🦋 hwang jawol 황자열 her name in Korean, which is only really used in legal processes during her time in South Korea, if ever.
nicknames
🦋 gef, fion, elle, lise, lissie various nicknames derived from Gefion and Elyse, and are primarily used by her family and friends. Of these nicknames, her favourite would have to be Gef.
🦋 gef the killer a nickname she gave herself after the creepypasta character Jeff the Killer, became famous online. (She finds this nickname rather amusing, as a matter of fact.) As this nickname is only frequently used by her brother and friends who are familiar with Jeff the Killer, not many people know of the existence of this nickname.
🦋 xiao-yue 小悦 a nickname that her parents call her with out of affection. Her brother also calls her as such at times, though usually to annoy her.
🦋 black swan a phrase used to refer to an unpredicted event, her fans began to refer to her as such after she was called by this name several times during 16TV. This nickname became more widely used following the release of Black Swan in Honkai: Star Rail, and Gefion admitting that she’s one of her favourite characters in the game.
🦋 gefioff remember a time when Jimin is called Jimout and Chaeyoung is called Chaeold? Gefion’s no exception to that, and she has to say, that’s a clever pun, and funny too. Though this nickname gradually fell out of use over the years, there’s still some fans who call her Gefioff, and this gets a chuckle out of her or two every time she sees or hears it.

languages
🦋 english 100% fluent. Since English is the main language spoken in Singapore, of course she’ll be fluent in it. She speaks with an accent identifiable to Singaporeans, and is something that her Singaporean fans get especially excited over, even more so when she incorporates Singlish in what she says.
🦋 mandarin 80% fluent. Her second language which she learned throughout her schooling years and speaks at home. Her fluency in the language is relatively higher than a good number of her peers in Singapore, partly because her parents emphasise the importance of speaking Mandarin given that they’re Chinese. Although her abilities in the language have regressed, she’s able to express herself in Mandarin relatively easily. She mainly speaks Mandarin to other Mandarin speakers, be it in South Korea, Japan, the US or other countries she goes to.
🦋 korean 75% fluent. She’s learned bits and pieces of it through the K-pop videos she’s watched, but it’s not until she became a Pledis Entertainment trainee that she began to scratch the surface. She’s picked up Korean rather quickly, being able to speak it with relative ease. However, she occasionally struggles with the language, therefore requiring her fellow bandmates, labelmates, staff or trainees to help her out.
🦋 japanese 60% fluent. She’s learning Japanese as part of her training at Pledis Entertainment, but her progress in Japanese is significantly slower as compared to Korean, simply because she hasn’t many opportunities to practise it, aside from with Hana or other Japanese-speaking trainees. She hopes that with the effort she puts in, she’ll be able to improve her fluency in the language.

Gefion is probably someone that you would want as a friend. She’s exactly the type of person that anyone can rely on to brighten up a room and put a smile on everyone’s face. Somehow, being able to talk to others comes so easily to her. Even for someone meeting her for the very first time, speaking to her almost feels like chatting with an old friend, diving deeper into each other and what they’re doing. It’s no wonder, then, that many people see her as a friend, especially those in Sixteen and Pledis Entertainment. It certainly helps that she can be rather bold too, doing just enough to be seen as funny.

People in Pledis Entertainment know that besides having the makings of an idol, she has the makings of being someone in charge. Part of it comes with her age- she’s one of the oldest trainees in the Sixteen line-up, and arguably one of the most mature in terms of her mindset and thinking. But a larger part of it comes from the way she acts. She’s acutely aware that panicking in a stressful or difficult situation won’t provide her with much benefit as compared to keeping calm and solving the problem without emotions and thoughts clouding her mind. If you can count on Gefion to talk about her opinions clearly, you can probably count on her to find a way out of the problem.

There’s another important thing to consider when making someone the leader besides their ability to lead- the ability to step up. Gefion’s capable of doing so, which is especially great when there’s a need to move forward and someone who is strong and takes charge.

Of course, it’s not always all work and no play for Gefion. Sure, she might be the first person to say “let’s get things done”, but she also won’t hesitate to be more cheeky. And no, there isn’t always a particular reason why she chooses to fellow trainees, pull some small pranks here and there or does a certain thing that’s rather different from how she always acts. Oftentimes, it’s simply chalked up to because she felt like doing it. Perhaps her antics will not sit well with some people and make them wonder what’s gotten into her. But even the most responsible of people needs an outlet every now and then, no?

