•.*❥ Kia 기아 if you pronounce Ki-ya fast enough, it sounds like the South Korean car brand instead. This is used among her friends, group mates in Pandora and DAL Media staff, artists and trainees, but it’s her fans that address her by this name more frequently.
•.*❥ Sae-ggi 새끼 a swear word in Korean which roughly translates to “son of a ” or “”. This is only used by people who know Kiki for the person she is beneath the surface, who knows that she’s nowhere near as good as she makes herself out to be on the outside.
Birth place Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
Hometown Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
Nationality Japanese
Ethnicity Japanese
•.*❥ Korean 85% fluent. Given that she has promoted in South Korea as an idol and singer since 2016, it makes sense that she’s become highly proficient in the language, though she struggles with phrases and sayings at times. She pretty much sounds like a native, having lost her accent a couple of years ago, though she sometimes lapse into Japanese when she has trouble conveying what she wants to say, or when she’s in the heat of the moment.
•.*❥ English 70% fluent. Having to communicate with English-speaking fans and needing to take language classes has certainly helped her achieve proficiency in the language. However, as phrasing in English differs from that of Japanese and Korean, she sometimes struggles to form grammatically-correct sentences, and needs someone to translate for her fairly often.
•.*❥ Mandarin 10% fluent. Considering that she’s only started taking Mandarin classes after becoming a trainee at DAL Media, it makes sense that her mastery of the language is so low. Her thick accent and pronunciation has become a laughing point among her fans, but she doesn’t care too much about it. She’s slowly getting better in the language though.

Aside from fitting in with Korean beauty standards well, from her pale skin to her heart-shaped face to her eyes that’s so easy to get lost in, there’s something about Kiki that warrants a second glance in her direction. Despite having a petite stature, she has such a strong presence, which is only accentuated by that delicate smile of hers. There’s an X factor to her, with how she ever so effortlessly draws people in, making sure they focus on her when she’s in the spotlight, and causing difficulty to divert their attention to someone else. Little do they know, behind that face is someone who’s hyperfocused on what step she’s planning to take, be it making a good impression or causing some mischief.
With the current dark brown hair with bangs she sports, it makes her look like the girl next door, someone you’d want to take home to meet your parents. What you may not know, though, is that she can effortlessly switch between hairstyles and colours, making her look like she came straight out of an anime or a good girl gone bad, but still looking gorgeous no matter what. She also has multiple piercings on both ears, to the point she’s the member of Pandora with the most number of ear piercings. She doesn’t have any tattoos yet, though she’s contemplating getting a couple in the future.
Kiki’s quite the fan of high-end fashion, owning several pieces from such brands. Like that tweed jacket and skirt set from Chanel, the handbag from Prada, the Burberry buckle skirt in its signature checkered print, or the leather beret from Dior. Little wonder she’s known for her stylistic choices, since she updates her wardrobe rather often.
It’ll be wrong to assume, though, that she only dresses in luxury brands. She also goes for everyday brands too, like Adidas or ADLV or H&M. That one plain, white tee she sees in a shop? As long as it’s of good quality and it looks to be worth her money, she’ll totally get them.
All that’s now left for her to do is to complete her look with a pair of shoes that fits the outfit she’s wearing, grab a matching bag and put on some minimalistic jewellery pieces, and she’s ready to hit the streets.
When she’s at the practice rooms or at the dorms, of course she’s not going to dress up like how she does when she’s heading out. However, she’ll make sure that she’s decked in a T-shirt and shorts or joggers that’s just right for her, all while making sure her hair isn’t too out of place.

Most people know Kiki as someone who has the ability to make herself part of the spotlight. Perhaps that’s something that’s worked to her favour, with how long she has been involved in the entertainment industry. She goes from person to person, ever so effortlessly striking up a conversation even when the other person’s a complete stranger, and she even has a few moments where she slips in a joke or a funny comment, or both.
“It’s hard not to like her.” That's what someone who doesn’t know Kiki all that well will say. Behind that image Kiki puts out to everyone is a girl who’s always on the lookout, ready to strike whenever things don’t go her way. Or maybe her acute observation skills were born out of a necessity to survive in this world. Please others and make them feel good while looking out for herself.
