APPEARANCE Haneul exercises a lot to maintain her figure. She has blonde hair now because blondes have more fun. She always at least has light makeup on, the only time she doesn’t is when she’s at the gym. She gets embarrassed by her bareface even though she looks the same. She always has at least lip gloss and pinched her cheeks to give her a natural blush before going to the gym though. She also has a belly button piercing.

STYLE Haneul always dresses to impress with makeup on everytime she steps out of her dorm. Even to the gym she dresses up. She’s very girly and doesn’t mind revealing clothes. BACKGROUND

Haneul was born in Daegu, South Korea on June 12, 2002. She was the only child and had a normal upbringing, nothing special ever happened to her until her dad left when she was six. He told her to wait on the couch and he was going to the convenience store, since she was only six she didn’t question why he had so many bags but listened to him and sat there the whole time waiting for him. Hours passed until her mom came home from work and saw her just sitting there. Needless to say her father never came back after that day. She was a daddy’s girl so the whole thing was really hard for her. Even though she was struggling her mom yelled at her asking what she did to make her dad leave. She always found excuses to blame Haneul for it and it convinced her that it was really her fault.

Haneul and her mom’s relationship was really bad after that. Her mom had to work longer hours to make ends meet so she spent a lot of time at the neighbors house until her mom came home. But when she was home her mom found every reason to be mad at her and blame Haneul for her bad day. So after a while Haneul just became quiet.

In school Haneul wasn’t very bright. She was almost always in the bottom 10. She didn’t study well on her own and couldn’t understand during class but her mom didn’t have money for a tutor. So it was the same cycle of her getting the report card and her mom screaming at her but her grades never got better. She didn’t have many friends and was just the quiet girl that sat in the back. She just kind of accepted that she’d never get a good job and was stupid. The summer before highschool she opened an Instagram account and posted a picture of herself with no followers. A random account commented that she was pretty and it sent so much dopamine to her head that she kept posting to get compliments. She started working out and posted exercise pictures and made her school uniform skirt shorter to take aesthetic pictures. Eventually she got more and more followers that were mostly guys. You’d think she’d get creeped out by it but she liked that her comments were filled with people calling her pretty since she never heard it before.

She got a DM from a classmate that saw her account and they started following each other. He started talking to her in school to everyone’s surprise since she was so quiet. He even invited her to a party and she became friends with his friends that were the delinquents that often partied and drank despite being underaged. Haneul developed a lot of bad habits at that time but it helped her realize that even though she was dumb, being pretty would get her friends so she took care of her appearance a lot.

During her three years of highschool she dated many guys, even the one that DMed her, it seemed she couldn’t go more than five months being single. She was living it up on social media but her grades were really bad. So when the CSAT came around she had a hangover the day before and did very bad. Not that studying on her own helped anyways. She had to watch as her friends went off to Seoul, Busan, even abroad if they didn’t do well on the exam. But her mom didn’t have money for that so she was the only one left in Daegu. She still attended parties but felt pathetic that all her friends left.

She took a gap year so she could retake the exam. She worked as a waitress during the day and at a Karaoke room during the night. If she could she did modeling for online shops and sponsored posts from all the followers she had. She got complimented on her looked all the time; from random strangers she waited on, the guys she accompanied and sang with at the karaoke rooms, her Instagram comments were full of them. It was still nice to hear since her mom kept calling her a waste for not doing well on the exam and working at a karaoke room but she felt empty inside, she wanted more meaning. That motivated her to study everyday to pass the entrance exam. Whenever she had time she studied, even on her breaks at work. Later when she took the exam she passed with flying colors and got accepted into her dream school. She always wanted to go to Jeju University because it was far from home and she’d never been to the vacation spot before.

When you talk to Haneul it won’t take long to realize she isn’t the brightest person. She’s a really friendly girl and doesn’t mind talking to anyone. She always finds something to compliment in the other person but she can be a bit of an airhead. She gets clueless easily and says things that don’t really match the conversation sometimes. She thinks a lot so in her mind she thought about it for a while when she was quiet and the others were having a conversation but she just randomly brings it up. Sometimes she could go on these random rants of things that were in her head and her friends look at her like she’s crazy.

