🎀  CHEESE 치즈 チーズ  people often confuse her name starting with a c rather than an s, not any fault of theirs as she sometimes says her name is "chijuka!". a cuter way to say her name and to save people from pronouncing her name wrong, the nickname cheese started when she's in korea and stayed until then. now everybody in the label, members and fans have endearingly called her cheese. although her friends from japan has been quite confused with it. some people have called her with "chi" but she doesn't use that nickname as it is her sister's nickname

🎀  KIRBY 커비 カービィ  shizuka showed up to kindergarden with a kirby raincoat and backpack, in which the children excitedly said "wah! it's kirby". from then on, she has been known as the "kirby girl" or simply kirby. the longest running nickname she ever has as she continues to wear or have kirby related paraphernalia. when she becomes an idol, she has a lot of kirby merchandise as fan gifts and occasionally do a kirby impression as one of her talents

🎀 KOO HYUNJUNG 구현정  the name came from a fanmeet when deciding what her korean name will be. after brainstorming with her members and the fans, the animation doraemon came up as it has a character with the name shizuka. the localised korean name of the character is cho hyunjung which shizuka loves. she proclaims her official korean name is koo hyunjung (koo comes from her last name 'ku'-sanagi). although not frequently used, she will respond to the name (after you say it like 3 more times)

🎀  KOREAN (75%)  being in korea since 2014 as a trainee, she has been put into rigorous korean lessons. but she picks up quite quickly and it took her 2 months to be able to understand basic day-to-day conversations. now she's quite fluent in it but there are some words that she doesn't know and has the habit of using japanese expressions in a casual setting.

🎀  2017  standing at 168cm and weighs at 58kg, 16 year old shizuka has a skinny stature and a square face shape with a few acne spots on her forehead and chin. her hair is just above her hips and coloured red brown with strawberry blonde highlights usually put up in space buns. almond shaped eyes and darkest brown colour that makes her seem innocent. shizuka only has lobe piercings on her ears
 

🎀  2020 onwards  19 year old shizuka having grown, she now stands at 171cm and weighs 56kg. using jump rope as her exercise regiment, her baby fat turned into muscles and she looks more toned, the legs being much more stronger. for convenience, she cuts her hair just below her shoulder blades and known for frequently changing hair colours, faded strawberry pink being her favorite. her eyes are usually adorned with glittery makeup and looks more upturned with eyeliner. despite that, she still takes care of her skin and has less acne, but breakouts are inevitable so she covers them with cute acne patches. the most drastic change she has is the amount of tattoos and piercings she has now. she now has a orbital and industrial piercing on her left ear, 2 upper helix on her right ear and belly button piercing. her arms are littered with patchwork colourful tattoos alongside one on her back shoulder, left thigh and left ankle. she'll continue to add more tattoos and planning to get an eyebrow or lip piercing if the label allows.

shizuka unironically believes the power of friendship will save the world; that's how much she values friendship. in her childhood, she was surrounded by role models that quickly made friends, and those examples stayed in her brain. genuine connections are what she craves as an extrovert, it gives her the energy to keep on going, and she loves giving back the same power to them. nothing makes her happier than seeing her friends smile and thrive in their own element. especially when they ask her for fashion tips. it began when she wanted an update on what was going on with the fashion trends. borrowing her mom's phone to see videos and articles; when she got her own phone, social media became a vast domain for her. it is such a gen z thing, but being glued to her phone makes her savvy in the current trends. sometimes, she would advise the social media team on what challenges to do. of course, as a trainee and idol, they are often prevented from using their phone. shizuka was so devastated that she cried out of frustration, not knowing what was happening. alarming to some and normal to others, she cries over anything. she is a sensitive soul to the boot and has no control over her waterworks. not only towards hardships or sad situations, she would also cry when she's overwhelmed with joy or seeing something terribly cute. for example, she cried when she saw the video of a raccoon washing its food. still, the food is cotton candy and immediately dissolved in the water. the reason she cried? the raccoon must be so confused and now doesn't have anything else to eat