What happens if someone wrongs her, some way or another? It’ll be in the best interest of that person to pray that Kiki will let them off, if ever at all. She’s capable of holding grudges for a long time. Yes, she absolutely will hold her tongue in their presence and make sure that she keeps up appearances. But deep inside, she’s thinking of how she can best exact her revenge on the other person. The worst part of it? The person might just find themselves in hot soup, but no one will know that it’s possible that Kiki is behind this. She’s too much of a good girl, but little do they know, she’s just good at covering her tracks.
But even if that person hasn’t offended Kiki, they might just find themselves bending over backwards for her, but not necessarily realising it. She’s just too damn good with her words, making others feel that they are doing a good job by helping her with something. And when someone finally gets caught up with what she’s really doing and confronts her about it? She’s already come up with a valid reason why she’s doing what she’s doing. She’s no stranger to throwing someone under the bus or deflecting blame on others, as long as not too much harm will be inflicted upon herself.
You could call her attempts at minimising damage done to herself as her way of protecting herself from a world which has wronged her too many times. From the time that she was born up to now, was there ever really someone who looked out for her, let alone loved her? Kiki has no answer to that. Her parents were a disappointment. So was her previous entertainment company. And her former bandmate, too. No one really treated her with respect, so why should she do the same towards other people? Evidently, respect needs to be earned, not given. Just because someone’s many years older than her does not exempt them from treating her like . If they even so much as try to show her the tiniest amount of disrespect, she’s quick to call them out for it.
If there’s anything that can unite Kiki’s virtues and vices, it’ll be to the lengths she’s willing to go. She’s not someone who gives up that easily, always striving to be better at what she does. Neither does she give up easily when things go south. So many people are desperate for results to come quickly, without considering the possibility that some things just take more time to develop. And perhaps the day where Kiki no longer has to put up with the cruelty inflicted on her will come someday.
But even when that day comes, this doesn’t take away the possibility that the people around her won’t always support her, be there for her. What if they stab her behind the back? What if she gets hurt again? She can’t afford people getting too close to her, and if someone attempts to, she’ll keep them at arm’s length. Discreetly, of course.
Who would be the person to help her realise that she doesn’t always need to live the way she does?
Kiki never really remembered a time when her father, Kiyohara Keiji, was fully in the picture. She was born in 1999 as an only child, and her parents divorced when she was just 3 years old. Her dad visited her, but eventually stopped that altogether when he remarried and devoted all his time to his new family. Does Kiki miss seeing her dad? If you asked her this question when she was 9 years old, she would say yes without a second thought. But if you asked her this question as a 21 year old, having known who his wife and half-siblings are, she would say no. She’s only visited them once, and that was when she was 10 years old.
For most of her life thus far, it was just her and her mother, Nakagawa Miho. Being a university dropout, she worked several odd jobs- baker, cashier, waiter and more, just to make ends meet. Even with the alimony, it still wasn’t quite enough to feed the family of two.
Despite living in a poky flat situated on a quiet street in Yokohama, Kiki could afford to watch television. Her favourite of the lot had to be music programmes, where the singers sang their hearts out, dancers were dressed in fancy outfits, and the audience clapped and cheered loudly for them. She soon became inspired to do the same, mimicking the way they sang and danced. Her mother definitely took notice of her interest in performing. If Kiki goes into performing, they could earn even more money, and if Kiki becomes a star, it’s a surefire way of getting themselves out of poverty.
And so, her mother began bringing Kiki to auditions all over Kanagawa Prefecture and neighbouring Tokyo.
Kiki met some success with her numerous auditions, having been selected to appear in commercials as early as 2005. Having discovered Kiki in one of the commercials she starred in, TV Tokyo, one of the major television networks in Japan, invited her to audition for their upcoming children’s show Kids’ Stage: Top of the Artists. She successfully clinched a role on the show, appearing as Amamiya Hikaru from 2009 to 2010.
