Face Claim Omega X Taedong

Backup: SF9 Hwiyoung

Height and weight: 179cm, 77kg

Physique: Tallish and of medium build since he isn't totally inactive, but definitely not an athlete. He'd tell you he is "normal" but normal is relative.

Style: What style? You mean the easiest, most comfy of clothes he can find? Shinwoo works remotely a lot, so sweatpants, hoodies, pullovers, anythiny easy and comfy is his forte. That's not to say it's tacky though. He matches the comfy selections so it looks neat and coordinated, but not tailored. He actually does own some nice pieces his mother and Yerim have given him. If the occasion called for it, he could cut a good, upstanding figure...but he really hopes he never has to.

Ha Shinwoo

Eccentric, Exciteable, Gregarious, Single-Minded, Absent-Minded, Inquisitive, Brave, Definitely doesn't have a healthy dose of fear...

Voted in his class as the most talkative and most likely to keep talking even when you leave the room. That's Shinwoo at first glance. A jovial, happy fellow who can talk to you endlessly about any subject. That's him! He will gladly carry on the conversation even when others cannot! Shinwoo being able to converse and socialize has never been a real issue for him. Loud and outspoken, Shinwoo isn't a quiet introvert by any means. He's an approachble, easy going guy! So why do some people keep their distance? Rather, the content of what he speaks on is usually the real reason why people pause.

Shinwoo goes off on tangents so easily. His mind wanders ceaselessly that it sometimes comes off as flakey. What it actually is, is his mind wandering off to other places as he ponders the possibilities. He is not content to simply think about the real world around him when he can at keast consider the metaphysical. Or maybe he wants to consider the bug on the ceiling and where it may or may not have been? Conversations with Shinwoo can vear off into the random so easily. No topic is strictly taboo, which might make him seem insensitive sometimes as ge doesn't see the harm in discussing the darker things of the world. He doesn't mean to be callous, but he doesn't always put one and one together that maybe a bit more tact when discussing something may be neccessary. He is embarassed once he realizes he has done this, and he will try to make amends, but its something he just does without thinking.

His habit of rambling off also reflects how he just ambles about into things haphazardly. He is such a disorganized mess in his daily life to the casual observer, often forgetting appointments and dates so easily. Unless its work or research related, he's just horriboy absent minded. He's not as disorganized a he appears though. He just has his own way of organizing his life and it doesn't fall into the categories others think it should be. He really does have his life in order!...a very messy, chaotic order!

But as forgetful and rather silly he seems sometimes, Shinwoo genuinely seems to know no fear. This isn't always a good thing. Its great for standing up to a hard situation or facing the  not so nice things in life, but it also makes him a little foolhardy. Warning labels often are more of a suggestion. Guarantee you Shinwoo would be one of those fools that cause the warning label to be made.

But Shinwoo's moments of stubborn tenacity and follow through once dedicated to his goal becomes something people tend to know him for. Shinwoo doesn't know give up. He won't. He'll stubbornly follow through with his goal until he literally cannot, CAN NOT, go further. And even then he has to be persuaded its not giving up. Because Shinwoo isn't a quitter. He won't give up on someone else either, and will drag them through to the end even when they themselves cannot do so.

Ha Shinwoo shared a memory.

Background

Shinwoo is the second son of a successful lawyer, Ha Kangdae. Always a precocious kid, Shinwoo had a lot of freedom as a child and often got into trouble, much to the chagrin of his father who wished he'd be a more obedient child. But Shinwoo had a happy childhood where it was rare for him to be told he was incapable of anything.

He was always interested in things. Things being a very broad term. Trvia of all sorts have always floated around Shinwoo's head. He loves learning and accumulating knowledge and "truth" as it were. He was also just a senstive child. Sometimes he would just cry because the atmopshere felt too oppressive, or become happy because the energy felt bright. For a long time, people assumed he was just an active child who wanted attention. He was surely making things up to get attention. And when he said he was seeing shadow people? Off to the doctor to get him checked out.