sometimes you wonder if shizuka ever feel embarrassed over specific action she does. it is not as bad as it hurts other people. still, it can make some stray away from her. the most obvious is that she likes to act cute, so much so that it seems forced and highly annoying to some. shizuka wants to keep up this little sister energy and is shameless about it. her reactions are so animated that it turns to cringe. whether it's a facade or not, some of those qualities turn into naivety. shizuka is an easy target to prank or tease, being so gullible and trusting that she doesn't even think twice. it doesn't help that she never retaliates or gets mad whenever the truth comes out, acting as if she knew all along or just laughs it off. it is dangerous how easy it is to influence her with just a few words; she would definitely get scammed if someone didn't look out for her. and dangerous how easy it is when planting seeds of doubt inside her. indeed she is resilient when it comes to achieving her dream, but it doesn't prevent her from overthinking about things she shouldn't even question. living in the shadow of two people who had better opportunities than her and constantly made to challenge her own skills, stripped herself into faking her own confidence. behind that mask is a girl who wants to reach greater heights, but her mind is a roadblock. every criticism and scolding directed at her, she couldn't help but feel stuck and ended up pitying herself. she has the charge to keep going but immediately crumbles at a little sign of negativity. to combat that, she runs away from problems and freezes at confrontation. guidance and a strong pillar are what she needs; she has lost one of them. she needs to learn how to take care of herself like how she cares for others

 2003  "say bye to onee-san shizuka~" the 2-year-old child held in the arms of her mom, standing in front of the dance studio while an older girl with a toothy grin waved excitedly to her family. small shizuka blinked as she has her eye fixed on her older sister, chizuru, as she turns her back to step into the building. and then the burst of tears came, struggling to get off her mom and yelling for her sister. the boy next to them covered his ears "mom! make her stop!" he scowled with an annoyed glance at the crying mess. hearing the cries, chizuru immediately went back outside and hugged her close as shizuka is put down. every time she seems to calm down, she started crying again whenever chizuru releases her hold. confused by the predicament and the possibility of dealing with a crying child (and another child who is annoyed and will constantly pester his mom to make her stop crying) on the way home, one of the staff came out of the building towards the family "excuse me if you don't mind, maybe she can watch chizuru in her class? we have a glass door so she will be able to see her" the staff kindly asked. the mother was starting to protest before "it's okay mom, i can take care of her, you'll be just down the street anyway" chizuru pipes up, before looking down at the sniffling shizuka "besides i think she wants to see what i'm doing, right shizuka-chan?" shizuka nodded furiously, looking back to give the big puppy eyes that she figured out 2 weeks ago works on her mom constantly. "i'll keep her company mom! i want to see it too!" zakuro said in the midst of it, walking to the eldest's side. her mom sighed but relented, wondering to herself if they were going to be a handful as the staff reassures her that he'll watch over them. chizuru holds their hands together as they walk into the studio

 2006  "are you sure you want to do this shizuka?" the girl looked up as she finishes tying her shoes, flashing the same toothy grin identical to her sister 3 years ago. and in those span of 3 years, she took the same dance classes as her sister, in a flash she suddenly got recruited by the people who recruited her siblings a year ago. "of course i do! it'll be so fun!" shizuka jumped up on the floor, her twin tails bouncing along. chizuru smiled at her little sister's enthusiasm, while zakuro scoffed "i bet you just don't want to be alone and just copy whatever-OW!" the boy yowled as shizuka pressed right into the fresh bruise on his arm that he gained on practice, giggling at his pain. although, he's not wrong - she can't lie and say to herself that she's doing it out of her own will. when both chizuru and zakuro was recruited, she can't help but feel lonely without them, and she wants to go where they go. especially wherever chizuru goes. 