After her stint as Amamiya Hikaru ended, she needed to find work, so that she could continue performing and bring an income to her family. That led her to audition for AKB48, one of the most famous girl groups in Japan. The management company was happy to sign her on, considering that she’s gained some fame from the TV show she appeared in and she demonstrated her love for performing very well.
She would later realise how hard it was being part of AKB48. She had some fame, but there were many older girls who have more fans than she does. She desires to be part of the Senbatsu, but the closest she’s gotten is being part of the Undergirls in 2012 because she ranked 30th, while her seniors like Sashihara Rino, Matsui Jurina and Watanabe Mayu were consistently ranking high in the election results. It became increasingly clear that she couldn’t be a star like her mother so desperately wanted her to be, so she announced her graduation from the group in 2014 to try and be famous in some other way.
She got scouted by Star World Entertainment just two months after graduating from AKB48. They were looking for potential candidates to form a duo aimed at both the Korean and Japanese markets, and, according to them, Kiki fit the bill. She was accepted as a trainee following her audition, and thus began life as an idol in South Korea.
After training for two years, she debuted alongside Seo Miyoung in the duo RE:TUNE in late 2016. Little did they expect, their debut song went viral on the Internet and by early 2017, they were well on their way to becoming one of the most famous duos in South Korea and Japan, exactly what the company wanted.
Back in Japan, Miho was overjoyed at the fact that she can expect herself to live in a luxurious condominium instead of the flat they’ve been living in for god knows how long. She was all too happy to tell anyone and everyone that her daughter was a child star once upon a time, was part of AKB48, the most famous girl group in Japan, and now a superstar in Japan and South Korea and the rest of the world. Her happily ever after was going to come true, but in South Korea, that clearly wasn’t the case for Kiki.
At the time of RE:TUNE’s debut, Kiki noticed that Miyoung got a lot more lines in their songs than she did, and a lot more screen time than she did in their music video. But Star World told her that she would get the chance to showcase her rapping abilities in future releases. And so she believed them, for a while. Both Kiki and Star World, however, couldn’t predict that the public generally liked Miyoung more than they liked Kiki, and the company was all too willing to give the public what they wanted.
Miyoung got commercials and appearances on TV shows, but Kiki barely did. Miyoung continued having an overwhelming number of lines in their future releases, while Kiki got a few ad libs, and maybe a line or two if Star World’s feeling generous. But despite relegating Kiki to the sidelines and Miyoung getting even more famous, the girls were best friends.
Well, that wasn’t true. The BFF image was something that the company wanted the girls to keep up. Behind closed doors, tensions were mounting, with Kiki’s resentment towards Miyoung and Star World growing by the day. Not to mention that her mother’s still waiting for her luxurious condominium back in Japan.
It came as a surprise to Kiki that in September 2019, Nakagawa Miho was killed in a car crash. But Kiki found herself feeling relieved instead of grief over her mother’s death. Perhaps it’s because her mother has always pushed for her to do things her way, to enter showbiz so that she could be rich and not need to work so hard, to take the money she earned because with how much she’s toiled, it’s expected for her daughter to repay her. Now that she’s no longer around, she won’t be looming over Kiki any longer and waiting to move into a luxurious condominium.
Things with her company eventually reached a boiling point when an argument between Kiki, Miyoung and some executives at Star World was leaked online. Just days following that news, it was announced that RE:TUNE will be disbanding at the end of June 2020, with Kiki leaving the company following the termination of her contract. And Miyoung? She continued to stay with the company, promoting as a soloist instead.
Although Kiki is much less popular than Miyoung is, there were still several companies sending out love calls to her. And who did she pick? DAL Media. Simply because the company’s the fastest to invite her to join the company and have another go at being an idol.
•.*❥ She dislikes being put down by others, things not going her way, milk tea, salted caramel, flying insects and Star World Entertainment.
•.*❥ She has a habit of doing deep breaths when agitated (but not making it obvious) and picking at her pimples (even when she knows she shouldn’t do so).
•.*❥ Her hobbies include collecting Pandora charms, doing yoga and pilates and watching films and dramas.
