act i: the basics
full name Eun Hayeon 은하연
nicknames
yeon generic nickname that other people, for example, her friends, call her by.
eunnie 은니 a mixture of her surname, Eun (은) and unnie (언니). This nickname was coined by The Real, because even though she’s considerably younger than he is, she’s somehow much wiser, just like an older sister. It didn’t take her too long to come around to and like this nickname.
haha 하하 there is two possibilities as to why she’s called by such a name. The first group of people (villains and sometimes, even her fellow heroes) would be those who underestimate her, therefore calling her by this nickname as a form of mockery. The second group of people would be people like 777 (who also happened to be the creator of this nickname, since The Real gave her one), and that’s when she knows that it’s all in good fun.
scary unnie 무서운 언니 it’s mainly the rookie heroes who call her as such, since she can be rather intimidating (and her youthful looks only makes her even scarier). But come on, is she really that scary? She can be really kind too!

birth date January 2, 1997
birth place Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, South Korea
hometown Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, South Korea

ethnicity Korean
nationality South Korean
gender Cis female
orientation Heteroromantic, demiual

languages
korean 100% fluent. As she came from the countryside, she used to speak the Jeolla dialect almost exclusively, and had a hard time communicating with people when she first came to Seoul to join The Might programme. Since then, she’s picked up the standard Seoul dialect, which she now communicates most often in, though she may revert back to the Jeolla dialect at times.
english 65% fluent. Though she learned English in school, since it’s a compulsory subject, the quality of formal English education she received isn’t exactly the best. After she joined The Might programme, she began studying English more extensively on her own, since English is one of the most commonly spoken languages around the world. Since then, her proficiency of the language has increased dramatically, though she’s still studying it and practising with The Real so she can be even more proficient in the language.
mandarin 60% fluent. She only started learning Mandarin after joining The Might programme for the exact same reason she studied English more extensively. She’s since then made good progress in Mandarin, being able to hold a simple conversation without too much difficulty. Like English, she’s still studying Mandarin and practising with The Real so that she can be even more proficient in the language.

appearance
The first thing that people will notice about Hayeon is her youthful features, in particular, her bright, sparkling eyes and diamond-shaped face, like that of a 16 year old. Imagine the shock on people’s faces when she says that she’s actually born in 1997. It’ll look to them, then, as though she’s got a baby face, except it’s headed towards the extreme end of it.

And if people underestimate her due to how young she looks, she’s capable of putting them in their place. Her height is just the starting point. People may not realise this, but she’s actually heavier than she looks, no thanks to the lean muscles on her legs and arms and the highly coveted 11-line abs. And this is achieved through regular exercise and workouts.

Hayeon usually doesn’t bother wearing makeup when she goes out, except for important occasions or when she feels like doing so. When she does, it’s light makeup and nothing more than that. She also currently has two lobe piercings on each ear, and certainly not looking out to get more piercings or tattoos anytime soon.

style
Hayeon knows the importance of dressing up well, as doing so will give her more confidence and be less likely to be affected when other people say unsavoury things to her. That’s why she sticks to the basics- T-shirts, blouses, high-waisted shorts, jeans, trousers, skirts (miniskirts are a no-go from her due to her height, unless they’re long enough to cover half of her thighs), dresses and jumpsuits. She prefers to go for solid, neutral colours over prints or bright colours, although she’s okay with simple, small prints like thin stripes.

When it comes to training and relaxation, she tends to opt for T-shirts (including oversized ones) with shorts or leggings. Comfort is something that is important for her, so she’ll definitely be staying away from clothing such as biker shorts, tights or sports bras.

As for her costume, since she heavily relies on physical fighting on the field, she prefers to wear clothing that will not restrict her movement. This means being put in jumpsuits, pants or shorts, and she’ll not even mind short skirts and dresses so long as she doesn’t accidentally flash someone. This is also when she’s dressed in something that’s more fanciful than what she usually wears, since she needs to make a statement to someone who’s fighting against her. As long as her costumes are all dark-coloured, that is.
act iii: the personality
estj, melancholy-phlegmatic-choleric,
5w6, gryffindor, lawful neutral

caring, insightful, witty, hardworking,
logical, serious, sensitive,
defensive, acerbic, arrogant, stubborn

As described by The Real.