 2010  shizuka pants as she runs off backstage alongside other kids with identical outfits. she could feel her heartbeat in her ears, the sweat on her back and her body's hot temperature after giving her all on the stage. she didn't even remember the hours in the morning when she was so nervous for her first stage as EXILE's back dancer. of course, it isn't her first time dancing on the stage, but this time it's different. the blinding lights, the booming music, and the artists passionately singing and dancing alongside them. and of course, the sound of people cheering and singing along. to be able to be in an auditorium and be on the stage where people watch you, not to judge or evaluate you, but they deliberately came because they love the art that you make. "shizuka? are you okay?" she could barely hear the person who asked "that..." at that moment, shizuka fell in love with the stage "that was awesome!" 

 2015  swinging her legs as she hummed a song, reading over the form that she filled just minutes ago and the cue number, #186. she looked up to see the swarm of people in the waiting room, with zakuro just in the corner near her practicing his routine. he has to move into his corner when he accidentally hit people 3 times in a row. a tap on the shoulder takes her back into reality, chizuru handing over the energy drink that she bought. circumstances brought the siblings to osaka, that circumstance being chizuru quitting LDH. shizuka understands why she had to leave, 11 years was far too long for a bunch of uncertainties. shizuka felt the same way, 8 years just being in EXPG KIDS did not do anything for her. what she doesn't understand is her brother, who had a locked future for him in the long run. chizuru was only doing it for her own sake, so the eldest doesn't understand why they decided to follow her. she might not understand her brother, but shizuka understands her sister. the decisions she made had led to shizuka loving the stage and enjoying where she was, despite how stagnant it was. plus she loves seeing her sister happy, and she would like to think that zakuro thought the same. so why is it, even after them pledging their loyalty to her so to speak, chizuru sighed heavily and her smile doesn't reach her eyes anymore. spending her life looking at her sister, she knows when she's hiding something. but shizuka can't seem to figure out what is she hiding "...185 and 186, please come to the room" no time to think, they have to make this one count 

 2016  it was like a pin drop in a silent room, the sound of her heart dropping to her stomach "i can't do this anymore, i quit..." chizuru quiet mumbles turned clear as she said it loudly for the first time, for herself and her two siblings. shizuka was speechless, but zakuro was the first one to speak up "we'll also-" "no! please..." as if knowing what he'll say, chizuru quickly turned down that thought. seeing their faces, chizuru sighed and covered her face in frustration. shizuka didn't want to admit it, but she was afraid to be right. she has noticed the difference in her, and she has known when she saw chizuru quietly crying in the bathroom. maybe she should've approached her, even if she knows she'll just hide it. but she was afraid, the usually strong and upbeat older sister, always knows what to do, knows the right decision - is now crumbling before them. shizuka gulped "onee-san...it's okay, let's do this together as a family. we'll find a way out together and-" "please shizuka stop!" chizuru's voice raised with a strain, an expression that she has never seen painted her "i can't keep making decisions for you both! i can't keep my head up with you both depending on me all the time!" her outbursts was a first, in all those years together she had never even been annoyed at them. but this was too much for her and too much for shizuka. tears streamed down chizuru's cheeks "please...you both have so much potential...and such a bright future, please don't throw it all away because of me" the sobs are more apparent. but something bothered shizuka, the words 'because of me'. yet rather than confronting that, she stood up and ran, with her name being called as she took off

 2017  "i only have 2 months left for my visa" jinhee looked up from tuning her guitar, the mood suddenly serious after the light-hearted chit-chat they had. shizuka is helping with setting up, tinkering with the amplifier as a somber expression clouds her "what are you planning to do?" shizuka shrugged "zakuro's already set with yg so i guess i'll spend the last month with him whenever i can" jinhee raised her eyebrow "so you're just giving up?" no matter how kind jinhee can be, sometimes she has a bite in her words. shizuka whipped her head as if wanting to protest, but the memories of what happened alongside the rejection of not getting accepted into any companies makes her halt. tears welled up in her eyes, but she turned away and wiped her eyes "i'll go back to japan with nee-san, i don't know what's going to happen next" it's hard to face her sister, wanting to forget everything and pretending to be normal again is easier said than done. especially when she can see the guilt riddled all over chizuru's face. jinhee's sigh brought her back to reality "then we'll make the 2 months fun okay?" she pat her shoulder, the smile coming back to shizuka. she doesn't know what her future will hold, but she was grateful that jinhee is here to keep her grounded in the present. what they both don't realize, is the man approaching them will change her future