•.*❥ She identifies herself as demiual and demiromantic, but hasn’t quite found someone whom she has romantic attraction to.
•.*❥ She has had several celebrity crushes, her longest and current one being actor Yamazaki Kento.
•.*❥ She’s not too fond of exercising and working out, but is aware she needs them (on top of a balanced diet) to stay healthy. She only really actively does yoga and pilates, and sometimes cycling if she’s feeling up to it. But jogging or hitting the gym? A straight no from her.
•.*❥ Her highest education attainment is graduating from junior high school back in Japan. She’s since then devoted all her time to performing, and has no plans to further her education.
•.*❥ She only goes for vanilla-scented perfumes, of which her favourite is Kayali Vanilla 28.
•.*❥ She likes silver jewellery (perhaps partly because of her love for Pandora jewellery, which mainly releases silver charms and bracelets), which she thinks flatters her skin the most. She’s okay with rose gold jewellery, but definitely doesn’t like gold jewellery, as she thinks that gold jewellery does not suit her.
•.*❥ She buys a new Pandora charm once every few months as a means of rewarding herself. She takes a lot of care in choosing new charms to add to her collection, making sure that the charms she buys look nice and are truly reflective of who she is.
•.*❥ She’s not a big fan of romance movies, but wouldn’t mind watching them as long as Yamazaki Kento’s in it.
•.*❥ She has yet to learn how to drive, so she mainly relies on public transport and cars to get from place to place.
•.*❥ She mainly listens to Korean and Japanese-language songs, but has a number of English-language songs in her playlist, too.
•.*❥ She hasn’t been listening to AKB48 (and their sister groups) or RE:TUNE songs following her departure from both groups, the former because she feels a bit sad when she listens to them, the latter because she’ll be reminded of her unhappy times in the duo and her resentment towards her former bandmate and company.
•.*❥ She calls her fans Kit Kats, named after the chocolate brand. She has been addressing them as such since her AKB48 days.
•.*❥ She opened her Instagram account, @kikikichan99 in 2013, posting mainly pictures of herself, sometimes with her friends, sometimes the things around her. At present, she has 590k followers. Interestingly, she never privatised or deactivated her account when she was a trainee at Star World Entertainment and DAL Media, still posting updates relatively frequently.
•.*❥ She finds the old pictures in which she placed Instagram filters and borders quite laughable, to be honest, but she’s never had the heart to delete or archive them.
At one point, Kiki was truly happy for Miyoung, just like she was happy how the both of them had such a solid debut and earned many fans. She had the opportunity to showcase her vocals, but what about herself? What is it about Miyoung that made Star World decide to put her on the back burner, as though she’s just an accessory piece to her bandmate?
“I hate Miyoung.” Those words rang stronger and stronger as the days went by. It was to the point where they couldn’t even hold a conversation without Kiki shutting her out or Kiki snapping at her. It’s not Miyoung’s fault that the public liked her more or that Star World decided to promote her much more heavily than Kiki, but if she truly cared about her, why didn’t she say anything about the unfair treatment Kiki was getting by the company? And Kiki had to act like she’s best friends with Miyoung in public. Ick.
Kiki truly had enough one day, giving both Miyoung and the executives at Star World Entertainment a piece of her mind and calling it quits with RE:TUNE and the company. She had no idea who was the person who leaked the argument online for the whole world to see, but at least the public knows the truth behind RE:TUNE and Star World and they can judge for themselves who’s the bully and who’s the victim.
Ever since Kiki left Star World, she’s stopped contacting Miyoung altogether, and she’s more than happy to keep things that way. But will she backtrack her decision and try to get along with Miyoung again, following the scandal that ruined her former bandmate’s career? Who knows, but it certainly isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
As the years being a part of the group passed, she still remained friendly to every member, even when the time came for her graduation from the group. Add a few more years in South Korea after that, though, she’s not so close to them anymore. She usually won’t contact them, unless they contact her first.
If you ask her what she thinks about AKB48 now, she would say she’s ambivalent towards AKB48 at best. She knows that everyone is very supportive of each other, but she also knows that everyone is just trying to be loved by fans, even more so when the amount of each girls’ exposure is highly pegged to how many people voted for them in the Senbatsu elections. As such, she doesn’t really hold her lack of popularity against anyone, even if it stings a little till this day.
