows about it and her recovery. So even though she's not "missing", the company sends her off to a psychiatric hospital without revealing the fact to her family.
Stumped, and just as in the dark as all the other group member families, Kasami's family and boyfriend begin to look for her, and advocate for Kasami's return, but something just doesn't really seem right. As it stood, the company wasn't aware that Kasami had a boyfriend in the first place so when he took things into his own hands and demanded information from the company, he knew things were not as they were. He drilled into their lies and investigated on his own until he found where she was.


After he finds her, he urges her parents to sue the company, and get Kasami out of the psychiatric hospital. (This part of his story will continue in her love interest section...!)

Once she's back home, Kasami has a lot of healing to get through, and with help, she begins to make a resurgence. She doesn't outright spill the beans at first, just snipits that make fans and netizens outrages, but hungry for more information. Police investigators want more information and she may be valuable in figuring out what happened to Reel Girls.
