hello! this is just a collection of all the things i like to use to make my applyfic apps look pretty and detailed. i figured i'd share them in case someone wanted some easy ways to spice up their app!

character creation.  

characterization thread. by moonbok. 10/10, super helpful!

korean name list: female & male, surnames. the one i had linked before seemed to be ripped from this tumblr, so either that person took the list or they have an account here on aff. just to be safe i linked the tumblr instead because it was posted earlier than the aff thread + surnames are included!

personality traits. a huge list of positive, neutral and negative traits to help with the personality section. quick note: this site is from an mit professor's class or project or something from ages ago, it's legit but the browser says it's "not secure." i've used it for years and had no problems with it, but if you're nervous about it i'd recommend passing on this one. every other site listed on here is 100% safe and secure though.

personality database. i love this site. you can type in an mbti type and/or an enneagram type and find celebrity & fictional characters with the same type(s). so useful for finding inspiration.

mbti, enneagram types, hogwarts houses. fun descriptors to further develop your character!

astrology: sun signs, moon signs & rising signs. to get a general understanding, check this out. plug in your character's birthdate into a birth chart calculator to get their signs! then check out this site to see what their sun & moon signs combined mean.

app decoration.  

html color codes & html codes from images the first website is so easy to use, just use the grid to find a nice color and it's accompanying html code! the second site allows you to find the html color for a color on an image. this is great if you want your layout to match a picture you're using.

this thread by btshoc has some cute color palettes. however, you can use coolors to create your own.

lunapic has been a lifesaver over the years. i use it to crop pictures quickly but it has other features too. lunapic also has an imgur button at the bottom which gets you the link for the image without having to save it and upload it yourself. 10/10.

aspect ratio calculator when apps have picture slots that have to be, for example, 200 x 160, but you have a picture wayyyy bigger or smaller than that and it'll look distorted, you can easily find out how much cropping you need to do to get it to fit. for example, if you're picture is 500 wide, just type it into W2 like this: now you know your picture's height needs to be cropped to 400 in order to fit the 200 x 160 slot without being distorted!

coding thingz. tiramisu by eggtion is a layout tutorial thread that i found super helpful when trying to tweak & personalize my apps! same with let's code for your fanfic by hera_2104. be sure to always check the rules in either the applyfic or the layout shop to see what levels of tweaking are allowed!

extra.  

for kfashion specifically, check out hide & seek by jinbwi & this tumblr. for more diverse styles & makeup, accessories etc. i'd highly recommend making a pinterest account!
