Contests on AFF

As we all know, AFF is the best site for reading and writing asian fan fiction. I personally love this site and will never leave it, even if I decide to stop writing (Yeah, right). One thing I have noticed is the lack of interest in participation things, like writing contests and challenges. People were interested before, but now they don't seem to gather as much interest as they did before. 

 

With that said, I love running contests, but also joining them, but it does get a little discouraging when I see that people aren't as interested anymore, or the contest I have entered is closed because the person running it lost interest in it. There is so much potential in contests, because they push us to work on stories and make them the best we can and they also are encouraging with the great prizes. I hope that you guys will continue to  enjoy this site and stay, whether you and here to read or write. They are both important for us, as well as being healthy to do something you enjoy. I hope you will all be encouraged and also encourage one another to just enjoy this site again and help to liven it up again.

I usually stalk them because i know good contents from good writers are gonna be there to read!
the lack of interest is also due to the steep increase in traffic this site is gaining by day. not a lot of people are still staying and less people are joining aff i feel like.

I think contests are great! Picking a prompt or a quote and coming up with a fitting plot is a fun challenge. 😊 And even if you don't win in the end, it's still nice to participate. 😆
Sadly, the restrictions/rules often make it hard for me to join. I only write Idol x OC stories and they aren't allowed in many contests I've seen on this website. I think I've only joined two so far. lol

I like contests and join them when I can, but usually there are restrictions on what groups to write for. Since I really only enjoy writing EXO, I often can't enter my stories in the contests. These days, my attention is given to writing for fic fests on twitter, because I can join EXO-centric fests. I also like that all stories in a fest are given love, rather than just the winners. That's just my personal feelings of course!

I love contests and am grateful for the ones you host. Since the beginning of the year, I've been stuck in a rut however and feel my stories circle around the same topics. It's that hurdle that I can't seem to get over; writing about new things is discouraging, too.
Besides that, it's a matter of time, of trying to fit everything I want within a day. Sometimes writing, where progress takes time to clearly see, is the first thing I cross out of a daily itinerary.

Speaking for myself, I get discouraged often. Thinking my story is not good enough to enter in competition let alone to win. I entered two but I ended up missing the deadline because of lack of motivation. I wish to have more confidence... :(
