Appearance.

Though he looks lanky, he is anything but. He's on the more toned side, because if he were too built, it wouldn't look too good with his current "flower boy" image. His natural hair color is dark brown, and straight. He doesn't do much to it unless stylists take a shot at it. If it were up to him he'd shove his hair into a beanie and call it a day. He has naturally brown eyes, and uses glasses or contact lenses. He has a slanted scar on his right tricep from a childhood accident. At one point he had snake bite piercings on his lower lip but he's officially let one close up and traded it for another lip piercing on the right side of his lip, resulting in his spider bite piercings. He doesn't always have them in though. (The rest is similar to fc).

Style. lookbook

In regards to his personal style, he doen't like graphic tee shirts much and instead opts for solid colors. (Click the link above to be redirected to his closet...)

Personality.

Zion prides himself on his intelligence. When he speaks, its because he knows what he's talking about. He's against going off of hunches and assumptions because there's no way to back himself up if the facts aren't correct. When Zion is doing somethisng he loves or is interested in, he's somewhat very confident and his outward demeanor attracts others. He's wonderful in groups especially and though he prefers working alone he doesn't mind working alongside a group of people. However, he's very intolerant of people who will try to slow him down or go against his flow. He finds almost every situation to be a learning one but his favorite method of learning is autodidact. He's most willing to go outside of the box in order to learn new things, and he enjoys it enough to do it alone, especially when nobody else will follow his lead. He's very daring in this sense but it also causes a lot of tension and rift in friendships when it crosses the line to them thinking that he's inconsiderate or insensitive to their feelings. Zion's extremely attracted to debate, as getting proven to be wrong acts as another learning situation. He wholeheartedly respects people who stand up to him no matter how angry they are at him forthe ways he takes to proving his point. Zion can't turn away from challenges.

Zion isn't naturally warm or fuzzy as he'd rather be right over being the popular hottie who goes along with anything. Because Zion likes a good arguement, sometimes he deems others opinions needless.Yeah, he feels more superior and the fact that he'd been a straight A+ student his entire life doesn't help one bit. Zion's the type of person who doesn't like to take emotions into accountability outloud but internally, he knows just how important it is. He struggles constantly, but wears a mask on his face daily because sometimes he feels so strongly that his judgement is clouded, and to a person like Zion, that can't happen. Like this, Zion also struggles to find people who can keep up with his nonstop analysisof the world around him. Zion won't get on a train in which he doesn't know where he's going; if somebody is asking him to do something, he needs to know the details. He's not the type of person who will go in blindly just because you're his "friend" or just because he "owes you one". The same thing with authority; if he doesn't understand why you're stopping him or trying to discipline him for something, the punishment needs to fit the crime and/or he needs to have done something worthy of a punishment. He is sometimes single-minded/one-track minded with little patience for distractions or idle gossip which doesn't help his case one bit but he does have ways of making up for it if you're willing to stick around just a little bit longer.

Zion's full of contradiction. Imaginative, yet decisive. Ambitious yet private. Curious yet focussed. It's daunting, and almost makes no sense at all but once you begin to understand Zion's inner workings, it makes perfect sense. His mind works like a game of chess. Every move he makes is calculated, he contemplates his strengths and weaknesses before he reahces for a checkmate.

Background.

Yifei was the daugther to two hell-bent traditional parents. They wanted her to study to become some sort of world renowned lawyer, and they challenged her at every turn. Yifei was never the type of girl who would go against her parents. She just agreed and kept her head down, no matter how much it taxed her. That is, until she met Guaoling her freshman year of university. Guaoling was her senior in the criminal justice major. He was at the top of his class and often involved in the major projects that the frashman menteed. He wouldn't necessarily go out of his way to hang out with Yifei at first, but from their various encounters he'd picked up on the fact that it the criminal justice line of work just wasn't something she had been excited about. He'd confronted her about it on a special ocassion when the group got together for dinner. They were the last two to leave the restaurant that night. He offered to walk her home, and that's when he told her about his observations (not that it was any of his business, but he never could keep his opinions to himself anyway); about how defeated she looked when her exams were returned to her, about how tired she always looked and how much time she spent over studying to please her parents, and about how her eyes glimmered when she was doing anything else but studying catalogs on criminal justice.

Yifei already knew that she didn't like criminal justice, but to know that other people knew it as well came as a blow to the gut. How much longer would it be until her parents realized it and had a dissapointing talk to her about it? She didn't know how to tone that part of her down, and suddenly she felt overwhelmed, ultimately spilling her truths to him, her senior whom she didn't know the slightest about. Every little thing up to the big things were laid before him, and he suddenly understood all of it."Often times, you do not need to walk the same path your parents walked in order to be the person you want to be. The path to righteousness, although sometimes lonely is far more pleasureable when you're doing what you want to be doing surrounded by the people who cheer you on." From that night forward, Yifei decided to take her life into her own hands, and she didn't stop her tread, not for anybody.

Yifei married Guaoling the following year, and welcomed their only son the year after that. Thus begun Zion's journey to righteousness. Yifei switched majors, and never looked back. She thrived in mathematics, and became a business major, opening her own restaurant as a graduation gift to herself. Zion grew up in the restaurant. As a child, Zion was very playful and even a bit troublesome. He and his cousin, Daiyu would always cause some kind of chaos that YiFei had to appologize to customers for but that never dampened anybody's mood too much.

Zion started his own music journey despite his fathers wishes for him in middle school. It was the only time Zion really remembers his parents actually arguing. It was the time that Zion was most thankful to have his mother on his side. She fought tooth and nail for Zion to be able to follow his dreams and through that he was able to connect a whole lot more with his mother than ever before. Listening to her own story made him realize why he never really met his maternal grandparents, and even though he'd felt bad about that before, it was clear that his feeling had been misdirected. From that day forward, he let those feelings go and treausred his mother more.

