Shy&Awkward: When people first meet Soriya, they're greeted by her soft voice and avoidance of eye contact. A lot of the time she's so quiet that people have to ask her to repeat herself. Her shyness had made her awkward too because she can run out of things to say or not be sure how to continue the conversation. If she's talking to a stranger that can't hold a conversation then they're doomed.

Humble: Soriya prefers to blend into the crowd than be the center of attention. Even if she accomplishes something, she downplays it to say it's not a big deal or she shushes those who are cheering for her because she's embarrassed. Things like compliments make her turn red and awkward. 

Empathetic: Soriya is really good at understanding others. After what she went through she became very empathetic towards other peoples problems. She's a good listener and really good at telling when people are hiding their true emotions because for a long time she did too. If there are a lot of people she might not say anything but if it's only them then she'd ask if they're okay. 

Gentle: It's not only her soft voice that makes her seem gentle but everything about her. The way she sits, walks, everything about her just seems soft in a way. She handles everything she touches with care, you'd never once see her slamming something or being rough. It's just not in her nature, she's very careful to make sure that she doesn't hurt anyone or anything.  

Guarded: She has many feelings but doesn't say anything about it. She's afraid of opening up to people because of Juson, she doesn't want to feel the same betrayal she once felt. Even with her actions she's guarded, she never seems to let loose or be free. She's always holding herself back. She doesn't even like crying in front of others, Only if she's close to you.

Soft: Soriya has a very soft heart, she gets hurt by others easily but isn't the type to say anything. She would just keep it to herself without the other person knowing she's even hurt. If they ask then she'll say that she's fine too. It takes a lot for her to say when something is bothering her.

Self-Critical: Since it's been so long and her humbleness, Soriya doubts her skills very often. She thinks she lost her abilities she once had as a trainee. Since they replaced her so easily it made her think that no matter how hard she worked she was just average. She doesn't think she stands out in any way. Even when she does something well she manages to find a flaw.

BackgroundWhat was their childhood like? what happened to make them who they are today?

Soriya had a normal childhood. Her family was lower middle class, a typical Korean family with conservative views. She had an older brother who was a family favorite, he got away with basically everything while Soriya was just a quiet child. She was never really outstanding at anything. She had average grades, average looks, average everything. Her life was really normal.

When she discovered K-Pop her life became a lot more exciting. She made friends with the same interest and joined the dance team at her school doing K-Pop covers. Before she would just go straight home but now she went to events and waited for idols at their schedules. Her life felt interesting for once. She actually discovered that she had a beautiful voice when she went karaoke with her friends.

Her dream was to be an idol but her parents didn't support her dream. They told her that her looks and talents aren't enough to be an idol so she delayed auditioning. But the more she waited the more she wanted to be an idol. In 2012 she auditioned for the big three companies but didn't get into either of them. She was going to give up but actually got scouted by StarX Entertainment when she was performing a cover of Gee by Girls Generation with her friends at a school talent show.

Parents - Ahn Dongmin and Lee Suran - 52 - Soriya doesn't talk to her parents at all. She's completely independent from her parents now, she hasn't even asked them for money or been to Gwangju in years. She gets jealous when she hears that her coworkers are close to their parents because she too wishes she was. During her hard time all she wanted to hear from them was that it wasn't her fault but they couldn't even say that.

Brother - Ahn Sungmin - 28 - Sungmin is older than Soriya but definitely doesn't work harder. He's lazy and still living with his parents, just drinks and plays games. She keeps in contact with her brother, sometimes he comes to see her or calls her out of no where. He's a very chill person that doesn't take anything seriously so even when finding out about her abortion he just advised her to move on. He doesn't get her struggle sos he doesn't even bother to talk to him about those things.

Roommate - Jung Taehee - 27 - Taehee is Soriya's best friend. She's the outgoing and honest best friend to a quiet girl like Soriya. They work at the same place and have been roommates since 2016. Soriya is the only person besides her family that knows her story so she's very protective over her and helps her deal with her anxiety. At work, anyone that flirts with her has to deal with Taehee yelling at them. Also she's the one that encourages Soriya to sing wherever theres the opportunity because she believes in her. When she heard about the show she got excited for Soriya because she wants to see her bestie live her dream and get justice for what she went through.