Ah, Kafka (or should I say, Hayeon), one of my favourite people among the people working for The Might. It seems as though I’ve known her for a long time, and how can I not? We’re part of the same programme, we trained together, so of course I’ll be more than qualified to talk about her (even if my memory is failing me even more by the day).

The first thing that you need to know about her is just how much of a hard worker she is. It definitely has something to do with the side effect following her injection. Because of her looks, people don’t really take her seriously, and think that she’s someone to be bossed around. That’s what fuelled her ambition to be strong and intelligent, just so she can prove other people wrong. I can say that she’s extremely successful in this, though not everyone likes this change in her. Some say that she’s extremely stuck up, or she’s overestimating herself. But from what I can see, she has the ability to back up what she’s said more often than not. The shock on some people’s faces is just priceless.

The second thing that you need to know is that she’s a skilled tactician. She’s not someone who is very reactive (unlike myself, but let’s not tell anyone that). Instead, she’ll slow down to weigh her options and decide what’s the best course of action. Her solutions are often effective, which is why people turn to her whenever they need help, including what to do when they’re on the battlefield. But it’s precisely because she tends to pause to think, that she has some issues when it comes to taking things easy, or when she needs to decide things very quickly.

Another issue that comes up is her relative lack of agreeability. This is when I bring you back to the times where she’s been doubted or even put down by other people. While she became stronger, physically and mentally, she also got increasingly tired of people underestimating her. This sometimes causes her to think that people are out to get her, to taunt her, or to mock her, when this isn’t always the case. For example, someone might have a better idea than she does, and that person has nothing against her. When she hears about this, she can be quick to shut them down and then insist her idea is better, and then go on the list the reasons why her idea should be followed.

And then there’s her relative no-nonsense attitude. She’s not someone who will take crap from anyone, and when she speaks, she generally will cut to the chase. Not exactly great for making friends or getting to know people on a deeper level, truth to be told. But on the good side, she’s generally aware when she’s offended or hurt someone, and will offer her most sincere apologies. She will also ask after people, although that’s generally kept quite minimal.

The third thing you need to know about her is that if you know her well enough, you will be able to see a softer side to her. Yes, she’s not all fierce and gung-ho, but rather, will care for you when you’re in need. Like the one time when 777 had to go deal with an emergency, so she helped take over some of his work until he got back. Or helping me write things down, because she knows that I struggle with remembering things. Plus, when she’s not being serious, she can be pretty funny without putting in effort. Like cracking jokes or making comebacks, for instance.

The thing is, I’m older than her, but it feels as though she’s an older sister who’s looking after me instead. But I’m really thankful to have her as a friend. Someone who will be there for me and other people she cares about, even when the world is becoming even messier than I remembered.
act iv: the background
Eun Hayeon’s life wasn’t a happy one.

Okay, that wasn’t entirely true. Despite being born into poverty in rural South Korea, she had two loving parents, three older sisters and two younger brothers. They didn’t have a lot, and their house wasn’t exactly in the best condition, but at least they had one another and were happy.

That is, until her parents couldn’t afford to raise her anymore, and off she went to live with an aunt and uncle. Since she was the first to be sent away, she isn't sure if her siblings followed suit.

Her aunt and uncle weren't very happy to learn that they had another mouth to feed, even when they were doing better than her parents were, financial-wise. They rarely ever smiled at her, let alone praise her, and certainly did not allow her to even attempt to contact or visit her parents. So she tried her best to make them happy, that they will treat her the same way they treat their own children (her cousins).

Despite doing the chores and getting good grades, it still didn’t seem enough for them. So she began tutoring kids in the neighbourhood to earn some money.

But still it wasn’t enough, with how they wanted her out of their house by the time she turns 19 years old.