At school, Zion had been bullied slightly for being the only boy in choir at his school, but truthfully, the girls loved having him, and he was good at what he was doing. Even though he liked singing, that wasn't where his heart truly lied. All throughout highschool, he spent his time writting rap and challenged himself with spoken word. He tried his hand at entering talent contests and even surprised himself when an agent wanted to recruit him as a model. Although flattered by it, he denied them straightforward, stating that he wanted to be a rapper, not a pretty boy for people to oggle at. It was definitely memorable, i'll tell you that. It was so impactful that weeks later, that same agent booked him for pledis only to lose him nine months later to dal media, a company who fought just as hard to help his dream become a reality.

Relationships.

Mother / Xue Yifei (fc: zhang ziyi) / 42 years old / Resaurant Owner / Kind, Caring, Understanding, Selfless, Eccentric, Flamboyant, Lively
Growing up, Zion was no doubt a mommy's boy. No matter what his father said, his mother always cushioned the blow. Zion was her only child and she wanted him to experience as much as he could. Being the daughter of strict, traditional parents made her become a very lose mother, and she created a bond between her and her son that would never be broken. She always encourages him to confide in her, and she never judges him. She's his stone, a person he can fall back on when times get hard, and a person who will put him back on track when he's gone off course.

Father / Zhang Guaoling (fc: tony leung) / 58 years old / Major General, Marine Corps. / Candid, Assertive, Stern, Conclusive, Prompt
All his life, all Zion ever recieved from his father was tough love. No matter how angry Guaoling got with the schemes his wife and son pulled behind his back, at the end of the day they were the two most precious treasures he had.As long as Guaoling knew that Zion was going down the right path, he considered his parenting a success. Guaoling doesn't openly show affection to anybody, but he does become instantly softer around Zion and Yifei.

Best Friend, Cousin / Zhao Daiyu (fc: wang yimiao) / 23 years old / University Student, Fashion Major / Boisterous, Warm, Empathic, Optimistic, Charismatic
The thickest of theives. Their relationship is more like brother and sister than cousins, and they're all they've known growing up. No matter what hardships they face, they're always there for one another.

Best Friend / Wen Liang (fc: song jiyang) / 23 years old / Dal Media Trainee / Loquacious, Flirty, Kind, Out-Going, Witty
People often thing that the reason Zion is a good person is because he's almost always hanging out with Liang. Liang is the complete opposite of Zion, and he acts as a mediator, or Zion's conscious; constantly steering him in the right direction. Since they work under the same company they do tend to make time for each other and hang out very often.

**(While they were both trainee's at Pledis, they stopped talking to each other but once Zion switched over to Dal Media, their friendship got better and not long after, Dal Media also signed him as a trainee where the two mended their friendship).

Trainee Life.
At first, Zion didn't want anything to do with modeling. It was what Pledis Entertainment had wanted him for in the first place. He so strictly turned them down that even Liang felt the burn. The two of them had turned to busking in China over their summer break and even though Zion didn't want to audition for companies, it was Liang who had convinced him to do so. They were unstopable together, but the auditions were much harder as an individual. Not one company wanted to take up the teens individually. So when Pledis Entertainment came back a second time with an offer for Zion, he made the agent extend a branch to Liang as well. It was the two of them or none of them. Though Pledis had taken the two of them on, this is where Zion learned the hardships of life as an idol trainee.

Zion couldn't be too demanding, otherwise he'd be deemed unworkable, or bratty. Being one or the other was a no-go. Nobody in the industry wanted to work with somebody like that. On top of that, he also found out that he wasn't as good as he wanted to be against some of the other trainees. That's when he decided that he really needed to pull his big boy shoes on and start running instead of walking. With Liang by his side, he pushed for the two of them to the top, ultimately straining their friendship for quite a while. About nine months into training with Pledis Entertainment, another company extended their offer to Zion, which he instantly took on a whim since he and Liang weren't getting along anyway.

Dal Media helped Zion get out of his trainee contract with Pledis Entetainment. At Dal Media, Zion learned much of what he carries in his arsenal. He learned major singing and rapping techniques and he didn't feel threatened by other trainees either. Instead, he shared his secrets and they shared theirs. Everybody helped everyone to succeed...well, most of them anyway. Zion wasn't much of a dancer but through Dal Media, at least now he could hold a rhythm and follow choreography. By the time he was chosen for a debut line-up, that's when he heard word that a new trainee had been signed by audition; none other than his best friend, Liang. Their time apart had been just what they needed in order to mend what had been broken before. When they saw each other at work, it was as if nothing had happened to them. They had picked up right where they left off. Together, they helped each other reach success.

Comments/questions. Hi, hello. Wow this took me forever but HEY I hope you like Zion, and that he can literally improve by the end of the story (or aka, that somebody can change his mind about how much of an a**hole he is). ^^ I'm really excited to see how this story progresses, since it's a really good idea i've been wanting to toy around with myself ^^ <3

Suggestions. Now that I think about it i think it would be cool if Zion and Liang got into a fight? Since Liang is somewhat of a soundboard to Zion, it would be cool to see what really matters to Zion, so that he can mature on his own and acutally appreciate how much Liang has helped him out.

Hey there Sun! Thanks for applying for Twilight with a great character!

I really do like Zion and could not find anything wrong with your application! So I will keep this short and let you know that Zion has been accepted! I feel like he could be a good fit for Twilight if he is chosen.