"Your son is perfectly healthy. He just has an equally healthy imagination."

Shinwoo learned to not talk about it as much and kept the fact he felt things and saw things to himself more.

Life changed though when he was seventeen. His brother, Junwoo, was killed in a traffic accident. Of all his family, his brother was the one person Shinwoo could confide in about feeling odd without being judged or dismissed. Having lost him...Shinwoo became far more vocal on his opinions. This only got worse when Shinwoo began "seeing" his brother on his route to school. He swears he was seeing his ghost, just waiting for him on the side of the road from the corner of his vision. Shinwoo wanted to know more. He needed answers to what he was experiencing.

This has led to lifelong desire to understand the unknown. He changed his passions towards investigating the paranormal instead of business and law, like his father would have liked. But he was driven by the fact that people tended to be dismissive of him. He was going to prove he wasn't crazy.

Fast forward and he has a stable IT job. He is a bit estranged from his family as he just can't be part of the life they have. He's just a little too odd for them, even if they still care and try to support him. He has tried to break off a previous engagement, get his podcast off to a good start, and he is actually succeeding a little in his life goals. It's not perfect, but he is managing.

But that's when one faithful day he comes across Letalis after deciding he needed a new place to live. Shinwoo feel drawn to the building. And of course, the ghostly energies he feels there.

Relationships

Ha Kangdae - Father - Kangdae at first appears to be the typical, stoic Korean father figure. He doesn't smile much and is very serious about his law practice.  But when not at work or working with clients otherwise, Kangdae is a rather supportive and warm father. He is very loving to his children and was a devoted husband. He took the untimely death of his first son hard though, always having a bit of sadness about him when he's around. As much as he doesn't believe in the supernatural and other such "nonsense", he believes his son does believe. He would just rather Shinwoo come back home, marry Yerim, and stay close to his family. He checks in with Shinwoo when he can and has tried to give him money, but is often refused.

Lee Jiae - Mother - Jiae is also a lawyer, but went on hiatus to care for her children. She was a srict parent, but has softened immensely after Junwoo's passing at only 18. She has become sad and withdrawn, and has started working at the lawfirm again. She works quite a bit and is definitely not a domestic homemaker. She has become distant with her family, and even though she cares about Shinwoo, she rarely reaches out to him.

Yoo Yerim - Fiancee (?) - (FC: Eunseo from WJSN) Yerim is the daughter of a close business associate to Shinwoo's father. Back when they were 14, they decided the pair should one day be married. Yerim and Shinwoo were always close, so it wasn'tthe worst plan. Both Yerim and Shinwoo were fine with it and actively called each other fiancee, honey, darling, whatever they felt like. Honestly? It was never romantic with them even as they grew older. And that was fine. They still liked each other's company. Yerim was always as free spirited as Shinwoo, but was a good grounding force for him and often kept him level headed when he would otherwise do something foolish. This has become more strained since Shinwoo's interest in the occult and supernatural though. Yerim, like Kangdae, believes Shinwoo believes in what he says he sees. Unlike his father, Yerim is happy to support his interests as long as he isn't pausing his life for it. She worries over him and keeps tabs on him whenever she can. She works at the lawfirm with his father and Eunsoo. *possibly love interest if you so desire! Maybe the more platonic feelings develop into romantic*

Ha Eunwoo - younger sister (FC: Kim Yoojung) - 21 years old - his little sister and the actual one who will be the next big exec/lawyer for their father lbr. And its fine! She was supposed to be engaged to another business partner's son but...kicked him in the balls and told him to feck off when he tried to touch her. She and Shinwoo used to be close, but unlike her father who humors Shinwoo's ghostly vision and Yerim who supports him, Eunwoo thinks her brother is full of crap. They love each other, but Eunwoo thinks her brother was just unable to handle the deaths in their family and is using ghosts as an escape and excuse. She is a little embarassed of him honestly. She is kind enough though and checks in with him...sometimes they fight though and it's firey.

