— DESMOND EDEVANE.

ARIEL // CLOUD-Z

NICKNAMES. —
✎ — DES, DESI, DESMO : Common nicknames that are often used by his friends and family. Desmond typically goes by "Des" and will encourage people to call him that.

✎ — Prof. Frankenstein : A playful nickname that is commonly used by his students and his friends. This stems from Desmond's love for the sciences and experimentation, to which in his childhood people joked that he'd become a "Mad Scientist" some day. Desmond does find that people think that he's some "deformed person" if they hear his nickname, or that his students are making fun of him. In reality, Desmond enjoys the nickname quite a bit, and it helps that he he shows his students the classic movie Frankenstein sometime during the school year.

✎ — The Fun (Crazy) One : Self explanatory. Desmond is known for being a "mood-maker" who tries to keep things "fun"

✎ — The Non-Magical One : A nickname that is used by other Wizards or Witches. This is done in comparison with Desmond's older brother and younger brother who are both (muggle-born) wizards.

Desmond has fair-tanned skin, with large hands and almost delicate looking fingers. He is visibly fit and toned, with a sharp jawline and high cheekbones. As such, Desmond has been told that he's attractive and easy-on-the-eyes.

HIS PERSONAL INFORMATION.

PERSONALITY
Desmond is most known for being a highly expressive, easy-going, and playful individual. It's in his nature to, in a way, wear his heart on his sleeve. Desmond values honesty, and for this reason tries to be as genuine as he possible can in every situation he is in. This is even more apparent, because as an empathetic person, Desmond wants to see the people around him successful and happy. Thus, in order to relax them or to see them smile, it is uncommon to see Desmond acting in a somewhat silly, talktative, loud, and whimisical way. For this reason, it isn't uncommon for Desmond to "steal the show" or to have all eyes on him.

Being playful, it's also easy to see Desmond's unbridled curiousity and adventerous personality. While this does make him distractable as he finds fascination in even the most simplest of things, it also means that Desmond is a very inquisitive and innovative person who is known for asking questions or investigating things himself. He has a love for learning new things, and is quite fearless when it comes to his purusement of knowledge. Though, as expected, due to his adventerousness, Desmond admits that he can sometimes be impulsive and reckless. However, he's usually able to reign himself in, and others, very well before things tip over the edge.

That being said, because Desmond exhibits these very expressive and playful characteristics, he can be seen as chaotic, hard to control, and extremely impulsive. In reality, this is very much not the case -- it's simply that Desmond does have the tendencies to exaggerate or overplay certain actions because he believes it to be necessary. While he appears childlike and easily distractable, Desmond is actually a very responsible and methodical and his approach to things. He likes to have things under his own control, and organziing things in a way that will always move smoothly or in a way that he can predict when things will happen. It's almost a strange paradoxial idea, because if you don't know him well, people can assume that he has two very different sides to himself.

As stated before, Desmond is an open and friendly person. He likes to smile and make people laugh, and it isn't uncommon for him to throw himself into random or uncomfortable situations in order to gage a person's happiness or engagement. Desmond is a compassionate and selfless person, who finds it easy to relate to the emotions of others. However, this does mean that Desmond is quite concerned with being well-liked with other people, and in many ways it makes him oblivious to his own well-being even though he can be extremely tuned to that of others.

It is also notable that Desmond is an ambivert (thus adding to his adaptability) and his shows. He enjoys his alone time, but he also enjoys being affectionate and close with the people he loves. While Desmond is sociable and easy to be around, on the inside past his crinkled eyes and broad grins, he is quite shy and anxious around strangers, and it take him some time building up courage alone before he can fully take advantage of his sociability. In instances where he's not able to prepare himself, Desmond's throat almost closes up and it becomes hard for him to react.

This all being said, Desmond does have a natural "loud" awkwardness to him -- this occurs during social situations. Being known to sometimes fumble over his words, say random things in random situations, or do things that cause him to go bright red in the face. This is due to the fact that Desmond does have a lot of things going on in his brain -- he is very much a creative intellectual who observes and takes everything into account around him. It's just hard to get those things out of his mouth in a coherent manner sometimes. In many ways this does make Desmond a cute and endearing character, making him popular with both those older and younger than him, especially since he tries to be as relatable as possible.