She goes along with her friends a lot, she’s always down to hang out and will stop doing homework just to be with them because she rather be with them than alone. She rather do fun things with them and she’s really easygoing. She isn’t afraid to do things on her own since she grew up having to do so but she rather do it with friends even studying. She doesn’t like being alone because she feels lonely when she’s alone. That’s why she likes going to parties, she’d absolutely love having a roommate.

Usually she goes along with the opinions of others too. She just laughs and nods a lot unless it’s something she really thinks is wrong then she’ll bring it up. But her loyalty makes her loyal to a fault to her friends even when they’re in the wrong. She’s there for anyone that needs her and is willing to give advice even if it’s not always the best advice.

She’s mostly insecure about her intelligence, she knows she’s not very smart and knows other people look down on her because of it. That’s why she takes care of her looks so much. She actually thought it was kind of cute when he told her that. He’s known for dating many girls, at times many at once but somehow girls are still attracted to him. She looks up to him because he gets a lot of attention but remained humble and respectful and doesn’t seem like a boy like Kiseop and Wonbin. Even if they see each other many times he never tries to make a move on her which is a first but she likes it. She seems him as someone she can trust.

ROOM PREFERENCES Haneul would apply for the triple room since she doesn’t have much money. She doesn’t mind any roommate but maybe someone not messier than her or they would live in a pigsty.

SCHEDULE Haneul would have classes everyday except the weekends from the morning to the early afternoon. Later in the afternoon she goes to work at a KBBQ spot near campus until night (you can change her job if it conveniences you). Her weekends are spent working, exploring, and partying. She’d love to explore Jeju with any friends that she makes and Kiseop. She might party during the weekday too if she gets invited. Her break day tends to be Sundays but if she needs the money she’d work a Sunday shift too. She still does sponsored posts and modeling if she ever gets offers. She studies anytime in between all that.

DIRECTION Haneul felt like she’s lived her life superficially and was never truly happy. Before highschool she was depressed, during highschool she was artificially happy because she was drinking her feelings away and partying to be around a lot of people though she felt lonely, after highschool she distracted herself so much. Just because something is familiar doesn’t mean it’s healthy. So she wants to make friends that like her for her, learn to love herself more, find out what makes her happy and get good grades this time. Hi, I'm Moon Haneul. I'm from Daegu and I guess I'm sort of a micro influencer since I almost reached 50,000 followers. I go by Hanu on Instagram and TikTok, moonhanu is my user. We should totally follow each other.

out of all the colleges in korea, why did you pick jeju university and why your major?

How could I not choose JJU, its like being on a permanent vacation! Well minus the homework and exams. I don't have a major yet because I'm not like interested in anything.my goal is to have one by the end of the year though.

where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Where? In Korea, I don't plan on leaving. But a few vacations would be nice.

what would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

Well I'm blonde now so that's a strength. You would not believe how many free drinks I got after going blonde. But I think my weakness is that I don't think I'm like the smartest. It's embarrassing to say but I guess I fit the dumb blonde thing well.

as a freshman you will reside in chungsam hall, what do you look for in a roommate? any lifestyle habits that you find intolerable?

I hope we can be besties. I party a lot so someone that likes to party would be amazeballs. I just hope they're not messy because I'm already messy. Sorry in advance to my future roommate.

PERSONALITY Chanwoo is known for being very strict and having a deadpan stare. He doesn’t joke around with his students and is always punctual. It’s because since he’s a young professor, he doesn’t want people to see him as a joke or get the idea that they can be friends and get their grades boosted. Many students know he’s hot but hate him because he’s such a grump. He’s a very intellectual guy that likes to keep up with current events and have theories for many things that he usually keeps to himself. But he would talk about them if asked though most don’t. He always seems to be composed and professional. He doesn’t let a lot of people in but he’s not completely cold. He is a gentleman that gives good practical advice. When you get to know him he makes sarcastic and dad jokes and isn’t actually judgmental at all despite what a lot of people think. He also has unexpected interests like anime, gardening, crocheting and fishing. He is fine in his solitude though it could get lonely sometimes.