In order to survive on her own after getting kicked out, she’ll have to start by getting into university and saving enough money. With that in mind, she began studying even harder and tutoring more kids. And by the time she had to leave, she had an offer letter from Ehwa Womans University and enough money to be able to last her for a few months or so.

Truth to be told, despite not having seen her family for years, she misses the time she spent with them. She’s definitely tried to look for them at their old home without her aunt or uncle knowing, only to find that it has been vacated. With no idea on how to begin looking for them, she can only hope that they’re still doing well even after all these years. And then she also has to think about how she’s going to survive on her own in a big city.

She attended university, and once classes were over, she would do tutoring to earn money. That’s what it’s going to look like for the next few years, or so she thought. One day, she came across an advertisement for The Might, a new programme aimed at creating heroes and offering loads of money should the person be granted hero status. With such a great opportunity to earn a living and not have to worry about finances, of course she’s going to register for this programme and make the best out of it.
act v: the trivia
likes
cartoons childish, maybe, but they’re so cute and simple and when watching them as an adult, she’s able to view in a different way than when she was a child. Her favourites are Moomin, Doraemon and The Powerpuff Girls.
cats aren’t they just absolutely adorable and relatable? Whenever she sees a cat, she has to resist her urge to pet one.
money yes, she’s not going to deny that she likes money and wants to earn even more money. She needs it to be able to survive, and life would be much easier when she’s got plenty of it.
scented candles they do a great job at helping her relax when she’s tired or in a bad mood. Even better still when the scent is rose or vanilla, her favourites.
soups and stews warm and fulfilling. What more can she ask for?
vegetables she always makes it a point to eat healthily, so vegetables is something that she tries to include in her meals as much as possible.

dislikes
bright or neon colours they’re not her favourite colours for sure, and if she has to wear them as clothing, she’s out.
instant noodles she finds that they tend to make her skin break out. As such, she doesn’t eat it often, unless there’s nothing else to eat or when she’s in a rush.
raw seafood sliminess of raw seafood (like octopus and oysters) and the risk of getting an upset stomach? No thanks!
romance novels, dramas and movies half the time, they’re so illogical that they appear to Hayeon as cheesy more often than not. However, she can appreciate a good romance story when it’s done well.
rude comments it literally costs $0 to be a nice person. Even if someone has to disagree, it should be done in a respectful manner.
sugary drinks it’s not so much the drink itself that’s the problem, it’s when it’s too sweet. Whenever she has bubble tea, she will always request for 25% to 0% sugar.

habits
deep breathing when she gets angry, her breathing will slow down and increase in intensity. This is her way of calming herself down, lest she lashes out at someone and regrets it.
drinks when it comes to cold drinks, she will not add ice to it, finding it too cold for her liking when she does.
when she's bored you can trust Hayeon to have a Rubik’s cube, a book or her phone in her bag when she’s bored and needs something to do.

hobbies
jogging her favourite exercise hands down, because jogging is a cheap exercise that provides a good deal of health benefits. She makes it a point to go jogging in the evening or at night, when it’s cooler.
reading she enjoys reading a good book when she’s bored. These days, she’s been getting into reading controversial books, so that she can see how much of a dumpster fire they are and get a laugh out of it.
rubik's cube she got a Rubik’s cube as a gift from an elementary school teacher, and she’s been playing it as a way to pass time. Whenever she’s bored or needs to distress, she’ll pull out a Rubik’s cube to fiddle with, more so for the latter.

