2003. mia is born into the hirano family, her father being hirano kohaku himself- the ceo & president of the mitsubishi ufj financial group, inc. mitsubishi is the leading global financial services group and one of the largest banking institutions in japan, so in other words, the hiranos are loaded- a generational wealth, considering the company was passed down to kohaku from his father. from as early as five years old, mia was enrolled in etiquette class, ballet class & piano class. it was drilled into her from a young age that image is everything. it doesn't really matter what you do behind the scenes, just don't get caught- though her parents didn't trust her to not be caught considering how young she was so there was always a tight leash around her.
2015 — 2021. upon entering middle school (junior high), mia had some extra time on her hands- she passed all of her etiquette classes and her parents took her ballet lessons down to only one day a week, so she could focus on school a bit more (she still had piano three days a week, but learning an instrument was considered more important than ballet) mia felt she was too good for school work, however. someone of her status shouldn't worry about something so tedious, right? mia thought of a solution fairly quickly- there was a boy in her class, really smart and kinda cute too. mia went ahead and made him her "boyfriend" (they just held hands a lot) who just so happens to do all of her work for her, because how else would we have time to be together if i'm so busy doing work? blink blink. thus started the trend of mia having "flings" with boys, schoolwork was done and hopeless romantic daydreams fulfilled, two birds one stone.

very soon after becoming a trainee, a rumor began to spread that mia's parents bought her way in and that's the only reason she was accepted. it's not true, of course, and mia so badly wanted to explain that her parents don't even want her doing this right now, but if there's one thing mia learned being in the public eye, is that it's best to ignore these types of rumors and not bring any attention to it. still, it was rough- most trainees weren't bold enough to actually bully mia, but there were a few who tried. "my parents are only a phone call away, do you have any idea what they could do to you and your family?" usually shut them up, line delivered with a bright smile as if she wasn't saying a threat. more silly rumors began to spread, most notably that mia is a member of the yakuza? she had to give them props for that one, a dainty thing like her was perfect yakuza material.
still, despite the fear mia managed to instill in some of the trainees, most of the older ones that have been training for years were so angered by her presence that they tried plotting behind the scenes for mia to get kicked out somehow, like making a mess and blaming her or hiding her phone while she slept so she wouldn't hear her alarm to wake up for training. they managed to remain anonymous so without being able to threaten them, mia came up with a new way to look out for herself- while some trainees hated her, some wanted to be around her, belieivng that they'd gain notoriety for being seen with the young girl or that mia would spoil them with money. mia leaned into these girls, making them her "minions" of sorts, who took the blame for her and looked out for her while she slept in the dorms. it worked like a charm, the rest of the months that mia spent training flew by with only a few hiccups here and there. those being her instructors, who worked mia to the bone and were always firm and strict with her. for someone who hates exercise, sweat and being told what to do, this was a huge adjustment for mia, and she found herself bitting her tongue frequently. but mia adapts and continues on, like always.