Needless to say, Kiki’s not that friendly to Sage. What is it about the older girl that her addition to the group is necessary? It’s kind of like the Miyoung situation playing out all over again, and boy, does she hate it. She tries not to take it out too much on Sage, considering that the Sage knows all too well how out of place she is in the group, but on days where she could really care less, she has no qualms in letting her know that feeling like she truly belongs in the group is not that easy of a task.
Of course, Kiki’s smart enough not to let her disdain of Sage be caught on by the public, because it’s no good for hers or the group’s image. She’ll be nice to Sage on camera, but once they’re away from the spotlight, there won’t be a risk of her image being tarnished for tormenting Sage any longer.
On the other hand, Eun knows Kiki as a member of the duo RE:TUNE, having been a fan of them since her trainee days. As such, Eun sometimes turns to Kiki for advice on how to handle the media, which the younger girl is happy to provide. That’s mainly how they interact- sharing their troubles, and being there to give some form of help.
Kiki can’t help but think- what if Yuna had joined AKB48 instead of Angerme? With how effortlessly she’s able to capture the attention of an audience, it’s quite likely that she’ll be popular, perhaps even getting a high rank in Senbatsu elections. That thought is enough for Kiki to put some distance between herself and Yuna up to now, even though Yuna doesn’t threaten Kiki in any way.
What is it about Sage that it’s so important for her to be part of Pandora? If there’s anything that Kiki has learned from Sage’s addition, it is that if you want to bypass hard work but still get exposure, you better be lucky enough to be related to someone with influence. Not to mention that with Willow’s actions, it reminds her all too much of the executives back at Star World, so she can never look at Willow the same way again.
Nowadays, Kiki no longer speaks to Willow unless she needs to, and whenever she does, it’s always straight to business. Willow would be lying if she said she doesn’t miss the times when Kiki wasn’t so cold towards her and clipped in her words, but can you blame Kiki for acting the way she does and no longer letting Willow in anymore?
She’s definitely friendly to him whenever they meet, but they won’t go out of their way to hang out with each other. Besides, his niceness sometimes creeps Kiki out a little.
She’s pretty close to Jehyung, given how much they admire each other’s ambitions and are able to bounce ideas off each other with relative ease. But with how similar they are to each other, what’s preventing them from getting even closer? Well, it’s how guarded they are. They’re not the type of people that will easily allow the other person to see all of them, so no matter how much they click with each other, all they can settle with are the sides that they are willing to show to each other.
They’re somewhat close to each other, being able to effortlessly hold a conversation, but there’s something missing in their relationship that will allow them to become close friends. Both of them can’t really figure out why that is so, but they won’t bother too much with that, anyway. They won’t hang out with each other if there’s other people that they’re closer to happen to be available, but they wouldn’t mind spending time with each other, either.
Junsu’s made it abundantly clear through his actions that he’s not here to get chummy with anyone, and Kiki definitely got the hint. Their interactions are very much limited to Kiki saying hi and Junsu ignoring her or acknowledging her with a grunt if he’s feeling generous, and she’s completely fine with that.
Sangwoo is one of the few people that Kiki feels comfortable enough to share some of her worries with, because he’s a pretty good listener and isn’t quick to dish out advice when she’s not looking for them. When it comes to her deeper thoughts that she’s not comfortable sharing with, Sangwoo is no longer privy to them.
Minju’s pretty interested to try and be friends with Kiki, but Kiki’s determined not to spend time with the person that reminds her way too much of a certain someone in her former group. Good thing that they’re not debuting in the same group, and she’s approaching her less often with time. Looks like Kiki’s cold treatment towards Minju is getting to the latter’s thick skull, after all.

Stage name Kiki 키키, stylised as KIKI when promoting as a soloist. She’s promoted using her real name ever since she made her first appearance on Kids’ Stage: Top of the Artists, and has been known by this name. Besides, Kiki’s a unique name, so might as well just go with it, just like what she’s always done.
