2017. Hwajin accompanied a heartbroken Seungyoun to drink.

"Why do girls always wanted a handsome, successful rich man or whatever-r.." Seungyoun complained, his speech slurred due to him being drunk on his fourth bottle of soju. His girlfriend, well his ex-girlfriend now had broken-up with him so he's drinking to his death.

"Not all girls are like that, and you need to stop drinking." Hwajin has been drinking too but she's not that reckless to gulp down a single bottle of alcohol in one go, she could only drink it part by part and hope that a single glass of water is enough to dillute the alchol. She tried snatching the bottle away from the drunken man but he only avoided her and scooted away.

"Bull, you're also like that noona." He drank from the bottle again before continuing, "Remember that you rejected me because you only like mature and stable men." Seungyoun laughed, pointing a finger at Hwajin, who only stayed silent at his accusation.

"And not me, a guy who cries easily, clingy like a child, and who currently had nothing." Then he took a gulp again from his soju, staring blankly at the wall of his room.

"Nothing at all, because I'm an idol whose career failed." Hwajin can't described his expression at all, it could be laughing and crying at the same time. She really felt bad for Seungyoun. He debuted two years ago but his group immediately faced hiatus due to conflict between mainland china and south korea.

Other than that, she felt bad when she rejected him because it was true that she's.. looking for a mature and stable guy. Seungyoun was more like a childish younger brother, despite all the feelings and effort he did for her.

Due to her urge to comfort Seungyoun and also her guilty feelings for rejecting him. Hwajin crossed a line that wasn't supposed to be breached at all.

"Seungyoun stop drinking, let's sleep okay?" Like coaxing a child, Hwajin removed the bottle from his hand and gently pulled the man into her embrace. Moments later, a pair of arms slowly wrapped around her waist.

And they both know that it was a sleepless night filled with pleasure.

2019. Hwajin accompanied a new? Seungyoun to drink.

"Noona." Hwajin found Seungyoun staring at her, his eyes twinkling in mischief and excitment. This guy invited her to drink because he wanted to share something that deserves a celebration.

"Seungyoun, I swear I'll walk out of your house if you did not tell me-"

"I got casted!" Suddenly, Seungyoun raised both of his arms as he shout. Hwajin only looked at him with an unamused face, like she'll really walk out if he didn't give a relevant reason for that fuss.

"You kill joy, I got casted in the third season of Romantic and Idol." He grinned before taking a shot of his drink.

Hwajin felt her body run cold. Like a bucket of water was poured over her.

Her heart was beating so fast that she wanted to clutch it tight to make it stop. There's a lot of information to process but Hwajin managed to keep her composure.

"How did that happen?" She's overloading with emotions but her voice sounded so cold and snappy when she asked that. Seungyoun raised an eyebrow at her but didn't comment on her unusual behavior.

"You might look down at me but this friend of yours has a lot of friends and connections behind the scenes, although I'm not really popular." He clicked his tongue, fishing out his phone and swiping on its screen.

Right, Hwajin nearly forgot.. or say almost did not notice the huge changes in Seungyoun. She only realized it now, that the Seungyoun in the past who wallowed in bitterness and unfairness of life is now a new brand man. A man who finally found his passion in music, producing songs for idol groups and making connections by using his talent. He may not be popular to the netizens, but he's sure a well-known figure behind the scenes.

"What about Produce X? You're about to film for it." She reprimanded him, yet deep inside, she knows that it's only an excuse to stop him.

"Boomer, this show will only take a few days and It won't conflict with my produce schedule." He retorted, fiddling with his phone excitedly.

"... and noona, look who is the current cast." Hwajin snapped out from her reverie and stared at Seungyoun, who's currently sporting a small smirk while staring at his phone.

She flinched as she saw a primal side of him that she had never seen before. It's almost predatory, and Hwajin can't help but feel bothered by it.

"It's my lovely ex, Choi Jaeeun." He smiled, but there's something wrong. Something's wrong with him. There's a hint of disdain hidden in his eyes.

When did Seungyoun changed so much?

There's a nagging feeling that Hwajin can't brush off yet she also felt something that she's so bothered about.

Why is she so uncomfortable at the thought of him joining the program, talking and flirting with the girls?

She felt suffocated, conflicted and confused. Her hands itchy like she wants to slap those girls. trembling like it can't wait to spout some poisonous words.

Is this jealousy?

In the end, her self-control lose against her inhibitions and she volunteered herself to join the program.
