i am looking for bridge fanatics

not Fanatics, just ppl who play or want to play. i've been learning with my family but only my dad really knows how to, and my mom and brother aren't interested. the closest clubs near us are miles away, and there's a club at school but i can't go back to school next semester lol. i'm sure i can still sign up for the club but there's not much point in learning online when i'm already dead inside (in-person learner for sure).

but! i went online and the american contract bridge league (ACBL) has a whole 'learn how to play!' page and there are some nice tutorials that i plan to check out! i already roped a friend into checking it out but she's also really busy and idk if she can stick through with it :( it's a hard game to learn and you need time for it to really stick.

and yes, i am in fact looking for a partner to play with :( i know it'd be much easier if we were all in-person and then i could actually test my 默契 (idk how to translate the but my friend said 'synergy' and it fits pretty well) with ppl but yeah. i just want a partner so i can play with real people lol.

i mean there's nothing wrong with playing against AI and it makes things a hell of a lot simpler in terms of not having to be embarrassed. i'm sure bridge AI is pretty advanced, but sometimes ppl can take you by surprise lol and the best way to learn is of course to play against real people.

i only know the bare basics. i know 2C as a starting bid is used for a super strong hand. i know 2D as a starting bid is flannery but idk why you'd ever need it and also i never remember it anyway. which means i barely know how to start a bid and am bad as responding. it's likely that i'll be playing mostly online through bridge base online, though, so it might be worthwhile to learn its bidding system.

tl;dr: anyone play bridge? if so, wanna teach me? if not, wanna learn? i need a partner because no one around me is interested or i don't think they can stick through (bad faith i know but everyone's busy).