On the other hand, she’s aware that although she means well, the remarks that she meant as a joke can hurt people. The same goes for her comments and feedback (she tends to go straight to the point, which isn’t always the best approach). As soon as she senses this, she’ll definitely apologise and make sure that she doesn’t make the same mistake in the future.

If you ask Gefion how she developed her ability to take the lead, she’ll say that she’s not naturally good at taking charge, she does it because there’s a need to do so. She doesn’t mind being the one to get something done, especially when there isn’t a conflict of interest, but promising to be the person who completes things might mean biting off more than she can chew. She’s not going to deny that she feels exhausted by taking on so many responsibilities, but she knows that if she lets go, sometimes it might make things even worse.

And what happens if she sees something go wrong, especially under her watch? The first thing she does is to analyse what went wrong, and she will start with herself. And then she begins spiralling down the rabbit hole, wondering what she has done, what she could have done better, what she should have avoided doing. That is, until someone decides to step in and prevent her from sinking further into despair and remind her that not everything that happened has to do with her. It’s a slow process, getting herself out of the habit of pathologising things.

Maybe that process is made even slower with the amount of work she does, or how she’s viewed by her people. People view her as the strong one, so she tries to keep up that image to avoid disappointing them. Or that others have their own problems too, and it’s not good to add on to them. It comes with the expense of her own well-being, though, with how she doesn’t let others know that she’s struggling and she could really use some help. And that’s why she often has something she’s worrying about. Add the tendency to overthink, and you have someone who seldom is at peace with herself.
 the origins

There’s no denying that Gefion’s family is rather different from the typical Singaporean family.

At the time of her birth, her father was the assistant conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, while her mother was a senior manager of National Gallery Singapore. Over the years, they would become principal conductor and director (Curational & Collections) for their respective organisations.

Aside from having a more disposable income as compared to a good number of their peers, there were more opportunities for Gefion and her brother, Samuel, to be exposed to multiple forms of art from a young age. For Samuel, he initially was interested in becoming a professional dancer, which led him to compete in many competitions throughout his primary school years. However, he eventually fell out of love with it during his teenage years, instead finding his calling as a visual artist. While he’s aware that there is increasing exposure to the arts in Singapore over the years, he knew that it wasn’t quite enough for him, at least not at this point in time. So he pursued his dreams overseas, teaching Gefion to not limit her pursuit of art to just their own country and to always dream big.

Among the siblings, it’s Gefion who’s much keener on music, and she eventually fell in love with singing. Being in her school’s choir wasn’t enough for her, so she took singing lessons during the weekends. After several years of choir and singing lessons, singing evidently became one of her strongest talents. So she was constantly asked to be the person to sing, be it in front of family members or in a karaoke room. She didn’t mind that very much; as a matter of fact, she enjoyed it. Perhaps she could be a singer in the future.

During Gefion’s secondary school years, K-pop exploded in popularity in Singapore, with groups like EXO and B.A.P and Apink and Orange Caramel being the talk of the town (or rather, among teenagers like herself). Watching these groups on television was enough to get her hooked, and before long, she wanted to be a K-pop idol, just like her own idols. But her parents insisted on her finishing secondary school first. Sure, she did throw a bit of a tantrum at that, but she followed through with her parents’ wishes in the end.

Once she was done with her GCE ‘O’ Level examinations, she began researching various K-pop companies, and began sending her audition clips and applications to several top companies. Out of all of the companies she auditioned for, only Pledis Entertainment extended an invitation to Gefion to come down to their building in Seoul for a second audition. So she did, with her mother accompanying her on the trip.

Gefion desperately hoped that she was what Pledis was looking for. As expected, she was over the moon when she received news that she had passed her in-person audition and was offered the chance to be a trainee. Of course she has to take up this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

appearance
With her pale skin, round eyes, small nose, diamond-shaped face and great body proportions, anyone can tell that she’s the epitome of Korean beauty standards, and, for that reason, is often described as a visual of Sixteen. Some even say that from her looks alone, she has both the makings of an actress and a model.

