my nails are very thick, thanks to the vitamins that i take. my nails aren't shaped so i decided to shape them, it was very painful *while using a glass nail file* and i think i'm going to switch back to emery board nail files. i have learned about nail files grits. so 180 is the best for nail shaping but if you have thin nails go for 240 grit instead. my experience when my nails were still short, the glass nail file worked pretty well without my nails hurting but i grew my nails and when i tried filing them with the same glass nail file; it was horrible! my nails were buzzing while i was filing i tried to be very gentle and slow on filing but my nails were buzzing; it felt like my nails were coming off. i couldn't take the buzzing but i continued to shape and file my nails tryna ignore the buzzing painful feeling. i managed to shape my nails despite the painful buzzing. i will be buying a nail file which is a classic old school emery board nail file. but yall remember this what products that doesn't work for me, might work for you. my sister called me and i told her about me and shaping my nails, she insulted my nails lol and told me to go to a salon and let a prefessional shape them for me. i was like "? have u seen my social anxiety around people?" and i bounced tf out; told her that im a strong independent woman who could do things herself, have you seen the "quarantine prices" ITS SO EXPENSIVE NOW so i prefer to do my nails myself, thank you very much. doing my nails= hobby of mine. tbh if i go to the mall to fish out and buy the products that i'd be eyeing people keep getting them, lowkey hating them for that :<< first make-up, then skincare and now this ugh. but ya know they might be reading my blogs here LOL i hope not because it be awkward as hell. so i have shaped my nails meaning they be short now TT but whatever OH! the shape of my nails are squoval, but you can't really tell since i did them poorly but the shape is there *kinda lol* my natural nails looks odd to others lol like my pinky and ring finger in both hands are squared and my thumb,index and middle finger in both hands are ovals *natural forms since i was a kid* it felt really weird having my nails shaped into squovals but we'll managed hopefully. i have no trust in nail techs here in my city since they be buffing the nail beds and i dont like that but i have no guts to speak out to it TT also they can be very hard in handling nails like my toes bleeded tf out in a pedicure last 2018. it's just a no for me lol