🎀  FASHION  being very passionate about what she wears and how she presents herself, shizuka had taken up a keen skill in fashion. not just appreciating itself, she has drawn some of her designs and learned how to upcycle her own clothes to her vision. although this is only her hobby and no more than a passion project of hers, she wishes to enroll to university for fashion design

🎀  FRIENDS/MAKING FRIENDS  we have already established that she is a people's person, she values friendship a lot in her professional and personal life. the upside of having many friends is having many connections, but shizuka doesn't see it that way and her friendships are genuine. there's not a day where she does a favor to someone or someone owing a favor to her, shizuka always seem to know somebody and everybody

🎀   CUTE THEMES  shizuka is not shizuka if not squealing about something cute. all of her things are very cute and so much pink that people would start seeing green. it doesn't matter if it's not functional, doesn't taste good or even has a  less-than-ideal quality, she will buy it if it looks cute to her. her bedroom is littered with plushies, her makeup has elaborate styles, her closet is packed to the brim and she always goes to a cafe that has a cute assortment of food. and of course, the theme that she has the most relates to kirby

🎀  J-HIPHOP  appearances aside, she has been listening to japanese hiphop as she grew up. influenced by her siblings and the music played in the dance studio. she has more of an interest towards female acts such as chanmina, akkogorilla, awich, yayoi daimon, etc. she also listen to female hiphop artists outside of the j-hiphop sphere but she doesn't go out of her way to seek them

🎀  LEARNING  shizuka's philosphy in life is to never stop learning and there will always be knowledge undiscovered. shizuka is always eager to learn something new and be a jack of all trades. even though she might not always be good at those things, she will always be proactive and not back down to any kind of challenges

DISLIKES.

🎀  EARLY MORNINGS  shizuka is not and never is a morning person, always the one pressing the snooze button and mumble "5 more minutes...". she's not the last one to wake up nor is it hard to wake her up, having the willingness to get out the bed and loiter there is the problem. the dorm manager has to drag her out and shove her into the bathroom to shower

🎀  GYM  having siblings that are gymrats and considers going to the gym has it's pros and cons. the pros being the activity is healthy and it is a good way to bond. the cons being that shizuka hates high intensity workouts, and they always do high intensity because they know that she "can do it". not to mention that they drag her out of the bed first thing in the morning, so she doesn't really have the time to realise what's going on until she's heaving on the ground. the same thing also happens when she's training

🎀 STRONG FLORAL FLAVOUR  yes, she loves flower themed food and drinks as they give a variety of pretty colors, but really detests how it taste. other than warm teas, she thinks that floral flavored milk teas or coffee taste too artificial, like she's drinking a perfume until she gets a little nauseous

🎀  MINIMALISM  as someone who believes in accesorising and decorating to their maximum capabilities, she doesn't like how empty and hollow minimalism is. although she commends how it can look sleek and clean, she thinks that it doesn't show someone's personality clearly. shizuka doesn't force anyone if that's what they like, but you'll caught her dead before becoming a minimalist

🎀  AWKWARD SILENCE  awkwardness kills her and she can't stand not filling the silence with her own ramblings. but her efforts to combat those might result in even more awkward tension, by then her overcompensation will struck down and she has to go elsewhere to run away from the feeling

🎀 she has a weird laugh, tries to hide it with a soft giggle but eventually goes to "GUHAHAHA"

🎀 she's not picky with her food, not really having any favorite cuisine and holding up the visuals of the food more. but the food that she genuinely likes without it having to look cute or "presentable" are fruits. she constantly snacks on fruits and can survive having breakfast with it. enjoys other snacks that has fruit as it's main ingredient (tanghulu, fruit sando, etc)

🎀 her camera always eats first, she tries not to take too long but she can't resists taking aesthetic pictures and arranging them to make it presentable. usually needs her phone taken away so people can start eating

🎀 has really bad shopping impulse control, online shopping does not help her with this. usually can be seen doom scrolling on online shops and if not supervised, could clear all of her 99+ shopping cart filled with random trinkets in just a month, then rinse and repeat

🎀 despite her nickname, she's actually not a big fan of cheese. she doesn't mind it when it's an accompaniment ingredient of the food, but she tends to gravitate away from food that is heavily concentrated on cheese. which is a funny moment when asked if she does like cheese because of her nickname

🎀 dances that she learned the most is house and lyrical hip hop, she loves anything that involves elaborate footworks

🎀 her stamina and energy runs in her family but she's the only one between her siblings that does not enjoy high intensity work out. to make up for it, she uses jumping rope and zumba for her exercise routine

🎀 for her first evaluation to get into mhd, she danced and sang to BoA's Only One. during the partner sequence, she decided to do the male counterpart role to showcase her capabilities as a performer. this clip was half-released in MOoDY TV as a part of their documentary before the full footage alone was uploaded alongside other members

🎀 in a try not to sing or dance challenge, she will be the one who completely loses. even to the songs that she doesn't recognise, she will start bopping her head or completely dances around

🎀 physically, has a high pain tolerance. when she's getting tattoos, she feel little to no pain. but will cry if she breaks a nail

THE IDOL + TRAINING. 

training history.

🎀  LDH EXPG KIDS | 2006 - 2014 
shizuka was recruited a year later after her siblings just at the time of her entering elementary school. despite being recruited, she is the weakest link in terms of skills between her siblings, considering she was the only one who didn't take intensive classes, and a late bloomer amongsts other dancers in LDH. thus her training was more grueling and private before she was put into any official groups. in 2009, she was put into the competition lineup for EXPG KIDS, the same time her sister left the lineup for E-GIRLS training. shizuka was exceptional in the genre that she loves most, exceptional enough to be featured in EXILE'S music video as a part of EXPG KIDS and their concerts as back-up dancers & special performance features with her siblings. but she was not exceptional enough to be picked up in another roster for official groups. some say it was because of her young age, some say it's because she needed more training as she still needs to compete with her fellow teammates in EXPG KIDS to even be considered, some say she just doesn't have that factor. all these things were whispered behind her back, but she had to stay put, because her siblings are there and she is loyal to them. either way, when chizuru decided to leave and her brother followed suit, she was slightly relieved to walk away from a dying dream.

🎀  SM Entertainment | 2015 - 2016 
loyalty has its own cost, and it costs a year of searching for another company who would accept all 3 of them at once. different companies has different requirements, and not all of them have that at the same time. frustration welled up in them, shizuka didn't want to admit it but maybe this isn't for her. seeing her sister's determination was what kept her going. the 2015 osaka open audition came, and they held their breath. loyalty has its own cost, and it costs the three of them on a trip to south korea.

idol training came naturally to her. the training regiment was as intense as to what she's used to, the sm idol formula fits her as she is more flexible to learn new dance skills and language was not a problem when she picked it up quite quickly. much to her own surprise, she discovered her other talent in their vocal training. she had the potential to further it, and now she spends more time in the vocal studio than the dance studio. half a year has passed for her and everything was going well. she enjoyed herself, although the competition is still there, she feels that there is a chance for her to make a difference. a chance for her to be a part of something that matters to her and other people. tomorrow is a brighter day for her.

🎀  MHD Entertainment | 2017 - present 
plucked off from the streets after busking was the last thing she expected to happen. she thought it must be a joke from the universe, all this time auditioning to big and small companies with no results, ended up with a person handing her a business card. but it was no joke. it wasn't a joke when she ended up in the mhd building, it wasn't a joke when she was evaluated and it wasn't a joke when she officially became a part of mhd's trainee. her own expectations was also heavily challenged when she was put into the vocal-centric trainees. mr. choi and minji lim saw a potential just waiting to shine, the potential being her voice. they deemed her enough in her dance factor, after all they found their star in dancing in the form of kang hana, now they just need the unique voice of shizuka to shine through.

fitting in was not hard for shizuka, naturally friendly and language barrier not being a problem for her, she was well-liked by the staffs and other trainees alike. the genuine aura that she has makes her easy to approach and talk to, it helps with her being active in everything and her willingness to learn everything. the only challenge she has is to go above and beyond what she was trained in sm, known as the powerhouse of vocals in the entertainment industries. she was trained as a lead vocalist in sm, but in mhd they had other plans for her. not used to the position that she is given, they still had to give her criticism, harsh or not, to push her limits. and every single time, she has to go to the bathroom to cry to calm her sensitive heart. sometimes she wouldn't even make it to the bathroom after a particular harsh scolding, the other trainees comforting and reassuring her that it will be okay. but she wants to push through, she doesn't want to give up her dimming dream just yet. no matter how many tears she has and will shed, she wants to be a part of something that matters to her and other people.

🎀  YOUHA (v)  during the debut phase, her voice is slightly nasally with a cheerful tone. a perfect voice combination for a pop princess and bubblegum pop songs. when violeta releases, a more somber and ballad-like voice was trained into her and showcased her growth as a main vocalist. shizuka decided to broaden her horizon and dip her toes into a sultry and seductive sound down her career, utilising her nasally voice to have a more husky feature that akins to a siren. however her main specialty is still pop-y and a voice that you can hear that she's smiling while singing

🍭 older sister : 草薙千鶴 kusanagi chizuru / model based in japan and korea / charismatic, bold, assertive & self-doubtful / currently a 7/10

the original and actual onee-san, the object of shizuka's sisterly affection and her role model. if her older brother is the splitting personality in terms of bravado, shizuka's earlier social skills was born because of chizuru. young shizuka spend her time observing the way she interacted with people and how easily she blends with different social group, which became the trait that she adores much about her sister.

she puts a lot of her trust in her sister's decisions and follows her out of loyalty, that's why shizuka was crushed when chizuru bared all of her feelings when leaving the entertainment industry. guilt riddled her and realisation came crashing down over the fact that she has been too reliant on her older sister, despite chizuru reassuring the younger girl that it is in no way causing a rift between them and she still loves her dearly. but the only way that shizuka knows what to do during a conflict, although caused by her own personal feelings, is to run away. in a way, training takes her mind out of it and when they do meet, the awkward tension is apparent. she misses her sister dearly and wants to reconnect, but she has to wake up herself and have an honest talk between them
 

🎯 older brother : 草薙石榴 kusanagi zakuro / trainee at yg entertainment / energetic, passionate, hot-tempered & simple-minded / 8/10

if the sisterly bond between shizuka and chizuru are like the movies, zakuro and her are more realistic so to speak. their days are filled with arguments and teasing each other, finding her older brother to be a while zakuro sees her as a little child and continues to treat her as one. everyone would think that shizuka will be a stopgap for zakuro when the eldest are not around, they would be wrong as zakuro does not listen to her at all while she struggles to keep her brother in line. her childishness becomes more amplified and soon she'll throw a tantrum to get her brother to listen to her. not like they don't have a bond of their own; like any other siblings that fight, they still know that they got each other's back and their intent towards each other were never malicious. when push comes to shove, zakuro will be the first to protect her (and then on how much she cried)

in a way, shizuka felt jealous on how easy zakuro "moved on" from the incident. yes they both went on their separate ways, but zakuro was able to interact normally with chizuru as if nothing happened. he doesn't dwell on things and was quick to accept the gravity of the situation, while shizuka still felt an overwhelming guilt inside her heart. she wishes that she can be as simple-minded as him and talk about how he handles it. but her pride always get in the way. maybe there are some things that she can learn from her brother
 

🎸 close friend : 박진휘 park jinhee / busking artist / easy-going, intuitive, ambitious and confrontational / 8/10

her first korean friend and the one that sticks with her throughout it all, their friendship is easily described as "birds of a feather flock together". once shizuka has gotten a hold of her korean skills, jinhee was the first person she had a conversation with other than her trainers. luckily for her, jinhee has a personality that is easy to approach and shizuka has no problem in socialising. in no time, they became friends as both are put into the same vocal training roster. the attractiveness of jinhee's laidback personality, ambitions of becoming a solo artist and this rock n' roll charm she has makes being friends with her nothing short than pleasant and beneficial. jinhee's ambitions really rubbed on shizuka and resulted in her becoming more resilient in what she wants (despite doing it with tears streaming down her face), with jinhee of course supporting her

when shizuka left sm, they were a slight distance that were unfortunately put because of jinhee's busy schedule as a trainee. what dumbfounded shizuka is them meeting at a café and jinhee telling her that she quit sm, figuring out that maybe being in an idol-centric company doesn't suit her and deciding to do some more underground works instead. being the ever so supportive friend that she is and seeing opportunities opening up for the both of them, she decided to put shizuka on board with her busking team. being a vocal & dance busking team on the clock, accompanying shizuka in her auditions and being there to comfort in her current situation, they have grown immensely close in their friendship. when they were both recruited, jinhee decided to not join as it doesn't align with what she wants. but she promises that no matter where they both go, they'll have each other's back. and they both promises to attend each other's first stage as an artist.

🐸 close friend : 水野花 mizuno hana / trainee at mhd and future MOoD RING / 8/10

"kero-chan!" will always be heard echoing around the studio as she beelines to hana to show her a tiktok or ask her about a certain bug she found. hana is a year older than her but being a fellow japanese, fellow dancer and highly amused by her unique personality, she sticks to her and most often being seen together. professionally, she respects hana a lot because of her dance ability and trusts her with her teaching methods towards her teammate. showing willingness to learn from her, their time is often filled in the dance studio making choreographies or doing dance challenges that shizuka asked her to do together. friend-wise, she finds hana to be adorable and easy to be around. always enabling her in everything she does and not one to back down from doing something humorous together. although neutral towards bugs and critters, if hana shows her something, you know damn well shizuka will listen intently and ask inquiries about it. though if taken to a nature hike, she will go "reluctantly" (she'll go, she has a fear of missing out on things)
 

🌿 teammate : 임이슬 fern lim iseul / trainee at mhd and future MOoD RING / 8/10

lovingly nicknamed "ponpon-chan", people have said that both of them are two individuals made of the same cloth, other than the way fern always seem to have cute outbursts whenver someone is teasing her and quick with . shizuka is not one to though, she's the one who goes to comfort the younger girl and playfully scolds whoever is teasing her in good fun, emphatising that her "brother does that a lot". but she also recognises how strong fern actually is, always watching her proudly, vouching for her hardwork and not silent when it comes to cheering her on. sometimes wipes a fake tear while remarking "ponpon-chan is a big girl now" (they're only a year apart). 
 

💜 teammate : 송아연 song ayeon / trainee at mhd and future MOoD RING / 8/10

shizuka is "papa ari's" source of current trends, always copying the slangs that she uses and asking the younger girl to teach her a dance trend. shizuka never ever discourages her and willingly teaches her everything new, reveling in the cringed looks of her other members and most of the time joining in with aria. giving her affirmations that aria is indeed "a cool dad". although some language barrier has a way to block of the dad jokes, she still laughs with her and humoring everything that she does. all the fun times aside, shizuka spent a lot of time with her when she makes music. how often does she spend in the vocal studio with aria to provide her with vocals for a new demo is countless, if anything she thanks aria for expanding her vocal skills. the genius producer experiments with various sounds and with her guidance, shizuka's growth as a vocalist was kickstarted by her. everyday is a new excitement whenever aria asks for her help, and everyday is a new day to learn.
 

🦇 teammate : 송라니 joey song rani / trainee at mhd and future MOoD RING / 5/10

much like the majority, shizuka was terrified of joey when she was first introduced. her intense eyes and bored expression was enough to intimidate the younger girl to only talk to her when it's necessary and avoid her all other times. it doesn't make it easier due to the fact that joey doesn't really fraternise with the extroverts and taciturn by nature, only speaking when addressed to and shizuka rarely does the addressing. the thing that made shizuka swallow her fear and talk to her is when she recognises the dress that the older girl is wearing when going on an outing, remarking (with a shaky voice) that she loves the brand and has a similar dress in a different colour. although it needs more work when it comes to their relationship, she came to understand that joey is just visually misunderstood and doesn't really care about how her peers perceive her, instead shizuka feels bad for feeling so fearful for no reason other than she looks intimidating. after that, she takes more intiative to talk to her more and include her in things, even if she feels like she's walking on eggshells when she does and even if shizuka knows joey will politely rejects. she tries her best to have a good relationship with her and joey appreciates it. maybe down the line shizuka will be more comfortable and joey will be more open-minded in things.

shizuka is not immune to geontaek's harmless playful flirting and can be seen blushing & giggling whenever that darn man opens his mouth. although not more than a labelmate, shizuka finds it easy having a conversation with him due to his laidback nature, texting him about the latest gossip in Mo/oN or just sending memes to each other. although the only time geontaek initiates the talk is to ask how shizuka is doing, before asking how joey is doing in the group. needless to say, shizuka was only slightly shocked when the dating ban is lifted and the couple has been dating for quite some time, but still not getting over the fact how odd the pairing is

"outside of being an idol, i am everyone's cheerleader! i always try my best to uplift my friends and support them in whatever they do, because i believe that everyone is destined to do something great and i'm happy to be able to see my groupmates' journey in our training. in return, i also get their encouragements and their cheers are what keeps me going through hard times" chuckling to herself as she reminiscence "i'm very thankful to every one of my friends <3" making a heart with her arms as she smile brightly

🎀 shizuka sat there then looked down at her whole pink get up before giggling "well i suppose it's already obvious which one that i will choose" briefly stopping before asking for her phone from the manager "i actually did a little research about mood rings once we knew about our concept" scrolling through her gallery for a bit before showing a picture of a mood ring color chart "i was contemplating using a color that suits my personality a lot, because i didn't want to just use a color that i like the most and not properly represent who i am" she muses as she swipes multiple images of different charts "but i actually found out that pink or red violet mostly means happy or cheerful!" a smile beams up as she gives her phone back to the manager "isn't that a good coincidence? i would say that anything in the spectrum of pink will suit me a lot"

🎀 playing with her thumbs while humming in thought "it would be great if we can have a successful debut and gain a lot of fans" she smiles sheepishly "i have a lot of ambition on what i want to achieve as a group, such as a rookie of the year award! but outside of those ambitions, i wish that our group and our music means something to someone, even if there's only a few. the highest honour as a musician is for our art to be appreciated and loved, at least that's what i think"

comments. i'm honestly missing chizuru and zakuro, and because of that i had this aggressive need to complete the siblings. but yes! i have changed the canon story for the siblings to fit into shizuka's narrative and growth more. i've been lurking quite a bit (as you can probably tell) but never had the time or energy to make a character that is good enough, i don't know if it's because it's a character that is already OAU (oddish applyfic universe) canon that i just started writing on my own. i hope you do enjoy shizuka and the mentions of the siblings. do let me know if you have any questions and i hope you consider her for MOoD RING! thank you momo <3
