โใoriginally he had no name. he was simply called the name of his species, but after befriending a small child, he was gifted the name izumi from her. izumi means 'spring' or 'fountain'. izumi also comes from mizumi, the girl taking the name from where he originated form.

APPEARANCE
quite small and tiny, izumi looks nothing like one would think when you hear the word demon. despite his obvious old age, none of it shows in his visuals. his face is round and childish, bright blue eyes big and also round with long eye lashes. he has a cute little button nose and a set of pink, plumb lips. his ears are pointed rather than rounded and one single horn comes forth from the right side of his forehead.
his brown hair is mostly brown, rather normal for a demon, but the ends are dipped light blue like the color of his rivers. his hair is normal styled in a windswept way, sometimes almost looking as if its flowing through water.
this rest of his body is small, but proportionate. small hands and equally small feet, it's really not a surprise that he gets mistaken as a child.
he has a feminine charm to him, looking quite androgynous.
another indication to his demonology are his bodily markings. blue fades underneath his eyes, mostly looking like makeup, but it's truly his skin. faded white stripes shape against his cheekbones and bares more of these marks, mostly hidden beneath his clothes. they swirl his pale skin all the way to his fingers and toes.
his finger and toenails are colored blue, like the color of his eyes, naturally.
STYLE
izumi is usually seen wearing kimonos, mostly of the female or feminine kind, in different kinds of blues or with water related designs dancing on the fabric.
he is first seen with a fancy like kimono, one that covered his feet and dragged behind him in a trail, but he forgoes such garments when he's picked up by the gang.
he will then switch to more common kimonos, ones that stop right before his feet to give him more room to walk and travel.
a quirky trait with izumi is that he's mostly barefooted. he does not wear shoes and he frankly doesn't need to wear shows since his skin is hard enough to not be a problem for him. though in the cases of trying to seem human in certain villages, the gang will force little slippers onto his feet...though he will most likely forgoe such things within a few minutes.
floral adornaments are usually worn in his hair, which complete his overall feminine appearance.

KIYOKOใdeceasedใ--ใa small human child who had the tendency to run off on her own.ย she was a well-cared for child, her mother letting her enjoy life despite the possible threats of demons. the villagers did not know she would wonder into the forest every other day to speak to her best friend 'izumi', many thinking it was simply an imaginary friend.
she was quite oblivious to her surroundings and maybe even a bit too trusting, but she was izumi's first ever friend that wasn't the nearby fauna. she was full of toothy smiles and childish giggles that brought light to his rather lonely life. she was the one he named him, after all.
