Plagiarism (+ Update)

My fic Straight to Hell has been plagiarized by someone named Xeora2158 on Wattpad. Please help me get rid of the stolen version. Messaging this person, posting comments and reporting the fic would help me a lot! Here's the link: Wattpad

I don't know why people are so disrespectful. Why do you think it's okay to just COPY AND PASTE a fic I worked on for YEARS and pretend it's yours?? This person even copied the poster I made. The audacity is absolutely insane. It's a bit strange this happens one day after someone on AFF asked me if they could post my fic on Wattpad. I said no, obviously. 💀 What author would want someone else to post their fics for them??

Anyway, I would really appreciate your help with this. It's important to me. If this continues happening, I'm afraid I can't share my works anymore.

The account and the story are both gone now! Thanks for your help, I'm glad I got so much support from AFF. It means a lot. 🥺
It seems like the thief didn't expect me to find the stolen story on Wattpad. I considered filing a DMCA report for copyright infringement, but the account was deleted before I had the opportunity. 

If you ever see any of my stories on Wattpad, AO3, etc., it wasn't posted by me. I only share my fics on AFF (and some oneshots on tumblr).
Please let me know if you notice anything suspicious. I'll keep my eyes open in the future as well. 💖

This is so sad.. you are a great author, they (that person who plagiarise) should see your story as inspiration not straight up to be a copycat..

Learn to write your own story please dear copyist!!!

I wasn't able to comment here sooner, but after reading the update for Straight To Hell regarding plagiarism, I immediately logged on to my Wattpad account (which, by the way, I'd already forgotten about since I'm not reading there) and did what I could. Thankfully, it is all resolved now. Writers like you don't deserve anything like that in exchange for your hard work; no one does. Even a reader like me feels frustrated coming to know something like that happened; I can't imagine what you feel when you find out about it. I simply hope that nobody else will ever act in such a disrespectful manner again... Hugs, Jessie! I hope you're having a happy new year! 💚💚💚

I posted on her wall earlier and I just checked back. Thankfully her account and the story had been removed

Publishing someone’s ideas is so low🤬! I’ll try reporting it- but there is also the owner reporting too- Good luck!!! I hope they never find the cool side of the pillow again for that

Like someone commented below me, you can file a DMCA report on Wattpad and they’ll take the story down within a day. People have plagiarized me before on Wattpad, so I can attest to their quick response time. It’s not just limited to word for word plagiarism either. If the plagiarizer is pretending to have received your permission to post a story when you haven’t granted it, Wattpad will still take the story down as long as the original source states something like “do not post on other websites, etc.”

Please file a DMCA report. Wattpad will be more cooperative that way.
