daewon had a normal life. A normal salaryman father and school teacher mother. He has two younger siblings. Growing up was simple. He had no real issues. Everything was boringly normal. Maybe that's why he idealized the idea of being something more than just normal. Even when he was in university, top of his class, studying to be a biological chemist and researcher Daewon always felt incomplere. Why settle for his current life? Why not be something world changing? That's how he found himself registering for the program. He never told his family this. They never seemed to understand his need to suceed beyond the norm. Daewon never felt supported by them and they didn't get to know he was entering the program. Really he stopped visiting and talking to them once he went to university. He went no contact with them without warning. Better he succeed alone than be weighed down by them. He didn't need them. After university with his double major and offers to work for some of the most prestigious labs or go to medical school, he still felt it wasn't enough. He's remarkable among normal people, but what about more? He'll look back later and say he was greedy and starved for attention in the wrong ways. He had unfullfilling relationships and any awards felt hollow. Thus, he jumped at trying the program. So when he gained remarkable abilities through the program, he celebrated his good fortune.
Once known as Aceso to the world, He wasn't on the frontlines all the time but he was there taking care of civilians and other heroes. He felt powerful and strong. He could withstand bullets and make sure his teammates survived after hard fights. He was touted by the program as the making of a posterboy due to his good looks and youth and the fact that his power was not destructive. He ligitimately could be the angel of mercy for everyone to look up to. That would all change rapidly. merely a year after the might program and serving his country, Daewon found his physical condition rapidly deteriorating. It was unaccounted for as usually subjects had these adverse reactions quickly, not delayed. After collapsing during a press conference after a mission, he was deemed too frail and weak to continue to use on the frontlines and effectively forced into retirement.
Now he works in a government research lab for others in the program and joining the Might and is sometimes called on to repair and heal others when things are dire .He is also known as a mentor to new members if the might. Life is not easy for him. He left his family behind and doesn't contact them because how does he explain his illness? He burned that bridge so harshly and quickly that he doesn't expect them to understand or support him. Why should they? He lives alone in his small apartment and works. Sometimes he reads. That's his life now. He wishes it could be more but he doesn't know how any more. He envies those who retain their superpowers and can use them without worrying about coughing up a lung of blood or passing out. He regrets doing everything he's done and who he was, and that part of him keeps him from totally giving in to hating others.

Daewon always says he used to be such a . He was young and arrogant. He thought he knew the world and his place in it. Call it the folly of youth. Nowadays he's much more introspective and reserved in his day to day interactions. He used to be proud and had confidence in everything his did. Now he's a shadow or ghost of who he used to be. Daewon is terribly quiet and doesn't really speak out what he's thinking. He's unlikely to share what's going on in his head because sometimes the things he thinks aren't very nice.
For example, he looks on at the other heros and thinks why it had to be him who got sick. Why couldn't someone else be sick? Why couldn't he keep being Aceso and not just Daewon? He used ot think he could take on the whole world with his intelligence and power. Now he can barely walk to the next room without getting dizzy. He tries really hard to not let his envy of the life and health of others affect him but it does. It makes him seem bitter sometimes when he talks to people or he sounds sarcastic or snarky when asked questions by others. Sometimes people just see him as snippy. He still has that air of confidence and with his demanor he still can be a bit of a to people who don't understand him.
But Daewon isn't like that really. He's just so jaded about life that it sometimes slips into his speech. He really is caring and considerate of others. He constantly checks in others wellness and works to make sure they have what they need to be happy and comfortable. He especially feels repsonsible for those who are younger or less fortunate than him since those are people he can genuinely help with his limited ability. See Daewon may have been overconfident but he really grew into wanting to do good things. Snark aside, he really is a good person to have around because he is calm in most situations. He thinks things through and looks at many sides of a problem. Daewon isn't the kind of person who just sees things blac kand white. That makes him a great mediator and he knows how to speak to things in a way that keeps him from putting blame on others, or lets him evade without offending someone. He speaks very well and coupled with his intelligence makes him a good conversationalist once you can get him going.
He often feels at odds with himself. He thinks the darker thoughts are more of who he actually is, but really the more compassionate side of himself that he tries to deny is real is who is really is now. He is stuck in the past, he regrets who he used to be that he misses that he's grown as a person. He genuinely doesn't think he's a good person and it's something he struggles with while also keeping his pessimism at bay. Daewon has grown into a better person but refuses to let himself see that most of the time.

meaning of name: Aceso was the greek goddess of the healing process and curing of sickness. Because of his ability to help others, Shield, Guardian, simply Healer, Apollo and Panacea were also considered.