Ha Junwoo (deceased) - older brother of 2 years - Junwoo was very important to Shinwoo. Junwoo was practically his best friend. They had planned on living together as bachelors once they were done with university and their military service. They were very close and Junwoo was the one person, sans Daehyun, who actually believed Shinwoo. Junwoo would have been the son his father wanted: smart and business minded. He was going to be a lawyer. His death hit, still hits, Shinwoo very hard. Sometimes Shinwoo recognizes his desire to understand the supernatural is his desire to keep the idea that his brother is still somehow with him alive. But more importantly, with his death Shinwoo lost the person who supported him unconditionally. Shinwoo keeps a picture of him and Junwoo from 15 and 17 on his wall. It's his most important item.

Kim Daehyun - Best Friend (FC Lee Shinyoung) - Friends since grade school, Shinyoung is just as focused and into the supernatural as Shinwoo. But Daehyun is more logical. In their podcasts, Shinwoo is often the "ghost whisperer" and believer, while Daehyun is more skeptic and science minded. Together, they run a podcast (Lost Souls of Seoul) where they have discussions and debates on the paranormal as well as investigating and researching paranormal sites. Right now, Daehyun is in Germany studying abroad, but they still work together remotely on their podcast. Daehyun is Shinwoo's link to sanity. If Shinwoo gets a little too far down the rabbit hole, Daehyun is usually the one who can pull him out. He does worry about Shinwoo's desire to live in and investigate Letalis. Hes not happy about it at all, and threatens to fly back just to drag him out of there.

Song Moonsoo - The first time they met face to face, Shinwoo asked him, "is it true that this place is haunted? This place is totally haunted. How does it feel to be the landlord of a haunted place?" As part of his research, he often tries to get Moonsoo's input on the possible haunting of Letalis. Truthfully, Moonsoo never has to initiate an interaction with Shinwoo. Shinwoo emerges from his apartment, Shinwoo sees Moonsoo, Shinwoo immediately goes in for a conversation. There is some bonding there as well. Both having to deal with the loss of a family and having younger sisters to mind. It also helps that Moonsoo, when he finds out Shinwoo sees ghosts sometimes, actually believes him. Part of Shinwoo wants to uncover what is happening at Letalis as a favor to Moonsoo. Poor guy deserves some answers. *also, possible love interest if you so desire!*

Choi Seulhwa - This woman is a godsend to Shinwoo. Since they live on the same floor, they ofen interact and Shinwoo is usually willing to help her with any heavy lifting or other odd tasks she might need help with on any given day they might interact. There's some mothering there from her as she often gives him extras from the bakery to make sure he doesn't just eat takeout all the time.

Trivia

- As unusual as it is, Shinwoo says he can see ghosts. Not like full on apparitions or talking to them. It's not like he carries on convos with them. He says he's always seen shadows from the corner of his vision, even as a kid. It was only after the sudden deaths of his brother that he swears he sees them more often now.

- More so, Shinwoo has always just been extra perceptive of how things "feel". It's what got him into the supernatural. He wouldn't neccesarily say he's psychic or anything, but he definitely thinks he's just more sensitive to energies around him. It's honestly how he has debunked supposed hauntings before: they felt too normal.

- His podcast is "Lost Souls in Seoul" that he started 2 years ago with Daehyun. It has a modest but successful following, and they have hopes that it will continue to grow.

- Shinwoo has a book he is working on about hunting ghosts and his experiences while doing so. He casually works on it, it's nowhere near done, but he hopes he might finish it and publish once he's older.

- Has a white goldfish named Tofu. He would like a pet cat, but he's a little allergic and would rather wait on it for a bit first.

- His knowledge on supernatural things is almost encyclopedic. Ask him anything, give him a moment, and he'll spout out all sorts of nonsense about the topic.

- He loves cola, and drinks a lot of soda.

- But actually dislikes most alcohol.

- His phone is inexplicably almost always at 67% battery if you look at it or borrow it. It's such an odd thing.

