she pauses for assumed laughter from the audience, before continuing, "it was rough sometimes with just the two of us, but she always made it work. i miss busan so much and can't wait to visit the ocean again." junggoo couldn't help but smirk. "as expected from the project sm it girl." kora simply sat there, not feeling much of anything except an urge to leave. "s-systems perfect as always, kora." jinhyun mumbled as he stood up to unplug the girl, a soft blush bloomed on his cheeks when kora smiled at him.
kora doesn't have to get tested or updated as often given how well she works, but a visit to jinhyun at least once a week is recommended, so junggoo has her follow through. not that she minds, as this allows her to continuously build the young programmer's trust in her. she tries to sneak out and explore as often as she can, though of course part of being a good leader is keeping tabs on the other girls, so kora tries to balance it out.
this means she usually has to sneak out around 3-4 am, and be back before humans usually start their day. what does she do on her little adventures? anything she can. kora just simply wants to observe and understand what makes humans work, why they are so free while her only being is meant to serve one purpose. so kora walks anywhere and everywhere, simply watching- the gangsters jump each other in dark alleyways, the bakers awake at ungodly hours to start the morning's first batch, the drunk guy still passed out from the night before.
though not all the time, kora has usually just seen the absolute worst of humans, and it disgusts her that they would throw their lives away. kora wants to be real and free, but not like them. she wants a passion that she chooses for herself, and kora found it one night not too long before debuting. an artist working all night in their art gallery, windows open where kora stood and watched for hours. kora may not mind being an idol and will use her talents in that for the time being, but she knows what she wants now- to draw and paint and be an artist.

"of course it has to be snsd's taeyeon! am i even a main vocal if i don't look up to her?" kora giggles and hides it behind her hand shyly, turning up the charm. "she truly has an amazing voice and i would love to sing with her on a track someday. i have goosebumps just thinking about it!" kora taps into her code to make goosebumps appear, showing her arm to the interviewer.

surprisingly, these two had a rather unusual meeting- back in 2018, they were both trainees that had snuck out way too late at night. kora was on her usual bull, and soobin was on the brink of debuting with txt and was very much feeling the pressure. kora was sitting on a bench, watching a group of people playing basketball. why are they doing this so late at night? to not be recognized? are they perhaps idols? kora was thinking a lot of thoughts, her head tilted to the side. suddenly she was interrupted by a figure sitting next to her on the bench. alarmed, kora looked quickly to analyze the situation but merely saw a boy around her "age." he looked equally as alarmed, coughing a bit before he spoke.
"s-sorry, i usually don't do this. you just looked kinda stressed? and i-." he pauses before holding something wrapped in her direction. "i'm stressed too, and i usually come on walks and eat some bread to feel better. so... yeah." kora eyed the wrapped bread, noting he also had one for himself in his other hand. kora wasn't really sure what to do. if soobin had moved closer, she was sure he would've been able to hear the whirring of her components. silently, she just took the bread and unwrapped it, looking back at the basketball court as she ate quietly. it didn't really taste like much, but for some reason kora didn't have the heart to stop. she truly was at a loss for words. the pair continued to eat their bread and mind their business, occasionally sneaking glances at the other. after an hour or so, the boy cleared his throat before speaking again. "i have to go now. but, my name is soobin. it was nice to meet you and i hope your troubles will ease soon." he stood up and did a small bow before retreating. kora's head tilted to the side. what just happened?

not too long after debuting, kora runs into soobin again- this time at a music show. the two meet eyes at the same time, and a flash of recognition appears in both of their irises. soobin is excited- what are the odds he would run into the pretty girl again after all this time? to be honest he always thought about her and wondered how she was doing. kora, on the other hand, is absolutely mortified- it was like her two worlds meeting at once and it scared the out of her. what if he told on her? it was a silly thought, but kora couldn't take any chances and started backing away. soobin tried to catch up with her, but ultimately had to go back to his group.
txt and girlx are on a lot of the same shows and attend the same events, so it was only a matter of time before they ran into each other again. kora had her walls up and ignored him every time soobin tried to talk to her, much to his confusion. this only made him worried and wanted to talk to her even more to make sure the girl (whom he learned is named kora) was doing okay. eventually other groups began to notice how kora spoke to other people but was cold to this one person, and gossiped about it. this was even more of a nightmare, so kora tried to save face by begrudgingly replying to soobin whenever he approached.
after awhile, kora grew not to mind so much when soobin approached. there was something about him, the same thing that rendered her speechless when they first met. the boy was just too wholesome, too caring- and yet he had wit that rivaled kora's. he was so different to the types of humans she saw on her nightly adventures, the evil and mean ones. maybe being around him isn't so bad. his caring questions, the shy way he speaks about his interests and doesn't seem deterred when kora gives a vague answer about her own. for the first time, kora can honestly say she wants another being as a friend.
jumping forward a few weeks, kora is out and about again, and like a rewind of a long ago memory she runs into soobin. he's riding a bike and stops when he notices kora standing outside of an art exhibit. kora is startled at first, but relaxes once she realizes it's him. am i actually happy to see him? "you know it's closed, right?" soobin remarks teasingly, nodding towards the exhibit. "i know!" kora scoffs, kicking a pebble before looking up at him. "what are you doing out here so late, anyway?" soobin shrugs, looking at the girl with a small smile. "just clearing my head. want a ride?" kora is too eager to accept, having never been on a bike before, she doesn't even bother trying to hide it like she usually does.
that bike ride truly started it all, the young pair exchanged numbers afterwards and text each other when one of them sneaks out so they could meet up. they start spending so much time together that kora starts being sloopy, even almost getting caught a few times. the young girl realizes that she truly enjoys soobin's company, she loves hearing about his life and his thoughts and after so long of him being the only one opening up, kora starts to open as well. slowly she reveals her love of animals, her favorite songs, and eventually her love of art. kora doesn't realize it, but soobin is unlocking a part of her that she doesn't realize exists- a part of her that can care for other beings.

ahh she's finally done!! lemme preface by saying i'm not sure how much robot the girls are, even though they're made with human dna i just assumed they're a lot of robot and so i mentioned kora doesn't need to eat or sleep and doesn't age and other really robotic/android things like that, if it's not what you had in mind though, let me know!! i hope kora and lottie aren't too similar, kora's character came to me out of nowhere and after writing her i noticed some similarities, but i also made sure that they're different in a lot of aspects as well. either way, i can't wait to read your thoughts. i hope you enjoyed reading about kora. c:
