background

han gayeon is a strong person, she had always been a woman who rises above the misfortunes she's going through. the only time she had ever felt beaten down was when her ex-husband left with a mistress and most of their fortune, leaving her and their-no...her son behind. at that moment she realises that she must be strong. but not just for herself anymore, especially for her son that she adores so much. she left seoul to return to the place where she was raised, cheonan, to be back with her parents. after explaining the situation that happened, her parents decided that they will take care of her son while she works back in seoul to help providing for him. despite being hesitant, gayeon knows that this is the best course for her boy to have the life that he deserves. she's not about to let one man ruin everything for them both. she spent a month with him, she did not cry when she sees him waving goodbye as the train leaves for seoul, as she knows that this is not goodbye.

han dooyeon is a calm child, he almost never throw any tantrums and always do as he told. his grandparents worry because he isn't like the other neighbourhood kids where it should be the age where they're running around wildly and not caring about what the adults tell them to do. but as times goes by, they realise it's just his personality. it's not like he wasn't blending in, he was adequately social and have made a few friends at his school & around the neighbourhood. but the only time he was truly starry-eyed and excited is when his mother comes to visit. she would bring souvenirs and snacks from seoul, along with the stories of her job. but he was truly the happiest when he sits in her lap and she shows the book of poetry that's always been filled more and more whenever she comes back. she would read to him, explains the stories behind the words and taught him how to do it himself, he listens to her attentively and takes down notes when he needs to. sometimes he would write his own poems and show her, her praising him on his artistry and on how he's a natural. but those are the times he would show his poetry, and only to his mother & grandparents. the other kids think it's weird, that it's just a bunch of words. they don't understand it like he does, they don't understand it like his mom does

his life will change forever at 2010 when his mom offered for a vacation to seoul. she didn't have to explain anything and he already said yes

      🐋 catdooy - he has a cat ear headband given by one of the SLJK trainee on his birthday as an ironic gift. but dooyeon, weirdly, likes it a lot and unironically starts wearing it all the time even when the cameras are not on. on fansigns, the fans starts gifting him more cat ears and paws but he would only frequently 

       🐋 dooyrito - dooyeon is always frequently seen eating doritos and because he can't say the products name, he always says that he's eating "dooyritos". at one segment, he bought a bunch of doritos to review them. his favourite flavours are nacho cheese and korean cool ranch 

      🐋 gogo - once it was revealed that his stage name will be gorae, the other members calls him gogo or gogo-nim when recordings happen

    🐋 captain maknae - when the positions are given to them, not only is dooyeon the youngest amongst the captains and (possibly) in the vocal unit, he's also in the maknae line in tarot. members and fans alike has described him as a successful "(almost)maknae on top"

  🐋 this is 멍멍소리 - he has a habit of saying 멍멍소리 (meongmeongsori/woofwoof sound). what he's actually saying is 개소릐 (gaesori) which means bull. but of course because it's a curse word, he's not gonna say it. so instead he says 멍멍 (meongmeong) to replace the gae. he still gets his message across and people always burst out laughing because he always say "this is 멍멍소리" in the most exasperated konglish accent

        🐋 wow you're really 또lie - another thing he says is 또lie (ddo-lie) which is a play on the word 또라이 (ddorai). ddorai means someone who is crazily funny or someone who is so funny they must be crazy (or another variation of saying crazy). although not necessarily a curse word, it's still a very rough sounding sounding word. instead he said 또-lie, because the lie sounds like rai. it gets people to whip their head to him and he's like "no no, i said ddo-lie". it could also be used for "you're lying again?" because 또 means again. so he's saying "또 lie???" (lie again???)

   --   post songs   dooyeon as gorae has a signature of sad hopeless romantic songs. but dooyeon as...well dooyeon, likes to make "meme songs" on his free time (mostly him rapping)

[ nerves ] -- the third song of the english project, and one of two title tracks for the EP that is released on the same day, MITO (Moodswings In This Order).