At present, she sports long, black hair and two lobe piercings on each ear. She has no plans to add on to her piercings, dye her hair or get tattoos for the time being, especially when it comes to changing her hair colour, because her black hair is what she’s especially well known for among her fans. However, she’s open to it.

style
If you ask Gefion how she would describe her fashion sense, she’ll say that it’s classic. Indeed, she’s not particularly experimental when it comes to her clothing choices, often going for tried and tested pieces like T-shirts, strappy sleeveless tops, straight cut jeans, tailored trousers, jumpsuits and blazers. The same goes for the colours of her clothes, oftentimes sticking to white, black and brown, save for the occasional print or colour. Funnily enough, she doesn’t own a whole lot of dresses, appearing more often tops with bottoms, but there isn’t a reason to this- just a matter of personal preference.

She’s not one to hop on the trends, staying well away from clothing which risks becoming outdated easily. But perhaps it is this tendency to stick to classical cuts that is of benefit to her. She doesn’t feel the need to keep updating her wardrobe to keep up with the times, and when her group mates are in need, she’s always happy to loan them an article of clothing or two for the occasion.

🦋 what does she like? She likes peach scents, fruit teas, crime fiction, personality quizzes, video games and roller coaster rides.
🦋 now, what does she not like? She dislikes candyfloss, bubble tea, unrealistic storylines, being put in charge, cute concepts and badly-executed cliches.
🦋 what interests her? Her hobbies include reading, jewellery collecting, yoga and pilates, journalling, origami, and gaming.
🦋 it's the little things She tends to yawn when she’s bored, pick at her skin when stressed and set alarms for important reminders and events.
🦋 the skeletons in her closet She’s afraid of disappointing herself and others, cockroaches and falling from a height.
🦋 what makes her stand out? Her talents include singing low notes, imitating Gollum and bending her thumb backwards to her wrists.
🦋 online presence She will open her personal Instagram account @gefionelyse_w in 2021. She will also open her own gaming channel Gefion’s Igloo on YouTube in 2023. She also has a private Discord account @geftheswan. She used to post fairly often on Sixteen’s Instagram account, but has since posted less often following the opening of her own Instagram account.
🦋 making art? well... Art was one of Gefion’s worst subjects in school. Of the art assignments she received, she hated sketching and shading the most. In fact, she’s toyed with asking her brother to do her art assignments on her behalf, though she never went through with it in the end. Her brother has remarked (jokingly) on several occasions that she needs to seek forgiveness from the gods of art.
🦋 hypermobility Speaking of her ability of bending her thumbs backwards, she is also able to bend only the top joints of her fingers as a result of hypermobility in her finger joints.
🦋 subs over dubs It’s subs over dubs for Gefion anyday. To her, the issue with dubbing is that it takes away from the actual performance of the actor or voice actor, and brings in something that was not intended by the actual writers or producers or directors. The dubs being not in sync with the characters’ speaking also annoys her more than she admits.
🦋 luxury is in every detail Yes, she owns bags, wallets and jewellery from luxury brands. To date, her most expensive item is a black Chanel 19 bag which cost USD 6,500.
🦋 good game She owns a Nintendo Switch and plays games like Mario Kart 8, Overcooked!, Super Smash Bros and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. She’ll also branch out to Honkai: Star Rail a few days after its release.
🦋 speaking of honkai: star rail... her usual team consists of Jing Yuan, Asta, Natasha and Welt (who is another of her favourite characters in the game).
🦋 who's in love with kafka? On another note, she knows that this is a controversial opinion, but she doesn’t like Kafka. For some reason, she rubs Gefion the wrong way. But Gefion does find her design cool, though.
🦋 dipping fries in ice cream? Gefion doesn’t get the hype behind dipping fries in ice cream. To her, something as sweet as ice cream does not go well with the saltiness of fries.
🦋 education She graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2017, under the Applied Music department. She’s currently enrolled at Chung-Ang University, majoring in Voice Music.
🦋 paper trails Out of the crime fiction books she’s read to date, she especially enjoys those written by Agatha Christie (and yes, it's clichéd, but her favourite book by Agatha Christie is Murder on the Orient Express.) Her second favourite genre would have to be fantasy.
🦋 what if she wasn’t a k-pop idol If she hadn’t become a K-pop idol, Gefion reckons she’ll still pursue her dreams of being a singer. But if she doesn’t become a singer, then she might likely become a vocal trainer.
samuel caleb wong
Given that there is quite an age difference between Gefion and Samuel, they didn’t grow up being very close. This was more observable during Gefion’s childhood years, but over the next few years, the siblings managed to find other things to talk about besides studies and art.

