This is a much needed rant.

Hello, yes I'm ranting. Because damn it I'm TIRED of the constant rants about silent readers.

I get it, they're the bane of every author's existence. I get them all the time, hell some of my most subbed to stories have like 0 comments.

The crowdfunding thing is nice, I even have one but I haven't set it up yet due to not needing to.

Before anyone asks, I've been in the writing scene since about 2008. granted I've been rping since then and started writing fanfics 8 years later but that's beside the point.

IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO START A DAMN PATREON OF ALL THINGS TO GET PEOPLE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT'S FREE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I've gotten to the point where I'd almost prefer subs to comments because my specialty is in the most overused genre of the fanfiction world ~~I'm a wolfau writer so yes, it's one of the most overused genres in the world right now~~

If it's for this covid thing, I'd understand because jobs right now are scarce af. I'm lucky to still have mine, but I'm not only a content creator here, I'm also on twitch with a sub button and I don't beg for donations everytime I stream. Or subs for that matter. This is what I feel like is going on now even here.

Yes, feedback is greatly appreciated. Even if I don't get them half the time

Yes I'm fine with silent readers.

But no, I will not set up a damn patreon to practically beg for feedback.

I understand your point.
But sometimes authors get tired of talking to a wall. When they genuinely know that they're writing something impressive, they feel like they deserve some recognition, or just something in return. Which is why they choose patreon over enduring silent readers.

Its understandable because writing is time consuming.

I personally wont do patreon because my stories .

I write because its fun and stress relieving.