Plotline The Scandalous
Having been in the entertainment industry for so long, Kiki knows what image she should give to earn the general public’s favour. Many people find her honesty refreshing, so she’s worked on that, alongside being outgoing. She’s known to even playfully throw some shade, even to people her senior, but not to the point where it becomes disrespectful. If someone acts out of line, she won’t hesitate to put them in their place, which earns her as much praise as criticism.
Thanks to her popularity, she’s given many opportunities to advance herself and make herself even more known. It’s what she rightfully deserves, having worked so hard but not being acknowledged for it. But has she truly considered the possibility that her fame and behaviour could threaten her relationship with her group, that as discreet as she may be right now, it could blow things out of the water?
Having gone through the K-pop trainee system, Kiki’s vocal abilities have certainly improved from when she was a part of AKB48. Her singing isn’t spectacular by any means, but she’s decent at it at the very least.
Back up Giselle, æspa (1 2)
Much like her singing, Kiki’s dancing has also improved over the years. Although she’s not going to be a main dancer anytime soon, she’s able to control her movements pretty well, being more powerful or more fluid or more gentle when needed. Plus, she can pick up choreography quickly and execute it well. She does this while captivating the audience, even more so when she’s in the spotlight.
Back up Sihyeon, EVERGLOW (1 2)
Since she’s been in the K-pop industry for quite a long time, it only makes sense that Kiki’s rapping abilities have improved over the years. She has clear pronunciation, includes dynamics to spice up her rap, and has a good flow throughout. She’s not quite at the level of The Undesirable, but she can easily pass off as a main rapper in another group.

When Kiki started out as a trainee at Star World Entertainment, she opened her eyes to the fact that she had much to improve when it comes to her singing and dancing skills in order to make her debut in the K-pop industry. She found it difficult to get used to the rigour of the training programme, which was such a stark contrast during her time with AKB48. Being in a foreign country with no one else to count on except for her fellow trainees (including Miyoung) and her company only made things harder for her. But she soon was able to catch up, rising through the trainee ranks and earning herself a spot in the duo RE:TUNE. Pleasantly surprised with her rapping abilities, which she developed during her time at Star World, she was made in charge of rapping in the duo.
By the time she became a trainee at DAL Media, her experience of being an idol would mean that she should, at the very least, be competent in vocals, dance and rap. And she certainly did not disappoint when asked to demonstrate her skills in all three talents on her first day of training. It’s known that Kiki was one of the best among the DAL Media trainees, and a front runner for the next DAL Media group. The fact that she was already so polished earned her as much praise as there is envy. But if there’s anything else that Kiki is good at, it’ll be forging good relationships with her fellow trainees, so they don’t feel so threatened by her.
But if Kiki was already good enough to make her debut, why didn’t she debut in Twilight or Eclipse? Twilight was a group that had already been in the running since 2014, the members so familiar with one another that it feels out of place to have Kiki added in. Besides, she came in at a time when Twilight had already finished most of the preparations needed to make their debut. As for Eclipse, she was actually considered for the group, but with how many members the group would have, she had misgivings about how much exposure she can get in the group. Pandora’s the perfect place for her, since the number of members in the group is much smaller, so she won’t need to struggle as much in gaining attention or opportunities to show what she’s got.
Having been to multiple auditions, she's managed to snag a several commercial deals when she is deemed to fit the image of the brand or the commercial they are filming. All of the commercials she appeared in during this period are for Japanese brands only.
Her debut as an actress. She starred as Amamiya Hikaru, and got some attention for it from viewers who watched her show.
As part of AKB48, she appeared in Chance no Junban all the way up to Kokoro no Placard, participated in various performances and events, appeared on television to promote the group’s songs and took part in several photoshoots.
As part of RE:TUNE, she participated in all of the duo’s releases, fansigns, concerts and made television appearances. However, she did not appear on television programmes, commercials or endorsements as often as her bandmate Miyoung does due to the company’s management (or rather, mismanagement), and did not get many lines in RE:TUNE’s songs from debut to their last release.