Aside from being so proud of her brother for making it far as an artist (yes, he has collaborated with a couple of K-pop companies to help produce artworks for K-pop groups), Gefion will always be thankful to Samuel for teaching her to never limit herself in the pursuit of art. If not, she probably might never have auditioned to be a K-pop idol, land herself an K-pop company and even make her debut (and reach her dreams as a result). Though they’re still not very close, the both of them make it a point to call and chat with each other when they can. The siblings will also always have each other’s backs, no matter what.

choi seunghwa
Seunghwa and Gefion are pretty much the Bennet sisters in real life. If Gefion’s Elizabeth, the more boisterous, vocal one, Seunghwa’s Jane, the reserved, soft-spoken one who’s also more patient.

The both of them have known each other since their Pledis Girlz days, often training together and going through things together (including being removed from the Pledis Girlz lineup and shifted to Sixteen). That’s why out of everyone in Sixteen, Gefion’s most familiar with Seunghwa, and likewise for the other girl, who hangs around her more often than the other Sixteen girls.

Gefion knows the older girl quite well, including her sensitivity and timidness, so she’s more mindful when speaking to her. She wouldn’t mind stepping in for Seunghwa if needed, but she will try to get her friend to be a bit more vocal every now and then, especially over things that concern her. If Seunghwa doesn’t approach Seungcheol (her brother), then you can be quite certain that she’ll approach Gefion whenever she’s in need of help, advice or a listening ear.

21 (1997), member of Sixteen

won yuheon
Gefion wouldn’t consider herself to be very close to Yuheon, partly because despite having rather similar personalities, their energies don’t match each other that much. However, she does admire the Yuheon’s passion and drive to achieve what she wants. She would gladly hang out with the younger girl as well.

Whenever Gefion needs help with her dancing, Yuheon’s usually the first person she will approach, considering the fact that she’s one of the best dancers among the Sixteen girls. Plus, Yuheon will always be happy to help her out and offer some advice on how she can improve in her dancing.

19 (1999), member of Sixteen

yeom narae
Like Yuheon, Gefion wouldn’t consider herself to be close to Narae. This time, it’s mainly due to the age difference between the both of them. However, she does see Narae as the little sister she never had, especially when taking her energetic and rambunctious nature into account.

Gefion enjoys teasing Narae from time to time, calling her Slowpoke or pulling harmless pranks on her. She knows that the younger girl can’t hold a grudge against her for very long, and it’s only a matter of time before they’re cool again. Gefion’s also always happy to give Narae advice whenever she needs it, and will not hesitate to protect her at all costs (especially when people bully her because of autism).

16 (2002), member of Sixteen

sixteen
As Gefion primarily trained alongside Pledis Girlz, she wasn’t familiar with the Sixteen girls besides Seunghwa (in fact, she met some of her fellow bandmates through 16TV). Though it took her a while to get used to them, she got along with everyone just fine in the end. Sure, there’s some girls she’s closer to as compared to others, but they’re a team and each and every one of them share the same goal of becoming a top girl group. She cares for everyone deeply and will not hesitate to help any of them whenever they need.

16-22 (1996-2002)

seventeen
As Gefion became a trainee at Pledis Entertainment during the time Seventeen was preparing for debut, she didn’t get that many chances to meet her seniors when they’re not busy with schedules. However, that changed when she was featured in two of Seventeen’s music videos, as she no longer viewed them solely as talented seniors she looks up to.

Among the Seventeen members, she’s easily the closest to Joshua, because he’s her mentor. She’s also rather close to Vernon too, because like Joshua, she can relate much easier to their experiences living in other countries before coming to South Korea. She does hang out with the members from time to time and chats with them rather frequently, though when it comes to making plans to have a meal together, it’s often the Seventeen members who need to make the first move (because otherwise, she’ll only really ask the two aforementioned members out).

19-23 (1995-1999)

(ex)-pristin
Having trained alongside the Pledis Girlz members up until she was removed from the lineup to join Sixteen, she’s definitely on friendly terms with all of them. She’s especially close to Jieqiong and Sungyeon, given that they are the same age.