In a similar fashion, being a creative person Desmond is someone who likes to always be on the move or doing something. Thus, he tends to get bored extremely easily and can go off into his own little world. In these cases Desmond forgets almost everything of what's going on, and has a sort-of tunnel vision. While this does make him miss some social cues or have strange moments where the loud one is suddenly the most quiet, it does mean that Desmond can get things done (in that he's completely focused in something, usually theoretical.)

On another note, while Desmond is an honest person and can be outspoken about his beliefs, he isn't always the most direct person. Espeically in serious situations, because he dosen't like to hurt people's feelings, and he hates conflict. This makes Desmond very uncomfortable, especially when the postlight is put on him. He is, however, more straightforward if he truly believes in something or knows that no one will take it personally. This does make Desmond somewhat idealistic and altruistic because he tries to see the best in people and wants to help wherever he can. For this reason, Desmond is very likely to take a mediator role within a group.

That all being said, Desmond is still a sensitive, vulnerable, and insecure individual (especially from moments in his childhood) who tends to hide his self doubt, timidness, and meekness as much as he can with smiles and crinkled eyes. Despite having his very intelligent, analytical, and ambitious traits, sometimes he is underestimated because of his silliness by people he first meets. Regardless, Desmond's feelings are easily hurt and he is easily stressed and it's easy to mess with his confidence -- no matter how hard he's been trying to build it up. It dosen't help that Desmond has an innate desire to please the people around him... And it's exhausting. In these moments, it's common for Desmond to fiercely overthink and overwhelm himself.

Additionally, Desmond dosen't like to burden people with his worries (especially since he feels that his insecurities are minor), so he never talks about them or shows indications that he is hurting. Ironically, he's one of the best people to go to if you need a comforting shoulder to lean or some good advice, and yet he's terrified of his own feelings. For this reason, he dosen't talk about it aloud and tries to overcome them all by himself. Then, as stated before, because Desmond puts all of this pressure and stress on himself, he can become withdrawn and apathetic to the world around him because he's so concerned with his own being and not really facing his problems even though he's trying to. It's complicated.

— EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE.

BACKGROUND
Desmond was born and raised in East Hertfordshire. His early childhood was largely uneventful and very normal, as he grew up with his parents, and his two brothers as the middle child. In his youth he did show shines of remarkable intelligence, but that was mostly overlooked in favor of being kids having fun. Although in these early years, there were some strange happenings going on, usually whenever his brothers were in the room.

When Desmond's eldest brother, Shepherd, turned 11 years old things suddenly changed. A kind man had suddenly shown up at their doorstep with a letter in hand, and explained that he was a Professor at a school called Hogwarts. He then went onto explain the strange happenings that sometimes occured around Shepherd was actually magic. This had been a magical time for the Edevane family, and they were all overcome with excitement that Sheperd would go to this school to learn about magic. At this time, everything was still fine

It had been weird at first, when Sheperd was gone at Hogwarts for the entire school year. But they managed, and even learned how to use the Owl Post. Desmond was always overjoyed to hear about the facts of the magical world Shepherd would bring back with him during the summers. And then Desmond turned 11. His family, especially Desmond himself, were hoping that he'd also be magical... That was wrong. It was more or less a very concelaed disappointment. Life went on. But then Desmond's youngest brother, Winston, on the day of his 11 birthday recieved his own Hogwarts letter. Their parents had been overjoyed once again -- and while Desmond was excited for his younger brother, he couldn't help but feel a small fit of jealousy. But he quickly swallowed it and thought of all the good things.

Through his teenage years, Desmond had to quickly get used to being in a house all by himself with his parents while his brothers were basically living a fantasy. It was mostly fine for Desmond, who began to throw himself into his work and schooling in order to also be seen as "special" by his parents. Because while he knew that his parents still loved him, he didn't have that certain "spark" that made their eyes glimmer in excitement. Funnily enough, this happened to motivate Desmond to skip 2 grades while he was in secondary school and allowed him to graduate early. Of course his parent's were proud, but it seemed to pale a little in comparison to his brothers telling tales of flying on brooms, transforming cups into dogs, and so on and so forth.