— He originally wanted to be something remarkable. He's a bit more jaded now, despite being good natured and helpful deep down he wishes he could be back in action instead of the contigency plan.

—Originally - to be remarkable and live a remarkable life. Now - to make the mosto f what he has and to not let the jaded thoughts stop him from supporting active members of The might. He also, secretly, wants to be Aceso properly but knows that can't really happen.
power: Biological Manipulation (Healing/deterioration)
abilities:
— He can manipulate organic matter at the molecular level to age, de-age, repair or damage cells. He uses it mostly to heal and protect, but at one point he could also deteriorate or rot things away. He did it once to a lab rat and has been scared to do it ever again. He can heal injuries as long as the subject is still alive and there is enough living cells to repair or replicate. For example, someone severely burned all over their body might be very difficult for him to heal as he doesn't have enough healthy material to repair or replicate.
The scary side of his power is how he can also wither or drain out the life of biological matter. He can make plants wither or, at one point, even killed a rat in his hand by causing its organs to immediately shut down. He then caused the body to age until it was just dust in his hand. He has never tried to do this again and he quite scared of this ability. He orefers just being a healer if he can.
He also have a natural healing factor. Which is why they think he hasn't fully succumbed to his illnesses since his body is always trying to repair itself. Back when he was fully powerful he could sometimes act as a sponge for attacks since he recovered so quickly.

—The organic matter must be living for him to affect it and it also requires touch. If he can't reach you, he can't heal you. Likewise if he can't touch you, he can't hurt you. If he ever figured out how to do it without touch, he'd be very deadly. Thankfully he's also a sick bub.
side effect(s)
— He is perpetually ill. He always feels just tired and fatigued even on a good day. On the bad days or after using his abilities, he can sleep for hours upon hours. Sometimes when he over extends his abilities (like bringing someone back from near death) he might even sleep for days. The longest was a 2 week coma after healing a stage 4 cancer patient. His stamina is bad, he can barely get out of bed some days. He even coughs up blood sometimes despite not suffering from any illness that would cause it directly. His vision has become senstive and he always has glasses on and has to wear tinted or sunglasses anywhrre with brighter than morning or dusk light. In general he is just weak physically. Sometimes he gets a random fever. It's a big mixed bag for him. Thankfully he's employed by the government to work with the Might otherwise he'd probably not be able to work and keep a job.

Daewon left his family effectively behind in his pursuit of "greater" things. His two little sisters are 3 and 5 years younger than him (Jieun and Miyoung). Don't ask him about them too much. He stopped checking in on them when he started to resent and envy their lives that have been happy and successful. His parents too seem like they're happy and well adjusted. Daewon is very sad he took them for granted but he can't bring himself to contact them to make amends. Its one of the things his angsts over quite a bit when he's alone.
☆ Former Team Mate - The Real
He really tries to be a bright spot for Daewon. Even after Daewon is dismissed from the might, you might find him hanging out around the labs or offices where Daewon is working just to keep up their friendship. Yooshik and Daewon used to have a goofy older brother with an annoyed younger kind of relationship where Daewon pretended to be annoyed at him all the time. He really wasn't though but now he kind of just wants Yooshik to leave him alone. Prior to his illness, Daewon might have even had some more affectionate/loving feelings towards him, but that has since gone away as he tries his best not to be so resentful of Yooshik who only means well.
☆ Former Team Mate - The Ringleader
While they were teammates, Daewon really liked Yeo. But after she left, he lost contact with her. He assumed she was gone from his life until more recently. She has reached out to him, very subtley. She seems friendly and conerned about him. Daewon hates to admit it, but her attention and affrimation of his plight make him feel just a little special again. He feels a connection to her, so he hasn't told anyone she has been in contact with him. She has a soft spot for him supposedly and sometimes mentions how he could, instead of working for the government, maybe help her cause instead. He might be a little in love with her but it's not deep. She's one of the secrets he keeps and he makes sure she doesn't tell him much of her whereabouts or what she's planning because he doesn't want to incriminate himself.

— Noticeably handsome. Daewon appears to have cold demeanor at first. He's tall and lithe so some might have thought he'd be a model one day. But if you get close you notice his skin is pale, he looks tired all time, he even has dark bags under his eyes he sometimes covers with makeup. He has a dullness to his eyes and when he does smile, it rarely seems big or genuine. While at first you might think he looks cool, if you know him he just loks exhausted or sick.