Over time, though, as Gefion spends more time with the Sixteen girls, she’s not quite as close to the Pristin girls as she used to, although she messages and hangs out with them fairly often. When Pristin fell apart as a result of their hiatus, Gefion made it a point to ask after them and keep them company. And when Pristin disbanded and the girls went their separate ways, she continued keeping in touch, wishing them all the best and supporting them wholeheartedly in their new endeavours.

Just based on her face alone, she exudes a sense of grace that is reminiscent of a swan. But her deep vocals add a sense of depth and mystique, like travelling into the unknown, hence the persona she’s given.

trainee life
When Gefion first arrived at Pledis Entertainment, she struggled in many ways right from the start.

Firstly, adjusting to life in South Korea was a huge challenge. Not only do the people there speak in a language she barely knows, there were definitely cultural practices that differed greatly from the Singaporean Chinese culture she used to know.

Secondly, if she wasn’t at school, she would be having classes (vocals, dance, acting, languages) all the way until late at night. Needless to say, she had a hard time, even more so when she wasn’t familiar with Korean to begin with. Yes, she’s definitely had to endure scoldings from time to time, but she was chosen to be a trainee and a hopeful for a girl group for a reason. She couldn’t let the company down.

Slowly but surely, Gefion made progress. Her vocals have always been noted by the trainers to be a very unique selling point, and would certainly make for a great addition in the group she would be placed in. She would later learn that this group is called “Pledis Girlz”, and she was added just after four months of training.

Since the addition, she’s only worked even harder to prove that she deserved to debut. Now, imagine the surprise when she was called into the CEO’s office one day, and informed that she would be removed from Pledis Girlz in order to join a show called 16TV…

predebut activities
🦋 appearance in seventeen's mansae mv (2015)
Like some of the female trainees, including Seunghwa and several members of Pristin, Gefion was featured in her labelmate's music video.

🦋 16tv (2016-2018)
In all honesty, Gefion was rather confused over her removal from Pledis Girlz and addition to a lineup called Sixteen. Furthermore, she’s already grown comfortable among the trainees in Pledis Girlz, and has never met some of the trainees who would be starring in 16TV alongside her. But she knows that she’s not in any position to challenge this decision, so she decided to make the best out of it.

It helped that Seunghwa had also been added to Sixteen, because she had a familiar face and wouldn’t be so disoriented when filming began. For the most part, filming wasn’t too bad; she mainly shared what she was doing, her thoughts, and showed off her skills in singing, dancing and rapping (especially singing). She even spoke Singlish on the show from time to time, which sparked excitement among Singaporean fans.

By the time 16TV ended, it was certain that she would be added to the vocal team due to her unique vocals and her skills in singing.

🦋 appearance in seventeen's don't wanna cry mv (2017)
She was one of the females who appeared at the start of the music video.

🦋 appearance in bts' love yourself highlight reel (2017)
She was known as the girl who starred opposite Jin (replacing Cherry Bullet’s Bora), and once her name was published in several K-pop news articles online, she received many comments that praised her for her looks. When it was also revealed that she is a Pledis Entertainment trainee who appeared on 16TV and would be making her debut in Sixteen, it helped bring more attention to the group.

future activities
🦋 popo (how deep is our love?) (2022)
This song was released as the A-side to Gefion's first single album. It’s clear that her solo songs are quite different from that of Sixteen’s, mainly because she wants to showcase her own musical preferences and personality.

🦋 ghost town (2023)
A remake of JVKE’s song of the same name, it was released as the A-side to her second single album.

🦋 collaboration with love, bonito (2023)
With Love, Bonito, a Singaporean women’s fashion brand, seeking to expand its global outreach, Gefion, who is a K-pop idol hailing from Singapore, is the perfect person to approach. On Gefion’s end, she’s very happy to support local brands, and accepted Love, Bonito’s offer to work with them on a capsule collection.

The capsule collection, titled gefion x love, bonito, was released in March 2023 over two weeks, in conjunction with International Women’s Day. Not only did every item in the collection sell out within just days of its release, it brought even greater attention to Gefion (and by extension, Sixteen) and Love, Bonito.

