Ryan has zero fears. she will stand up in front of a crowd of people and talk about anything and she can walk up to anyone new and talk to them. She loves trying new things and will never back down from anything. She is charming and warm, which makes people flock towards her. She has the natural ability to make people feel welcome and comfortable. She often goes out of her way to help others or make sure they are alright.
Ryan wants to be able to do things on her own, even if her friends are right there offering their help. She often will run herself ragged trying to do things herself rather than ask for help. She does not stand for injustice, of any kind. When she would see trainees being bullied she would say something, if fans are getting too close to the members she will say something and when people are being treated wrong she will speak up. She doesnt care if it will bother someone's feelings, she just cant keep quiet. She likes to take life by the horns and try everything. Sometimes it has lead her into some hard situations, she still says she would rather have memories than wishes.
People notice when Ryan walks into the room. She has a loud personality that people tend to take notice of. When she lived in the states that was fine but a lot of people get put off by it in Seoul. She gets dirty looks from older generations and the younger generations laugh at her often. She tends to ignore it but some friends are embarrassed by it. When she goes through something hard or painful or difficult she will cut herself off from her friends and family to try to deal with things herself. When people try to push in she will push back and drop them completely. She accepts almost anything from people and never wants people to be down on themselves, she has very different standards for herself. If she doesnt get everything perfect or correctly she will get frustrated and down on herself. When she gets into a slump she needs to find something strenuous to distract her with.

Ryan's parents knew eachother their entire lives. Jodi's best friend is Jonathan's younger sister so most of the time he seemed like her older brother as well. He always had a crush on her but told himself not to, she was his sister best friend, it would be weird. Eventually he threw that out the window and asked her to his junior prom her freshman year. She of course said yes, she had a massive crush on him her entire life. 
For the next two years they dated steadily. Jonathan was going to a local collage so he was still living at home and spent all his extra time with Jodi. 
The 80's were a differant time so when Jodi went to her mother saying she was pregnant her parents werent that upset but she was expected to marry Jonathan. Neither of them minded that much and a month after Ronan was born Jodi graduated and the two of them got married. 
They wanted to wait for their next child, they needed to make sure they would have a family in a good place and be able to raise the kids properly.
After Jonathan graduated with a business degree they decided to go on and start haveing more kinds, keep the family growing. The next two years they had two more boys and were happy with their family. 
Jodi entered the navy as an information technoloy analysis. It was a relitivly simple job and she was able to stay home with her family. A few years later though she foudn out that they were going to have another child. She was excited but worried she would lose her job. She held off talking to her superiors as long as possible but they promised her she wouldnt lose her job so she went home and did her best to get ready for their assumed fourth boy. When Ryan came out they were totaly unprepaired. 
As long as anyone can remember Ryan has been like one of the boys. She played in the mud with her older brothers and refused to wear dresses, she said they were too fragile and she would rip them if she wore them. Her mom forced her into one once but Ryan ripped it, intentionally. She was not going to be differant from her brothers. 
Her love for dancing started early. Her oldest brother got into dancing to impress a girl he liked and he often had to watch over the younger ones so they were exposed to it all the time. It bothered the others but Ryan loved it, she that it was so cool that she had a personal dance teacher. She would always be in the room with Ronan, copying the moves he made and when he would yell at her she would sneak out of the room, shreaking with laughter. 
When she was nine her parents decided to get all four of them proper dance classes. Ryan and Aston were in the beginer level classes and Ronan and Kian were in the advanced class but Ryan wanted to be in the same class as Ronan. She demanded to know what it would take for her to be in the avanced class so the instructors gave her a list of things she would have to do. It took a few months but she worked her off and left Kian behind so she could be with Ronan. After that everyone at the dance studio started taking her seriously. After her, Aston was the youngest in the advanced class. She made people take notice of her. 
Her brothers started taking b boying lessions so naturally Ryan had to start doing it too. Kian and Aston kept trying to make her leave them alone and to let them do their own thing but she refused. They kept trying to learn more complicated moves to hopefully keep ahead of her and discurage her but that just kept making her get better. She kept insisting she was a b boy too but they kept insisting she couldnt be one. 
By the age of 15 Ryan was a really good dancer. She was on a local dance crew made up of only b boys and people always joked that she was making them not a real team. She kept getting down on herself because seh liked what she was doing but she didnt fit in. Ronan stopped her one day and made her watch houors of b girls on youtube to prove to herself that she wasnt the only girl who liked what she was doing. He started going to her practice with her and looked intimidating to anyone who wanted to give her . Unsuprisingly the hate stopped off almost right away. 
Four years ago Ryan's mom was offered an oppourtunity she could not turn down. She had been moving up in rank and now she was being asked to go to the Navy base in Seoul, South Korea to be a liaison for them at the US embassy there. She didnt even have to think about it, she just needed to talk to her family. Ryan's dad was 100% on board but ryan was going to have to leave her friends and life to go with her parents. Ronan offered Ryan to live with him but he has a small one bedroom apartment hardly big enough for him. Ryan packed up her life and moved to Seoul with her parents. 
Honestly, it wasnt that bad. they lived in a neighborhood just off the bast that felt like the subburbs back home. They got a dog that she was responsible for taking care of. There was a school on base for the children and it catered to all the bases in Seoul. Ryan hardly left the base the first few months she lived there. 
Her mom could see how much she missed dancing but there was no arts classes on the base and she spoke only a few words in Korean so it took a while to find a dance instructor who spoke English but she did. A young man from Austraillia had a large dance studio and catered to the more upper class in Seoul. Her mom was so excited to find him that she didnt mind he was a total , she just wanted to get Ryan dancing again. At first Ryan didnt mind it at all either but he slowly started wearing him down again. 
A handful of the other girls at the studio were planning to leave by becoming trainees. There was a four day stretch of four differant companies having auditions on those days: JYP Entertainment, TS Entertainment, TOPMedia and Somera Music. It didnt take a lot of convincing from the girls to get Ryan to join them.