Ex Boyfriend - Kim Juson - 26 - Soriya hasn't talked to Juson since he broke up with her. He's living his best life as an fboy and famous celebrity. He's a company favorite sicne he made so much money for them. Back when he was dating Soriya, he did have feelings for her but he wasn't ready to be a dad He hasn't had any scandals so far and the last thing he expects is to see Soriya on TV again. (You can choose if he feels regets his actions and stuff).

Soriya became a trainee at StarX Entertainment in 2010 when she was 14 yeard old. Just like in regular life she didn't stand out as a trainee. StarX planned on debuting a girl group in 2012 but Soriya was overlooked and not chosen for the final lineup. It didn't stop her determination though, she neglected her studies and trained even harder to prove how much she wanted to debut. In 2015 they wanted to debut another girl group named B4U and Soriya was ready to fight for her chance again because she improved so much over the years.

During that time she met a new trainee named Kim Juson. He was known for being good looking and pursued her first. She wasn't experienced in relationships so she fell for his smooth ways. They started dating a few months after he joined StarX. He was able to convince her that in order to hide their relationship he had to keep being an fboy and flirt with other female trainees right in front of her. Every month they were eliminating and bringing in new girls to make the final lineup in B4U. Soriya was working so hard that even the staff acknowledged her efforts, at the final monthly evaluation she got a lot of compliments too. Her and Juson were able to successfully hide their relationship until Soriya found out she was pregnant. She didn't know until she was over 3 months pregnant because her menstrual cycle was unstable for years from different factors like stress and weight loss. 

The first thing Soriya did was tell Juson because he deserved to know and he told her it was her decision, he was really sweet about it too. She was actually thinking of keeping it because she loved Juson so much but the next day she got called to the CEO's office. Juson was sitting there but he didn't look at her, instead the CEO said.

"Juson told us about the news, and congratulations. But I want to let you know that we we're really considering you to be apart of the final line up for B4U. If you choose to keep it then there's no way you can debut, you already trained for so long so it would be unfortunate if that would happen. Although it is your choice, I just want you to think hard about your decision because it not only affects you but Juson too."

Soriya had to choose between her dream or her unborn child and she chose her career. After waiting for so many years to finally debut she was so close and she couldn't give it up so easily. Though getting rid of her unborn child did make her feel guilty she did it anyways with the help of her company. Soriya masked her negative thoughts with the hope that she would make her debut and live her dream life as an idol but in her next meeting with the CEO it didn't go as she planned.

"Soriya I'm so glad you made the right choice. But after much deliberation with the staff, we think it's best to terminate your contract. Technically you did break a company rule by dating Juson but imagine the impact your scandal would have on B4U if the public found out. The group's image would be ruined, and we can't risk that over one mistake. Being an idol is ruthless and I don't want you to go through that, besides you're still young, at least now you can go enjoy life instead of raising a baby."

That same day Soriya's contract got terminated, five years of training wasted. She went back home to Gwangju and told her parents what happened. Being back at home after only seeing them once in five years was terrible. Instead of being sympathetic they blamed her for being stupid and dating during training. They didn't even feel bad that she got an abortion, instead they said they told her that she wouldn't debut. Not even a week after being home, Juson broke up with her through text after he lovingly sent her off when she left Seoul.

For a while Soriya struggled with depression, soon after going back home she moved back to Seoul to live with a roommate and work in a cafe where she is currently the manager. A few months after leaving StarX, B4U made their debut with Closer and were nominated for best new artist at the MAMA awards. They're still doing relatively well for a girl group from a small company. As for Juson, to her surprise he ended up making his debut a year later in StarX's new boy group Code:Z. She thought his contract got terminated as well since he too broke the company rules but apparently not. Code:Z debuted with Hero in 2017 and qucikly got their first win. Juson is the most popular member of his group and living a successful career doing acting on top of singing.

But Soriya, she's still struggling with her guilt, depression and anxiety. She hasn't dated anyone since Juson, let alone even is able to look at guys romantically. She hasn't talked to her parents in years and still lives with the same roommate. She can't even listen to K-Pop and enjoy it like she used to anymore. She's been living a simple life, she got her GED online and sometimes she impresses her coworkers at karaoke night with her beautiful voice but that's about it. She still thinks about what could've been if she debuted, or if she kept her baby. Her roommate is the one that found out about Produce Angel and encouraged her to tell her story. It's not only to expose her company, but the struggle of being a woman in a society that favors and enables men.

I see Soriya's journey being that she starts off shy and struggles but later on she becomes more confident and learns to enjoy performing again instead of being so anxious.