It definetely didn't help that during the summers, his brothers got closer together and left him behind as a third wheel. Whether it was intentional or not, there always seemed to be this sense that "Desmond couldn't understand" so they drifted away from him. This did cause Desmond to become quite angry, especially since he knew information about the magical world. Their whole family sat down at certain points to talk about the differences in their cultures, and how Desmond's brothers could more properly integrate themselves with the wizarding community. So it was insulting to Desmond that he allegedly "couldn't understand."

Upon graduating high school 2 years early, Desmond was accepted to University College London (UCL) studying Physics and Mathematics. Moving away from his family was quite difficult for him at first, but his parents were more than happy to see him go -- not in that they wanted him to leave to leave, but because he did get into a good school and should pursue his career. This was when Desmond realized that his parents, while they were loving, would never be the completely nurturing parents he desired for himself.

At this time in his life, Desmond threw himself into college life, and distanced himself from his family while making a "name" for himself as a young, diligent and talented student. And for a while, he completely forgot about a low brewing resentful that he had for magic and how it completely overshadowed his childhood.

Upon graduating with high honors at 20 years old, Desmond ultimately decided to go into education. After helping to volunteer and interact with younger students and children throughout his college years, his found that while he had a distinct love for science and progressivism, he had an even greater yearning to help the youth of the day. Especially since in today's current society, he felt it to be of even greater importance to educate the youth after seeing those who struggled vs those who succeeded and the disparity there. And, maybe just a little bit of it stemmed from the sort of neglect he faced from his own parents.

In the coming years, Desmond would find a job as a mathematics and physics teacher at a London Highschool, and eventually enter into a relationship with a young women he met. This entire time Desmond had limited to no contact with magic -- especially as he rarely went out of his way to see his family, specifically his brothers -- and was simply living his normal life and pursuing his life goals. How wrong he was.

THE INITIATIVE
During the time of the incident, Desmond had been at been at his flat, making some snacks in the kitchen for himself and Estelle (his girlfriend) who was in the living room waiting for their movie night to start. It was just a typically, relaxing night for them to have a break from their jobs and forget about the real world for a little bit. When he had gone back with a tub of homemade popcorn, brownies, and apple slices, Estelle had suddenly been on her feet with her face paling and phone in hand. Desmond quickly asked her what was wrong, only to have her quickly tell him that she had to live.

She promised that she'd come back as soon as she could, pecked him on the cheek, and quickly ran out of the flat. Still concerned, Desmond resolved himself to wait on his couch. He knew that Estelle had a job in law enforcement, something like the police she had told him jokingly, so he assumed that something had come up. He also knew that she'd explain things after she finished her things, so he tried to calm his worries.

Perhaps a good minute after that, was when he heard multiple large almost thunderous sound outside (there was no storm), and he quickly jumped to his feet. Almost knoking over Azura (his cat), and his tub of popcorn over the ground. Then, at that moment, he got a phone call from Wendy. Feeling a sense of panic settle over him, Desmond answered. The call had been hurried, and Wendy had simply asked whether or not Estelle had left. After Desmond confirmed this, Wendy told him to stay indoors and not to leave his flat for any reason. The call ended.

Completely and utterly confused, Desmond decided to turn on the News on his TV (which had been paused at the beginning of a Disney movie) and was shocked by what he saw. Those were wizards and witches, and not the good kind. Desmond vaguely knew about the "evil" magics from eavesdropping from his siblings when he was small, but this was still like a punch to the stomach. Especially since these wizards and witches were attacking normally people. A sort of terror settled in his veins as he worried about his friend's safety, Estelle's safety, and his family's safety. And, to say the least, he gobbled up as much information he could find about it.

The following days, Desmond found that Estelle had become increasingly more busy -- she had explained that she was helping in the incident, so Desmond understood that. He had absolutely no suspicions.

To his surprise, one day Shepherd had called him on the phone, and they haven't interacted since Easter earlier that year -- it was even more shocking because they rarely call each other either. Desmond had an inkling about what this call would be about, but cautiously picked up anyways. It was an extremely awkward call, with Shepherd trying to lead with a casual "how are you." But Desmond wasn't having any of it. Thus, Shepherd cleared his throat, and explained that at the Ministry of Magic (where he worked) was creating a Muggle Integration program.

