min eunbi was born in the joseon dynasty, to her mother queen min, and king gojong. she was the only daughter among the unnamed children that the couple were said to have had throughout their marriage. the king and queen were accounted to have only one living son, whom later went on to become emperor. what is true is that the king and queen's other children were known to have not lived long past a couple months, eunbi included. the reason to this was, that at the beginning of their marriage, neither the king or queen liked each other very much and the queen was always known to be very diplomatic. she had cards hidden away to play within a seconds notice. the people were convinced that the queen's failed pregnancies were due to conflictions within the countries affairs, but queen min paid her nurses a fair amount of money to take her children to spite her husband or to make them very ill so that they'd perish. her only concern was that if her children were taken, that they'd go to a good family. she wouldn't come to regret her choices as later on in her life, only came more and more trouble.
by the time queen min and the king finally made up, she was fighting for her one "living" child's life along with her own. it was already too late to think about her other children or whether they had survived her monstrosities in in the first place. 

though eunbi was able to find a lovely life with a new family, she still lived as a very ill child. she wasn't able to get education the way that other children would, and she couldn't play by their side either. she'd spend a lot of her time bedridden, lost in books as becoming literate was the only thing she was capable of. eunbi came close to losing her life various times, and her family was desperately looking for anybody who would help eunbi. it hadn't been until an unpleasany winter night in 1901 when a visitor in the night approached her bedside.

"i've been watching you for some time", he'd said. the night air coming from her bedroom window was chilly, and she could have sworn thats where her gooseflesh had come from but the closer he came, the more her body trembled with fright. there was something off about her visitor, and she somehow knew she would not survive the night at all. she was within her last breath of life when he whispered into her ear, "and now, we will be bonded together for eternity." she can't recall how or in what way it happened but when she woke next it was as if it had all been a dream but it wasn't because she'd felt like she'd never felt in her life. eunbi quickly found that she was like no other and she needed to escape before it caught up to her and she destroyed the lives of those she cared about.

eunbi spent the next two centuries learning all that she could, doing all that she could and finding where she best fits. she'd had ocassional meet-ups with her maker, each one unique. he'd show her all the things she'd missed out on, and each meet drew her further in. eunbi doesn't pretend that she's a graceful being, no. she's a monster who hunts and eats straight from the vein. over the past few years, she's found her calling. she's come back to her home country for the first time since she fled, to honor her family, and herself.