•.*❥ Global ambassador for Maybelline, 202x becoming the face of one of the most popular makeup brands around the globe? Of course Kiki wouldn't say no to that.
Thanks to the leak of an argument between Kiki, Miyoung and some Star World executives over their unfair treatment towards Kiki, it has sparked great attention among netizens. Kiki unfollowing Miyoung and Star World Entertainment on social media following RE:TUNE’s disbandment and her departure from Star World only further fuelled discussions online. Many expressed shock over the BFF image that Miyoung and Kiki have in public, when it doesn’t seem to be the reality at all. Netizens were mostly sympathetic towards Kiki’s treatment, and directing criticism towards Star World Entertainment and even Miyoung over their mistreatment and hogging of lines and attention, respectively.
One month after the disbandment of RE:TUNE, Kiki posted several Instagram stories detailing her time in the duo and Star World Entertainment. This includes the empty promises Star World made to her, being sidelined, the BFF image that they were to uphold, and her increasing discontent which led her to confront Star World and Miyoung. Once again, netizens were sympathetic towards Kiki, some even proposing boycotts against Star World Entertainment and Miyoung, who has stayed with the company and is now promoting as a soloist.
DAL Media announced to have signed an exclusive contract with Kiki in August 2020. In their announcement, they promise to provide Kiki their fullest support, and to support Kiki and DAL Media in their future endeavours. Kiki’s fans expressed happiness over this announcement and congratulated her, while also hoping that DAL Media doesn’t treat Kiki the same way as Star World Entertainment did.
Soloist Miyoung was speculated to be showing signs of pregnancy when she was present at her fanmeeting event. A video was uploaded online showing Miyoung retching and rushing off the stage, which led to netizens debating the possibility of Miyoung experiencing morning sickness. Kiki, who is now a trainee at DAL Media, also heard of this news.
She remembered overhearing a conversation between Miyoung and Star World’s creative director some time after the argument that led to RE:TUNE’s disbandment.
“We shouldn’t mention what happened last night between the both of us,” Miyoung had said.
“Indeed,” replied the creative director. “No one else should know about this.”
Little did they know, Kiki had secretly recorded part of their conversation, in case this might turn out to be useful in the future. And this was a golden opportunity.
Netizens went crazy over the recording, like what Kiki had expected. They were accusing Miyoung of having gained so much exposure due to sleeping with the entertainment company’s executives, and Kiki suffered because she didn’t do the same. No matter how much Miyoung or Star World tried to clarify and explain the situation, no one listened to them. How can they listen, when everything that’s happened makes too much sense?
As a result, Miyoung was let go by the company, and has disappeared from the public eye by the end of 2020. Star World, on the other hand, was on the brink of collapse not too long after.
And what about Kiki? Here she is laughing away, having exacted revenge on her former bandmate and company by uploading that recording online with anonymity aiding her.
Pandora was invited to a variety show hosted by Doni and Coni to promote their comeback album. However, Kiki was pointed out to have glared at Doni and Coni several times, and even rolled her eyes at the both of them at one point. A number of netizens have accused her for not knowing her manners, given how famous the both hosts, who are much older than she is, are in the Korean entertainment industry.
Fans of Pandora, however, have taken it upon themselves to defend Kiki, pointing out that Doni and Coni are notorious for mistreating idols who appear on their shows. They also claimed that the Pandora girls were shown to be rather uncomfortable during the filming of that particular episode, so it’s highly likely that Kiki acted this way due to her strong disapproval towards the hosts and the way they are treating her and her group mates.
DAL Media remained silent, and did not issue any press release to address this matter.
As for Kiki, who already dislikes Doni and Coni, she learned to be less discreet in showing her disdain towards the both of them.
A netizen claiming to have formerly trained at DAL Media accused Kiki to have bullied her during their trainee days. In a lengthy post published on an online forum, Kiki’s bullying ways includes playing tricks on her, calling her names, belittling her, and even deliberately misplacing her training shoes on one occasion.