Shepherd had then gone off that he wanted to recommend Desmond to join the program, as this was meant to help "fix" the world for the better. Desmond wanted to refuse at first, and he tried. But then Shepherd went on to explain that because Desmond was a "Muggle Teacher" his knowledge would be useful in helping the magical youth (and everyone else) to understand Muggle Cultures, especially since the children would be the new generation. Shepherd then explained a little bit about the cluelessness the magical youth had of the muggle world --it also helped that Desmond already knew things about the magical world. When Desmond asked why Shepherd couldn't do it himself, his older brother sheepishly explained that he was also out of tune with recent Muggle news/information nowadays.

Thus, propelled by his sense of justice and that if he could make a sort of difference, Desmond decided to swallow his small resentment of magic and his brother, and agreed to at least look at the program more in depth. And before he knew it, with Shepherd's references in hand with some other documents, Desmond was being led into a room for an interview.

*Desmond would be more invovled in the integration aspects of the program, providing his knowledge and understandings of both cultures. He would also be heavily invovled in the educational issues that come up. He also did take a year off of schooling in order to participate in the program.

TRIVIA
► Desmond has a female Russian Blue Cat named Azura. He has had Azuya since he was 16 years old, and they've been best friends ever since.

► Desmond lives in a large, modern, and spacious flat in London by himself.

► Desmond currently works at a secondary mathematics and physics teacher at a co-ed high school in London.

► He is a pretty active person. Desmond enjoys working out, or a daily jog or biking.

► While Desmond is a forgiving person, he has always had a sort of resentment for Magic because it sort of took away the normalcy of his life and affected his relationship with his family. Though Desmond finds this resentment irrational, it dosen't stop him from feeling insecure and unhappy about it. Thus for this reason, in order to avoid this resentment he has removed himself from the "magic" equation.

► Desmond does have a pretty complex personality. From being happy and optimistic to insecure and pessimisstic, to withdrawn and spiteful. This is why it's hard for him to really make "close" friends.

► If Desmond was a Wizard, his wand would be: Vine Wood, Dragon Heartstring, 12.5 inches, Pliant

► If Demond was a Wizard, he would've instantly been sorted into the Ravenclaw House. If he were to be a hat stall, the Sorting Hat would've debated between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.

► As stated, Desmond has become distanced from his family, and the only times he's seen them in the past few years have been for a few hours for each holiday. He never stays very long, and normally interacts with his cousins and aunts and uncles instead of his parents and brothers.

► Desmond is fluent in French, and has been speaking the language since he was a young child. He also speaks some German and Spanish at limited conversational levels.

► He is ambidexterous, although he favors his right hand.

► His MBTI would be most similar to an: INFJ, ENFJ, and ENFP.

► When Desmond learns baout Quidditch, he's extremely envious because he's always wanted to fly and he's very fond of sports.

► If he were in a fight. His first reaction would be to run. Then his next reaction would be to throw something in the direction of his chaser. And if that's a half eaten fried chicken leg, so be it.

► Initially, Desmond was planning to become a scientist/chemist/physicist. But he ultimately wanted to go into education because he wanted to make a difference in the lives of children, and prepare them for the future. And, it's a job where you're constantly learning and meeting new people.

► Desmond is familiar with Broadcasting, Radio, and TV, and he was apart of the broadcasting club in both Highschool and College. To be honest, the only reason Desmond initially got into it was because he has a very good "broadcasting voice." However over time he came to really enjoy it. He was also apart of the Science Club.

► He is actually fond of all animals.

► When he learns about the divisions within the Magical World, he becomes gobsmacked. Especially when he learns about the still ongoing bitter rivlaries between Gryffindors and Slytherins (since he takes a lot of time to familiarize himself with the education system.)

FAMILY —

✎ PARENTS / Warren & Nicole Edevane / 53 & 52  / Muggles
Desmond loves his parents, and knows that he always will. But he isn't close to them, not after he moved out to go to college when he was 16 years old. He does carry a little resentment towards his parents, seeing as they always seemed more 'concerned' or 'doted' on his brothers instead of him. It was so apparent since Desmond was the only non-magical son, and he was the middle son too. Thus, for a lot of his childhood, Desmond was motivated to be better and to achieve more because he wanted his parent's awknowledgement. And when he did "get it" it wasn't anything in comparison to the wonder they had for his brothers' magic. In his current life, he still goes to see his parents during the Holiday, and he's trying to build a stronger relationship with them. But it's hard because they don't realize why he became distant from them in the first place.