🦋 collaboration and ambassadorship with charles & keith (2024)
Following Gefion’s collaboration with Love, Bonito, Charles & Keith, a Singaporean women’s shoe brand, extended her an offer to become their ambassador and work on a capsule collection. As expected, she accepted their offer.

The capsule collection, titled xoxo, gefion, was released in January 2024. In particular, an origami handbag in the collection became extremely popular on Tiktok, which eventually kickstarted a trend and led to the selling out of the handbag.

headlines & scandals
🦋 was gefion's spot in sixteen handed to her? (2018)
Following Sixteen’s debut, several netizens dug up Gefion’s family background, discovering that her father is the principal conductor of Singapore Chinese Orchestra, her mother is director (Curational & Collections) of National Gallery Singapore, and her brother is a well-known visual artist who has worked with K-pop companies in the past. It was also published online that the condominium that her family is living in currently costs approximately 1.2 million USD. As a result, rumours spread that with Gefion’s privilege, she was able to buy a trainee spot in Pledis Entertainment and subsequently, her spot in Sixteen.

As soon as Gefion read the rumours (and the malicious comments), she was anxious. But she was angry too, with how utterly untrue the rumours are, and that her family’s information (specifically, her home) was posted for the whole wide world to see. This prompted her to clarify on Instagram that she did not buy her trainee spot, and instead auditioned for Pledis Entertainment and was accepted as a trainee. A couple of days later, Pledis Entertainment also released a statement denying the rumours, and a warning that legal action will be taken against those who spread the rumours and left hate comments.

🦋 sixteen's gefion warns netizens to stop leaving inappropriate comments on her brother’s instagram posts (2020)
With Gefion being a K-pop idol, it’s natural that her fans would be curious about Samuel, her older brother. Several of her brother’s images taken from his Instagram account eventually were circulated online, with many praising him for his visuals and others commenting that good looks must run in the family.

But of course, there was a group of commenters leaving highly ual and inappropriate comments, like wanting Samuel to step on them or his face engraved on their tombstones. This eventually prompted Samuel to warn netizens to stop leaving inappropriate comments on his posts via Instagram stories. Gefion did the same, mentioning it on an Instagram live session in a friendly, polite tone. “I know you guys love my brother very much, but he’s very uncomfortable with some of the comments you guys posted, so please stop it.”

first meeting
Gefion met all the Seventeen members on the same day and time- the filming of Seventeen’s Mansae music video. Like the other female trainees who were featured in the video, she had the chance to say hi to the members and compliment them for their talents.

When Gefion first introduced herself in Korean, and then in English to Joshua (because she knew that he hailed from the United States), there was a moment where the both of them knew that they could “click” with each other. They had something in common, and they can relate to each other a bit more easily. She got his contact details together with the rest of the Seventeen members, and began messaging him from time to time.

interactions
By the time Gefion was to film Seventeen’s Don’t Wanna Cry music video, she was a lot more at ease around the Seventeen members.

When it was revealed that Gefion’s mentor is Joshua, she joked that she was assigned as Joshua’s mentee because they can speak English and make for some interesting moments in Sixteen Wishes to Debut!. (Fun fact, this joking remark would make it to the actual episode, and it became one of the most well known quotes among the Sixteen fandom.) They greeted each other in Korean (and subsequently, English), they hit it off, and the mentoring process was pretty much smooth sailing. Throughout the show, they even had the opportunity to have a battle of who can hit the highest note (which, surprisingly, went to Joshua), and even Gefion teaching Joshua Singlish.

After Sixteen Wishes to Debut! ended, they continued to keep in contact and even hang out every now and then. When they speak, it’s pretty much a mix of Korean and English that only Vernon and other English-speaking members of Sixteen understand.

trivia
🦋 If their friendship had to be put into words, it’s probably best described as two guy friends hanging out together. Sometimes, Joshua even reminds Gefion of her own brother.
🦋 Speaking of their unique way of speaking to each other, this led to Seventeen and Sixteen fans making compilations of them speaking in English and their version of Korean and English.
🦋 They have never used honorifics when addressing each other (except when they’re being filmed), partly because the concept of honorifics is something fairly foreign to them, especially on Gefion’s end. Instead, they often call each other simply by their names.
🦋 Some time after Sixteen Wishes to Debut!, Gefion expressed interest in writing lyrics, which Joshua is happy to help her with. He even helped her talk to other Seventeen members who’s more experienced in this field.

hello, welcome, gefion!
“Hi! Nice to be here,” Gefion says with a smile as she takes the seat behind the camera. Once she is settled down, she looks up at the interviewer with subtle excitement, a clear signal that he can proceed with the interview.