- He actually can cook. He used to cook for Eunwoo a lot back when he was home. But now in his single, solitary life? He just chooses not to.

- Snacks are love. Snacks are life. Give him all the snacks. Quickest way to his heart. He's not picky on them either.

Ha Shinwoo

Typical Schedule

Shinwoo rolls out of bed, eats his aforementioned breakfast, reads some articles or news on his phone, and then hops onto his remote job as IT support. The majority of his work days have him routing calls and troubleshooting for people. He does this until about 5 or 6ish in the evening. Lunches are usually easy, quick meals he can eat on the fly, and dinner is usually something he orders in earlier in the day. Noodles are a favorite.

Once work is done, his evenings consist usually of him editing and working on the podcast he runs with Daehyun. He does have some university friends he hangs out with from time to time, but lately he's been more fixated on researching Letalis.

If he's not working, either for his job or the podcast, he can be found at the cafe downstairs, usually reading. He might also spend the day gaming on his pc or ps4 or switch, though he tends to like more casual games than anything too loud or violent. He sometimes chooses to then go skip outside to bookstores, cafes, or other locales to work on his notes and planning out for future episodes. This usually has to do more with his research into Letalis more these days than anything.

Oh, he also does go on runs sometimes in the evenings too. He has to keep himself from getting too sedentary. Good for his health too!

Books, paraphernalia, all sorts of occult media litter his room in small stacks all around. While his living and sleeping spaces are terribly cluttered, his kitchen is neatly organized. Mostly because he rarely uses it. Shinwoo CAN cook, but he usually orders in food. Off by the window he has a rather impressive computer setup with triple monitors. He uses it for both work and leisure.

Despite the clutter, most things are stacked in a logical way. He can find what he needs fairly quickly. The clutter stems more from lack of space than actual disorganization.

About Letalis

Shinwoo was looking for something inexpensive and easy. He was walking past the apartments when he saw it...he saw the ghost. Or he thinks it was a ghost. He can't be sure. But he is certain that something feels...off about Letalis. He can count on his hand the number of times he's ever felt this oddness. One of which is when he used to see what he thinks is his brother appearing around him.

So into Letalis he moves. Letalis has become his project now. A mystery to uncover. Shinwoo is absolutely fascinated by everything about it.

Shinwoo around the building comes off as the friendly, if odd, person living on the second floor. He also becomes something of a defacto IT guy to the other tenants. He's more than happy to answer questions or even work on their computers if needed. Shinwoo is always available for a chat to just about anyone.

Lifestyle

None can match Shinwoo's ability to order in just about any food. And it's never just junk. He legit eats a balanced diet somehow without being a skilled chef. He CAN cook...but does he really have to? Nahhh, he can order in food, npnp.

Otherwise Shinwoo's days usually start after ten in the morning when he begins his work. He works remotely, so first it's rolling out of his futon around 8ish, wash the face, brush the teeth, have some toast with something (cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly, etc), chug some caffeine, and his work day begins. He works as IT support, so on goes his headset and he ignores most things until his breaks or work completes. He only works four days a week, which allows him time for his other job: working on a supernatural podcast with his friend Daehyun.

He has some co-workers and a couple of universit friends he hangs out with, though since moving to Letalis this is less frequent. He would rather do his research than go out with friends lately, and it is concerning to Daehyun, Yerim, and even Eunwoo.

He has also started trying to run in the evenings more often. He has become way too sedentary lately and at the urging of Yerim, is trying to take better care of himself.

Other Things

Shinwoo is alone quite often these days. Prior to moving to Letalis, he actually had a healthy dose of social time with a few of his friends and co-workers. But lately he has been very absorbed with his work and research. It borderlines on unhealthy sometimes (much to the worry of his friends). Granted, he's not alone when he's actually in the apartment building. He spends time with other tenants easily and eagerly. But he does tend to wander alone more frequently than he used to.

If anyone believes in the supernatural, it is Shinwoo. He lives and breathes it. If anyone needs someone to discuss this with, Shinwoo is always eager and open.