✎ OLDER BROTHER / Shepherd Edevane / 25 / Muggle-Born Wizard
Desmond was extremely close with Shepherd when they were young. They did almost everything together, and then when Winston came along, they were literally the 3 musketeers. But then Shepherd was discovered to be a wizard, and went to Hogwarts (he was sorted into Ravenclaw). In the beginning their relationship was still fine, and Desmond was always in awe at the stories Shepherd would tell him. However, by the time Shepherd was in his 3rd year, he started to become more distant from him, and it didn't help that he was gone for majority of the year and didn't always want to hang out with his "muggle" brother.

It also didn't help once Winston was revealed to be a Wizard -- Desmond' two brothers became a closer knit duo and left him out. But what really made Desmond angry at Shepherd, was when his older brother snidely told him that "he couldn't understand" or "he couldn't hang out with them" while they were studying magic. That was disgusting in Desmond's opinion, especially since he had learned about how muggle-borns were often discriminated by "pure-bloods" though more so in the past -- so whatever Shepherd's motives for being so insensitive, Desmond didn't care anymore and from then on they decided to ignore each other.

Shepherd does work at the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, and his department was also heavily involved in dealing with the incident. He has a creative, intelligent, strict, impulsive, and stubborn personality, and is prone to being insensitive in his pursuits. He is also the kind of person who struggles being easy-going and apologizing -- for instance he feels a lot of guilt over his treatment of Desmond, which ended up (practically) estranging their relationship. He has sort and slicked back blonde hair with pale skin and dark blue eyes. He is taller and more muscular than Desmond.

He, after making the step to recruit Desmond for the Muggle Integration Program, actively tries to rebuild his relationship with Desmond because he does miss having his other brother.

✎ YOUNGER BROTHER / Winston Edevane / 22 / Muggle-Born Wizard
When they were younger, Desmond actively doted on Winston and was determined to help his brother in whatever way he could. When Shepherd had left for Hogwarts, the two of them had become closer and stuck together even more because of the loss of their 3rd musketeer. However, much to Desmond's despair, Winston began to drift away from him about he'd been accepted into Hogwarts (sorted into Hufflepuff) -- especially after Desmond had been both elated and jealous that Winston was a wizard. It is noted that Desmond has more of a resentment towards Shepherd than Winston, but regardless Desmond has a strained relationship with Winston as well.

Winston also has recently began working at the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Games and sports, and is an avid Quidditch supporter and player. He has a very sweet, stubborn, easy-swayed, and distractable personality. He usually means well, but Winston is easily overwhelmed -- for example he didn't fully realize that he was pushing Desmond away in their childhood until Desmond had moved out of their family home and afterwards rarely came back during the summers. Like Shepherd, he feels very guilty. He has medium-length dirty-blonde hair, tanned skin, and bright green eyes. He is taller and more muscular than Desmond, though less than Shepherd.

Winston, alongside Shepherd, tries to actively repair his relationship with Desmond after Desmond beomes apart of the Muggle Integration Program. He especially tries to get closer by showing that his department would be useful in understanding popular cultural trends that the wizarding world has. Though, both Winston and Shepherd are both aware that it will take a while for Desmond to trust them again.

FRIENDS —
✎ BEST FRIEND / Isaac Gray / 24 / Muggle
Desmond's best friend who he meet in the 2nd year of university. The two of them hit it off almost instantly, due to their similar personalities and interests. Thus, it was a surprise to no one that the two of them became the best of friends and almost always hung out together -- even after they graduated college. Issac is the person, who currently, Desmond considers more like a brother than his actual blood-brother, and he goes to Isaac for a lot of emotional and personal advice. The two of them support each other, and that's exactly what Desmond needs.