trainee life.
Ryan worked on a portion of f(x)'s Rum Pum Pum and didnt have a plan for her dance. She was just going to play some good music and dance, its better to do it that way than to plan out a breakdancing routine. Clearly it was what the judges wanted because she got a call from two companies, TOPMedia and TS Entertainment. Two of the other girls from the dance studio were going to TS so Ryan decided to go with them.
When she showed up on the first day, Ryan was dismayed to find out the other two ended up not joining TS. She was determined to make it something good.
Ryan convinced her parents to get them a big mirrored wall and she would spend hours dancing in front of it, often being in the way for the others. It bothered them a lot at first but they started getting used to it. To Ryan, what else did she have to do? She didnt have a job, her parents made sure she could focus on dancing so they made sure she had what ever she needed and sometimes a little more.
Most of the time during their actual training Ryan would spend her time working on singing. She wasnt terrible at singing in the first place but she did want to get better at it. She spent all of her time working on Korean. Randomly the girls would ask her what words mean and if she didnt get it right they would throw something like a shoe at her. It was all in good fun, they were always trying to help her learn the language.
When TS took a dive and they were informed they were no longer trainees Ryan's heart stopped. This was what she wanted, she wanted to be on the stage, dancing. She actually started crying which she doesnt do often. She didn't know who else to call so she called Ronan and he came to get her right away. They spent the day together and he said they were going to figure things out the next day but when Ryan woke up her phone was blowing up, her freinds kept telling her she needed to go somewhere right now, she needed to get there as soon as possible. It was hours after that she finally responded and met up with them. 
She had to register with people and verify her identity but she soon was packed into a meeting room to let the trainees know what was happening. 

predebut experiences.

April, 2008- November, 2010 + Ryan was on a local B boy crew. They were all from the same dance studio but they would go out to dance competitions and just goof off all the time.
May, 2014 - September, 2017 + Ryan started doing dance videos on YouTube. Sometimes it would be her own dances or covers of dances then she started doing tutorials on how to learn popular dances. Once Ground Nova started getting more serious she had to stop because she didnt have time.

Ryan was working on a self solo album but stopped after three songs. They were never professionally recoreded, just on her computer. She may come back to them in the future but she isnt sure.