fun facts
— At present, she’s renting a small apartment not too far away from the hero headquarters.
— She’s stayed overnight several times at the hero headquarters, usually when she’s handling more complicated cases that need more time.
— After getting certification as a hero, she still continues to attend university. But she pushes herself further to the point where she graduated 1 semester earlier than her fellow coursemates, so that she can dedicate more time to being a hero.
— She still continues to tutor students, although she makes sure not to take on more than 20 students at one go in order to strike a balance between tutoring and being a hero. She also only takes on elementary or middle school students to save herself the trouble of not being believed that she's qualified to tutor high school students.
— She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education in late 2019.
— She is more of a tea person than a coffee person, but even then, she doesn’t drink tea very often. When she does, she usually goes for earl grey tea.
— At present, she uses an iPhone 11.
— She’s not really a big fan of podcasts, preferring to watch a video instead of just listening to someone speak while she’s doing something else (and losing her concentration in the process).
— She seldom listens to K-pop, and doesn't really care for it. She listens to K-R&B and K-indie bands fairly often, though.
— She has a moderate alcohol tolerance, being able to handle 6 to 8 shots of soju before getting tipsy.
— Funnily enough, due to her appearance, she’s often asked to show her ID when buying alcohol and going to bars. When she does, she can be mistaken for using someone else’s ID. So to save herself from this trouble, she now gets someone else to buy her alcohol and avoids drinking publicly.
— She would like to travel overseas someday, that is, when she thinks she’s earned enough money to do so.
act vi: the connections
name Han Chiwon (777)
occupation Hero
age (year) 30 (1990)
relationship Friend, coworker

A good number of heroes under The Might programme have been trained by Chiwon, and Hayeon is no exception. When she did not gain a superpower worthy enough to be classified as a hero at the beginning and was looked down by others for supposedly being a minimal, he encouraged her to not give up and keep her chin up. Because with her drive, she’ll get somewhere. And somewhere she got, to the point where she now has the respect of The Might’s executives and became a hero.

The both of them can be found hanging out and sharing a conversation fairly often, but it’s clear that Chiwon isn’t opening up to her fully. She understands, of course, that there probably is a reason for that, and will not probe further into it. Whenever she’s in need, Chiwon will be there to help, and vice versa.
name Seon Yooshik (The Real)
occupation Hero
age (year) 30 (1990)
relationship Close friend, coworker

Despite Yooshik and Hayeon being nearly polar opposites personality-wise, the both of them got along very well when they first met each other. And to be completely honest, Hayeon is grateful to have found a friend in him.

This is because Yooshik’s cheerful personality is something she actually needs. Whenever she’s too stressed, you can count on him to tell her several jokes that are effective in lightening up the mood. And with how dense and irrational Yooshik can get, Hayeon will definitely stop him from doing something that he might come to regret later on. To Yooshik, Hayeon’s like his older sister, and will sometimes address her as unnie or Eunnie jokingly.

The both of them are close to the point where they don’t have any qualms in opening up to each other, like their struggles or even their real identities. She’s aware that Yooshik’s memory is failing and that he wants to be able to find his family and friends who knew him before he joined The Might. Since she's close to him (even closer than she is to Chiwon), she definitely will help him out in both areas as much as she can.
act vii: the identity
meaning of name
Truth to be told, she’s not very sure why the executives at The Might named her after the famous 20th century author (and not after the Honkai: Star Rail character) in the beginning. But as she learned about Franz Kafka and his works, she gradually came to appreciate her name. Kafka’s full of intrigue, has such unique visions and perspectives in his writings, and an inspiration to many people who came after him. Perhaps it’s because the executives saw her potential and the way she has inspired them. And if that’s truly the case, it’s such a great compliment to receive.

intentions and goals
The reason she joined The Might programme is because she needed money. This reason still rings true even after she became a full-fledged hero.

But aside from needing money, there’s another reason why she continues to be part of The Might, one that came after going through the programme. Having had her abilities doubted by various people- the government, the programme’s executives, villains and even by her fellow heroes, it only fuels her need to prove them wrong, to show that she’s more capable than they think she is. That’s why she trains so hard, and it paid off.

And as for serving South Korea and its people? Sure, but that’s not why she joined The Might and remains in the programme. She just treats this as something that comes with the job of being a hero.

Outside of hero duties, she’s still trying to track down her family in the hopes of meeting them again, even if she knows that the chances of doing so look rather slim.

power Cloning
abilities She can make multiple clones of herself, who will disappear after 2 hours, at her command or when they’re too heavily injured, whichever is earlier.

strengths and weaknesses
She can only make up to a maximum of 5 clones of herself at any point in time. Her cloning ability is also subjected to a cooldown of 4 hours as soon as she successfully makes a clone of herself.