BACKGROUND Chanwoo came from a poor family that barely had money to take care of him so he was given up for adoption when he was six. He stayed his whole life in an orphanage and rebelled a lot because he hated his situation. In highschool he wasn’t a good student even though he was smart with a lot of potential. When he turned 19 he joined the military right after. It was one of his bunk mates that encouraged him to go to college so after the military he studied to do well on the CSAT. He did really well and got into Korea University as a mathematics major. He didn’t plan on becoming a professor, he was in between careers and decided to give it a try at Jeju University but he’s been there for the last 3 years.

LOVE STORY Haneul meets Chanwoo during her second semester, he is her math professor. She wasn’t looking forward to taking math since she at it but had no choice. She didn’t do very well the first semester even after asking for extra credit many times so she tried really hard this time. Chanwoo saw he was struggling based on her grades on homework and quizzes. Chanwoo was known for being very strict but he gave Haneul a chance to redeem herself on quizzes a few times and let her redo some assignments. She didn’t know why he was lowkey helping her so much and took it as a sign that he was interested. So during his class she’d wear a shirt that was cut lower in the chest area and played with her hair when he looked at her. He didn’t even seem a little bit flustered by her so she was confused by the mixed signals. Her grades were still terrible either way and she couldn’t fail another class. So after class she went to his desk and asked if she could get extra credit, he coldly said he wasn’t giving any at the moment but she leaned forward showing her cleavage and said another kind of extra credit. Before she could continue her flirting he interrupted her and said “okay meet me in my office at 6.” She was taken aback but agreed. That was the riskiest thing she’s ever done and she had to catch her breath after leaving. She faced possible expulsion with that move but she was desperate.

At little before six she went in his office and sat there alone trying to sit the most y way possible. She had a short dress on and her hair was down and curled. Was she really doing this? Is this what her life came to? Has he done this before? He came in and sat at his desk basically ignoring her and opened the textbook to a specific page and said, “solve this problem.”

Once again Haneul was taken aback and tried to solve it but failed. Instead of hooking up like she thought they would he tutored her for the next two hours. It was outside of his usual office hours but he saw she was struggling in class so he made the sacrifice because he never wants a student to fail. No student ever went to his office hours because he seemed so scary. So for 2 hours three times a week and sometimes more if she was really struggling, Haneul was at Chanwoo’s office and her grades slowly started to improve.

He didn’t get frustrated with her or give up, he saw that she was eager to learn so he was patient. Never reprimanded for getting an answer wrong. Meeting with him was the highlight of her week because she liked that she was finally understanding things in class. It helped her participate too. She also just liked his company because she never met someone like him that was so uninterested in her looks. So much that she starts going when they don’t have tutoring time just to sit with him while he does his work and chat. She felt like she could be herself so sometimes she’d say her problems or random ideas she had while he worked on his computer. For the first time she saw him laugh and he was actually handsome?

Haneul developed a crush on him, she liked talking about intellectual things and asking questions so he could explain it. Just listening to his voice made her happy. She liked not being judged by her appearance but instead what was in her brain. Haneul never tells anyone about her studying with Chanwoo, it’s not a big secret but she also didn’t want anyone else to go to his office hours to take time away from her. She felt like it was their little dates. Everytime after she leaves so happy and blushing even though nothing happened. He won't admit it but he too enjoys their study sessions. He doesn't want to cross the line of professor and student in the slightest because it could cost him his job. Her friends suspect that she’s cheating on Kiseop and rumors start going around campus about it too.

INTERACTIONS In public Chanwoo treats Haneul like every other student. He bows slightly at all of them when he sees them in the hallway and talks to them like any professor would. But after starting their lessons Haneul makes it a bit obvious that she likes him like she waves excitedly and watches him walk by. She stays behind to talk to him after class sometimes and it doesn't take long for his office to become her little hang out spot when she has no one to hang out with.

When they are alone during thier lessons he will treat it normally at first then once he gets comfy he starts slipping in a few jokes. He might even smile when she's being unintentionally cute. When they hang out at his office off office hours he listens to her rants and gives intellectual responses as to why it doesn't make sense or explainations to her many questions. Sometimes she tries to flirt with him and invite him out but he always rejects her and ignores her flirting.

TRIVIA She felt bad that he had to deal with her slowness so she started to buy him coffee and leave it on his desk since he only locked his office at the end of the day