The interviewer nods, and then looks down at the clipboard in his hand. so, please introduce yourself.
“I’m Gefion, one of the lead vocalists of Sixteen.” She then pauses for a moment. “I’m known for my deep voice when I sing,” she adds with a grin.

We can see that, the interviewer replies, chuckling softly. after years of 16tv, you’re finally debuting! how does it feel?
“It’s surreal, that’s for sure. But it’s exciting, too. I’m very glad I got the opportunity to be part of a K-pop group, and I can’t wait to see where this will take me. Of course, Sixteen will be working hard to become a top girl group!”

The interviewer nods as he moves on to the next question. seventeen will be your mentors throughout the programme. what do you think about that?
“Okay, so here’s my very honest opinion about our seniors.” She pauses again, then breaks into another smile when the interviewer looks at her rather expectantly. “I think they’re incredibly talented and hardworking, and it’s definitely an honour to have them as our mentors! This is a very unique concept, but more importantly, I trust that they’ll be able to coach us well, and help us take our skills to the next level.”

You should know who’s your mentor by now. so who is he? and what do you think about him?
“My mentor’s Joshua,” Gefion replies. “From what I know about him, he’s a cool guy, that’s for sure. It probably helps that we speak the same languages,” she remarks with a hint of cheekiness. She looks up at the interviewer, and notices his slight raise of his eyebrows. Not in annoyance though, but of amusement. “Anyway, I think we’ll be able to get along well, and I’m excited to work with him.”

you have two things to wish for, one for yourself and one for sixteen. what do you wish for?
“Hmmm…” Gefion falls silent this time. This question clearly requires a little more thinking. “For Sixteen, aside from hoping that we can become a top girl group, we will always be able to show the best side of us, and even different sides of us, too. And that each and every one of us in Sixteen will always stay together and support one another, no matter what happens,” she says with a nod. “And as for myself, I hope that I’ll be able to grow together with Sixteen, and enjoy everything that I do.”

that's all for today! The interviewer takes one final glance at the questions, then looks at Gefion, smiling. anything else you would like to add?
“Thank you for having me,” she says as she bows towards the camera. “Sixteen will always be working hard, so please support us, and I hope you’ll love our songs, too!”

Truth to be told, romance isn’t really something at the top of Gefion’s mind at the moment. There’s two reasons for this- firstly, she’s more focused on becoming a K-pop idol, and after she debuts with Sixteen, her career usually comes first. Secondly, she sometimes recalls how Samuel once dated a girl who ended up cheating on him. With how he tells her to not be so quick to commit, even if you like that person very much and they seem very good for you, she has since developed a slight fear of something similar happening to her, too.

On the other hand, she’s open to the possibility after she’s resolved her fear and when the right person comes along. Her ideal type would be someone who accepts all parts of her- the good, the bad, and the ugly, can communicate with her well and allow her to be emotionally vulnerable without passing any judgement. In return, she will be very caring to her lover, listen to them and understand them. But more importantly, she will go all out for them, and make her partner feel loved at all times.

So here I am with a character I revamped (because I didn’t really do her justice the last time I wrote her out, and I want to give her another chance). I hope this was an enjoyable read, and please let me know if you need anything else ^^

scene suggestions
🦋 Sixteen members having heart to heart talks. I think it’ll be fun if the members end up talking about their crushes (which I foresee will lead to some teasing!)
🦋 On the other hand, I’m interested to see moments where the Sixteen girls are having disagreements, and how they resolve such issues
🦋 Game night!
🦋 Sixteen hanging out with Seventeen
🦋 Perhaps the Pristin members giving advice or words of encouragement to Sixteen? I wonder if it’s possible to see Pristin being featured in 16TV or Sixteen Wishes to Debut! (I think it could be a good source of controversy, especially after Pristin went on hiatus), but if it’s not feasible, it’s alright
🦋 Will add more if I think of anything else

song suggestions
Many of the group songs that came to my mind have already been suggested, so I’ll add on more unit suggestions.