When he learned about the Magical world, he was completely gobsmacked. Even more so when he learned that Desmond, while also a muggle, knew about it because his brothers were also magical. It is during this conversation, however, when Isaac finally realizes/understands that main reason/catalyst as to why Desmond has such a rocky relationship with his brothers (whom he rarely talks about.) Afterwards, while Desmond is working in this Program, Isaac may encounter Desmond's brothers who want advice on how to get Desmond to forgive them.

Isaac is a works in the Entertainment Industry as an an actor and comedian, as he has been doing this since he was a young teenager. So he is quite famous and well known in the UK. He has a witty, kind, humorous, charistmatic, and sociable personality. He is a handsome young man with carefully styled chesnut brown hair, tanned skin, and grey eyes.

CLOSE FRIEND / Wendy Tunzi / 23 / Half-Blood
Desmond met Wendy as Estelle's best friend. He learned that Wendy also worked in Law Enforcement but more in Administration than "police work." The two of them get along well, bonding over their love of teasing Estelle, playful banter, and the american TV show The Big Bang Theory. The two of them have a pretty typical start to their friendship, with Wendy coming over to make sure that her best friend wasn't going into a relationship with a weirdo -- thankfully she came to accept Desmond extremely quickly and they became close mates soon enough. When Desmond learns that Wendy is a Witch (alongside Estelle) he only sighs and rubs his eyes. Figuring that he should've known.

Wendy is an attractive African Woman with short cropped black hair, dark skin, and dark brown eyes. She has a very laidback, sarcastic, intelligent, reserved, and snarky personality. She works in the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in the Improper Use of Magic Offices.

OTHERS

COLLEAGUE / Bishop Howard / 36
The chemistry teacher at the secondary school he works at, at the two of them work together often. Desmond sees Bishop as a sort of mentor-father figure, who is always happy to lend Desmond a hand when it comes to dealing with his students (though Desmond always has a great relationship with his students.)Bishop goes on to help give Desmond some of the most philisophical advice, and helping him stay on pace with the courses.

Bishop is a wiry man with short dark brown hair, glasses, olive skin, and dark brown eyes. He has a very reserved, quiet, observant, philisophical, and cheeky personality.

HER PERSONAL INFORMATION.

PERSONALITY
Estelle is someone who would rarely, if ever, pass up a good opportunity to learn something new, especially things that are abstract or sound like it would make a good adventure. Though, this information is usually dug through because she finds it fascinating, not because she has any planned purpose such as studying. This all said, once Estelle becomes focused with someone that she wants or needs to learn, it's very easy for her to go down the rabbit hole. In terms of her Hogwarts Essays, this trait often made them very unique and full of even more abstract information or analysis that was needed.

Estelle is a highly creative and innovative individual who wants to be free. She wants to be able to have the choice to do what she wants to do, and hates it when she's limited in any way -- even if it's a minor thing. In this way, she's sort of a 0 or 100 person, who does things in extremes. This can be applied to Estelle's adventurous side, to which she is always on the look out for trouble or new things to do. It dosen't help that Estelle has an innate sense of bravery and moral code that forces her to poke her nose into things. She just can't help it. At the very least, it does make her a very active person who could easily take the role of a leader (or tank in a video game) if she wanted to. It's when these traits make way, that Estelle gets playfully teased for her "gryffindorness."

In a similar manner. She has a very flexible and open mind, and is able to shift from idea to idea without any real effort. She draws on her plethora of accumulated knowledge, no matter how strange our out-there, and use it to prove her points, or others, as she sees fit. At the same time, it is important to note that Estelle has very little attachment to traditional values, and is more than happy to take apart existing systems or rules and pull them together into her own creative thing. This does mean that when Estelle is presented with problems, especially ones that are long-lasting and too systematic, then she'd be extremely excited and ready to solve them. It helps that she's an excellent brainstormer, and can analyze information logically and rationally from almost every angle to find the best solutions -- she easily rejects methods that she perceives as "faulty" without remorse and is always ready to throw out more ideas. Though, sometimes she can go too fast, if you understand what I mean.

Estelle has a very charismatic and energetic personality. She has a way with her words, with a quick-thinking wit that many other people find enticing. She has a lot of confidence in her abilities, and loves interacting and socializing with other people. This makes her a very charming, entertaining, and informative person to be around. Added with her almost cunning ambitiousness and determination to achieve her goals and garner her successes -- thriving on the idea of constant improvement -- Estelle seems like a bulldozer that cannot be stopped. That, and she can be truly impressive when she demonstrates her enthusiasm to put a lot of effort and time into doing the things that pique her interest. Her brain needs to be stimulated, which is one reason why she does so well in combat.

