BACKGROUND

Dokyeom has psychologists for parents, both of them wanted him to live a life like this name meaning: one who follows the path of modesty. They did everything they thought was best for him and raised him with a lot of love and support. They put him in the best schools and didn't put too much pressure but were still firm. They were the perfect parents in a textbook. Dokyeom is the only child and grew up feeling more like an experiment. His parents thought they totally understood him because of their job. Even though his mother is a well known child psychologists with many best seller books on raising children he felt that she didn't really try to understand him but instead generalized him according to studies.

He was a good kid that followed what his parents wanted him to do and got good grades and never rebelled. So his parents thought their job was amazing. But really they don't know him at all. They want him to be a psychologist too and he showed good signs because he excelled in sciences. But actually he fell in love with art and tattoos. He always wanted one and dreamed of opening his own shop someday. When college came he chose JJU because he wanted to get away from them and have freedom. But also because his tattoo idol Tattoo Yoo is there and he wants to work under him as an apprentice. He plans to go to his tattoo shop and show him his drawings and become an apprentice. But his major is psychology with a business minor because he doesn't know how to break it to his parents yet.

dokyeom's personality mostly comes out with people he knows. he isn't the kind of person to talk to strangers easily, other than small talk it'll get awkward fast. he usually doesn't put himself in those kind of situations though, he won't go out to meet new people unless he's with a friend. with his friends he's a playful person, you know he's comfortable with you when he makes fun of you. especially when he's doing something competitive, he gets really into it and is the type to trash talk. but he cares a lot for his friends too, he tries to help them however he can to see them happy.

typically he doesn't like getting out of his comfort zone. he's not used to doing anything daring so he's hesitant to try new things and be adventurous. oddly he's an easy going person, his passiveness makes him go along with what his friends want to do but he can't be easily persuaded to do things he doesn't want to. he can be slefish with how he spends his time because just because someone is willing to spend a lot of time with him he might not reciprocate it especially if he's dedicated to doing something. its not that he doesnt care, he's just an only child so he wasnt raised to be considerate in that way. he doesn't see it wrong actually. strict parents make sneaky kids so he's good at hiding things and supressing things. but he isn't good at realizing people's little hints or changes unless its really obvious. if you want something for your birthday you have to say it because he at remembering those things. he would get something he thinks you'll like because he likes it too. he can be defined as emotionally unavailable, he just keeps it to himself and deals with it on his own. since he's so stuck in his ways, his life is just comfortable and stagnant but then again he doesn't mind.

UNIVERSITY LIFE

MAJOR Psychology with Business minor.
ROOM PREFERENCES His roommate is Dabin. He can be pretty messy but Dabin takes care of it so its fine. 

SCHEDULE He will take general education and psychology major classes in the morning. The rest of the day would either be being with friends or drawing/tattooing. He would also go to parties on the weekends but only if he’s free. Tattooing comes first.

DIRECTION At first he will try hard in his classes because he doesn’t want to disappoint his parents. He tries to get a job on the tattoo as an apprentice but he doesn’t accept him. He practices with fake skin and seeing how talented he is Dabin gave him the idea that he should start tattooing out of the dorm room to show Tattoo Yoon that it’s not so hard. So then he put all his effort into that and his grades start slipping. With Dabin‘s help he gets a lot of clients too. He’s happy that he’s doing what he loves and gaining experience. If he gets caught he could be in big trouble though and he doesn’t know how he will break it to his parents that he doesn’t want to be a psychologist. Other than that he just wants to live a normal college life, maybe join a club or esports and hopefully lose his ity before Dabin because they made a bet.

hello! welcome to the jeju university family! can you tell me a bit about yourself?

Hi my name is Daniel and I’m from Seoul. That’s about it I guess.

out of all the colleges in korea, why did you pick jeju university and why your major?

I wanted to get away from Seoul, my parents can be kind of overbearing. I chose to be a psychology major because my parents are psychologists and I have to continue the family business.

where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I guess as a psychologist helping people with their problems? I don’t know.

what would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

I think my biggest strength is that I’m a good artist, at least in my eyes. My biggest weakness would be that I’m not good at standing up for myself.

as a freshman you will reside in chungsam hall, what do you look for in a roommate? any lifestyle habits that you find intolerable?

I don’t know I can be kind of messy so I hope my roommate doesn’t mind. It’ll be nice to get along but I guess I will be fine alone too.

what are you looking forward to the most as an incoming freshman?

Jeju has really beautiful scenery so I’m looking forward to using that as inspiration for my art. My biggest inspiration works in Jeju so I’m really looking forward to meeting him.

PERSONALITY Dabin is super outgoing and talks a lot. Good luck in ever trying to beat him in a debate. There’s not a shy bone in his body. But he can be a bit awkward and say something that would make it kind of silent. Usually it’s a dad joke that’s really lame that it makes you feel sorry for him but Dokyeom finds it hilarious. He has a creative mind and comes up with many ideas and plans that are sometimes dumb. Dokyeom has no idea how he can come up with things so fast. He can really sell you anything with how good he is at hyping things up. He's good at getting bargains too from the autie stores but they all love him. He takes loyalty very seriously and will stand up for any friend he makes. Sometimes he can be really loud with it though. He is the youngest in the family but dotes on his friends like a mom or older brother sometimes. Around girls he can act greasy and like he’s trying too hard because he is.

BACKGROUND Dabin comes from a wealthy family that owns a consulting firm. He has an older brother that is really good at business so Dabin was always kind of insecure. He isn’t sure that he can live up to his brother but since he’s a business major he’s trying. He wants to prove to his parents that he can be just as good as his brother. He chose JJU because his family Yonsei alumni‘s and he didn’t want to follow that path. He wanted to show that he can make it on his own.

LOVE STORY Dokyeom meets Dabin on move in day because they are roommates. They become fast friends and their opposite personalities make them close. They actually made a bet together to see who would lose their ity first because they’re both inexperienced s that haven’t been kissed either. But Dabin is trying a lot harder than Dokyeom and failing miserably.

Dabin tags along with Dokyeom to meet Tattoo master Yoon and he gets mad at how he shut Dokyeom down so he had the idea to do tattoos out of their room to prove him wrong. As a business major Dabin would promote it for him but make sure that it’s kept a secret. He becomes like his business partner that manages the clients and stuff. They spend so much time together and get so comfy that eventually Dabin realizes that he likes Dokyeom and none of the girls he tries to get compare to the great time they have. He even gets jealous of the girls that Dokyeom talks to for the bet. But he doesn’t know if Dokyeom likes him like that. Or even swings that way.

INTERACTIONS Anyone could tell that they are best friends. They do everything together and tease each other a lot. Sometimes they would walk around linking arms and other students get confused if there is a couple or not. Get breakfast together, Dabin drops him off to class, they When they are around girls they hype each other up to go back to them and then they fail miserably and the other one laughs and buys him a strawberry milk because it’s both their favorites. They care deeply for each other and it shows because whenever they separate they always say I love you bro first. Even in their dorm their relationship is the same as the outside. Sometimes Dabin treats him like a son because of how much he dotes on him.