Netizens claiming to also have been former DAL Media trainees have since come forward to share that Kiki has been nothing but kind and friendly as a trainee. Even Rose’s Terri and Eclipse’s Asuka also shared on two separate live streams that they admire Kiki for how hard she has worked when training at their company, and many people respect her. DAL Media also warned against spreading misinformation about their artists and trainees, and will take action against those who attempt to defame DAL Media and/or anyone at the company.
Since then, the post made by the netizen has been deleted from the forum it was originally published on.
Kiki once again found herself coming under fire, this time for being rude towards a fan who is attending a fansign. In a short video uploaded onto social media, Kiki can be heard saying that she doesn’t want to see the fan again.
Another video from another fan has been uploaded online in response to this allegation. The fan who accused Kiki was shown to have been rude and pushy towards herself and the other Pandora members, which eventually led to Kiki snapping at the fan for being so rude.
Since then, the original video and post by the fan has been deleted. Once again, DAL Media did not release any statement in response to this allegation.
A netizen claiming to have previously been Kiki’s hairstylist alleged in a post on Instagram that Kiki has been abusive. She claimed that Kiki had thrown a hairbrush at her because she was unsatisfied with how her hair turned out after a hairstyling session, which resulted in injury done to her forehead and being switched out for another hairstylist.
It is true that this netizen had been Kiki’s hairstylist, and she had been switched out. What’s not true, though, is that Kiki had been abusive to her. Two weeks following this allegation, the original post detailing the abuse was deleted, having been replaced by a video where the netizen retracted her statement, apologised to Kiki and asserted that she is a kind person.
The reason for Kiki having her replaced was due to her less than satisfactory work in the recent months, and the hairstylist, angry and resentful, wrote a post in an attempt to defame Kiki. Kiki knew about that, and the fact that the reason for the huge bruise on the hairstylist's forehead was due to an accident while playing tennis. She had met up with her former hairstylist one day, letting her know that she won’t be exposing her, as long as she puts up a video taking back what she had previously said.
With the numerous TV appearances, commercials, endorsements and solo songs that Kiki’s been getting, some Pandora fans have turned to social media to express their frustration at this situation. Why can’t DAL Media show more support towards other members, like The Debated or The Scandalous, instead of pushing Kiki into the spotlight once again?
Neither Kiki nor DAL Media made any press release to address these concerns. However, the longer they remain silent on this issue, especially the latter, the larger the risk of Pandora fans getting angrier.
This Is Why We Can't Ha...
Taylor Swift
As a result of her parents’ divorce and being placed under her mother’s care, Kiki never really grew up with a proper father figure. The lack of love she felt from such an arrangement contributed to her belief that true love doesn’t really exist, and if it does, it breaks way too easily for her to hold on to.
She’s got a couple of guy friends, but the most that they’ll ever be are close friends. It’s too risky falling in love with someone. What if they leave her one day and she ends up all alone, picking up the pieces? But more importantly, will the person she loves truly be able to understand her and accept every part of who she is?
Now that she’s made her debut in Pandora, making a name for herself is her priority, with getting into a relationship being put on the backburner. She’s happy with the way she is right now, being loved and adored by her fans. But maybe there will be one day where she realises that she craves genuine connection, including a special someone. Who will that special someone who dares to take the plunge and manage to get to her heart be? No one knows; it’s all up in the air.
Here’s Kiki, the second character that has been sitting in my drafts for a while, and I’m so glad that I’m able to complete her on time!
Truth to be told, writing Kiki has been quite a challenge, especially because it’s my first time I’ve ever written such an antagonistic character like her. If she’s chosen for the story, I’m excited to see how you will take her. Whether she becomes a full-fledged villain with no chance of redemption or becoming the kind person she once was, it’s all up to you.
Also, considering that Kiki has been in the K-pop industry for several years, she would've improved in her rapping and dancing abilities. If you find that Rei and Yuna are too strong (they're the main rapper and lead dancer in their respective groups), feel free to use her backup twins in both areas instead.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about her, and that everything made sense! Please let me know if there’s anything I need to clarify or edit ^^

I should have loved a thunderbird instead; at least when spring comes they roar back again. I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead. (I think I made you up inside my head.)