As she is not able to to cause any form of damage through cloning itself, she’s come close to being classified as a minimal and being dismissed as a result. She’s since then invested heavily in her physical fighting abilities, to the point where she’s able to run faster, dodge quicker and inflict greater damage through punches, kicks, using weapons and the like as compared to the majority of people. Additionally, her abilities to come up with effective strategies means that she can alternate rather well between being on the frontline or supporting from the back.

On the good side, while the condition of the clones she makes is somewhat dependent on her current condition, not everything will be inherited by her clones. This means that her clones can generally function properly, so long as she’s not too sick or heavily injured or anything of the sort.

side effects
During the initial injection of the tonic, she has been aged down appearance-wise to look like a 16-year old. On top of that, like 777, she’s also stopped aging in terms of appearance, though she still ages biologically. This disparity between her appearance and her actual age wasn’t so large at the beginning, but as she grows older, this disparity becomes increasingly apparent. It has also increasingly interfered with her life, for example, not being believed when she states her actual age, or being looked down upon by others because she's "too young".

secret keepers 777 and The Real. More can be added (as you see fit) if she’s close enough to other people to trust them with her real identity.
act viii: the lover
love interest Open

If you ask Hayeon if she’s ever been in love, the answer will definitely be yes, despite having never dated before.

But with her appearance now permanently stuck at that of a 16 year old, she’s afraid of pursuing someone she likes. This is out of fear of what that person will do if they realise that she will never age looks-wise. Will they see her as a freak? Or perhaps dump her because they don’t want to be accused of being a groomer? That’s something that she’s not very willing to risk.

And yet this doesn’t stop her from hoping that she will be able to find her special someone one day, someone who will stick with her through thick or thin and accept her for who she is. And in return, she will love the person with her whole heart and do things with them in mind.
act ix: the finale
comments
I’m late to the party, but here I am with my app! I’m honestly not sure how to feel about it, but I thought it’ll be interesting to write about a character who seems insignificant due to a perceived lack of power abilities and having her youthful looks work against her more often than not.

Nonetheless, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about Hayeon, and let me know if I have to clarify or edit anything.

suggestions
— Hayeon bantering with 777 and The Real
— As much as a strong person Hayeon tries to be, there definitely is a vulnerable side to her. I’d love to see how she navigates and deals with her doubts and insecurities
— I honestly want to see Hayeon having to take down a villain 1-on-1, especially one who looks down on her, and what will happen during the process!
— Hayeon falling in love, maybe? How it happens and how it ends, it’s all up to you
— Will add more if I think of anything else

hello, and thank you so much for applying! first of all, the app you used is so pretty. even just scrolling through your app at first glance it’s easy to tell you put a lot of work and detail into it. it made reading about hayeon even more interesting. also, I like that you made sure to use a younger face claim to help prove how young she looks and her lack of aging.

pfft, the telling of hayeon’s personality by the real was definitely creative, and it made me smile! the way I gasped when I read that hayeon’s parents shipped her off to her aunt and uncle to live with. did they send off any of her brothers and sisters as well, or just her? and they’ve disappeared??

ooh, the might’s first clone! there are a couple of similar powers, but I love that everyone has been able to make their character have their own, unique skills and abilities. I love an underdog, so it made me happy when hayeon pushed herself to become a better fighter in order to efficiently use her clones. and 5 clones within the span of a couple of years is incredibly impressive for her to have pulled off.

even her name is inspirational! please prepare for hayeon to be the poster girl for you can do it too! from the government, using her story and image to inspire more people to join the might.

better late than never because I actually really love hayeon! I think she will make an incredible hero. the government will absolutely want to shine a light on her story of almost being a minimal until pushing herself harder to become a (mostly) respected hero.

I think I can make most (if not all) of those suggestions happen! I’m especially interested in pursuing her romance ventures considering her aging dilemma. I also love hero banter, and I will absolutely be including her banter with 777 and the real! of course, hayeon is accepted, and she’s featured in the newest teaser. thank you so much again for applying! ♡

the bit about her name not being HSR LMFAOO