Where Estelle is someone who is constantly on the look out for new knowledge, adventure, and/or things that are interesting, she's argumentative -- in the name of mental exercising and the potential of delving deeper into a topic, she has no problem diving head first into one. Although, Estelle does find that people don't always appreciate the vigor she has when arguing or debating, simply because Estelle has no qualms with tearing down other people's beliefs or methods in order to prove her own. This can lead to a great deal of tension between people. She normally apologizes afterwards, but only when she realizes that she was being insensitive, because most of the time Estelle may not realize that what she's saying could be taken as mean -- especially since she dosen't really consider emotional points in arguments. At the same time, where she is argumentative, she is also quite prideful and intolerant. Especially when it comes to people who are unable to back up their ideas or withstand some mental sparring. This can cause her to unconsciously scrutinize people.

Estelle is a flexible, creative, and energetic person that allows her to find methods and ways to do things more effectively. However, this does mean that she comes up with thousands and thousands ideas at a time, and it isn't uncommon for her to change these ideas or drop them entirely after the intiial excitement fades away. In this way, Estelle is impatient, distractable, and easily bored. This results in Estelle being withdrawn and detatched when it comes to issues that aren't of immediate or interesting concern to her. If something gets her attention, you'll see her burning passison. But if it dosen't, then you'll priobably get a blank and airy stare.

Similarly, Estelle is quite private and tends to leave out personal details unless she is directly asked for them. Estelle is uncomfortable about giving out some personal information to other people, usually because she dosen't think it's necessary or interesting enough to be apart of a discussion. She isn't someone who voices out her feelings. Sure, it's easy for her to be outspoken about her opinions, but it dosen't go both ways. However, if she were with someone who has fully earned her trust, she dosen't have too many problems about talking about her feelings. It just won't be that in depth.

It is also interesting to note that despite Estelle's highly rational intelligence, she can get very scatterbrained and confsued. Because her mind is always going at about 100 miles per second, thinking about things that could be the most random of things, things can be jumbled very easily. For this reason, at random moments she can just blurt out random things that may have had importance an hour before, or an hour ahead. This is even more apparent when Estelle dosen't have a firm organization locked in place.

In light of this, most of the time Estelle is actually very laidback, confident in her own skin, and playful. It helps that Estelle has naturally cute and endearing mannerisms that always make people around her smile -- and garners her many admirers. She likes getting along with people, and making sure that everyone is comfortable. She's always open to making new friends, and never judges people at first glance. Thus, her kindness and curious nature allows Estelle to get close to others, even if they're difficult, pretty easily.

Furthermore, Estelle is a generous and selfless person who always wants to help others and does not stand for any kind of injustice -- showing natural leadership tendencies. To her, it's common sense to help people in need, and if you don't feel the same way then you may as well be a jerk. At first glance, Estelle isn't a very aggressive person, but if someone messes with the people she cares about then you will be facing a very angry lion. Which, on that note, Estelle does have a hidden temper. She does her best to keep this in check and most people don't even realize she could ever get mad since she's almost always smiling. In reality, it is very easy for Estelle to expereince irritation and annoyance at others, it just (usually) wanes quickly.

BACKGROUND
Estelle was born in Tokyo Japan to a magical couple, who moved to London, England, when she was about 2 years old. From there, she was raised in obviously magical community where her parents would often take her out to Diagon Alley for their own supplies and such. She was also able to meet a couple of other children her age who were born in magical families. It is also notable that both her parents are half blood wizards, so Estelle had the best of both worlds. Until she got her letter to Hogwarts, she did go to muggle schools. Overall, her childhood was largely uneventful besides a couple of accidental magic incidents every now and then. Her neighbors and parent's firends always liked to joke that Estelle would become a powerful Witch because her accidental magic always seemed to pack a blast.

It is important to know that Estelle's father is a healter at St. Mungos, and her mother being a popular fictional author. Both of them sort of expected Estelle to go into healing like her father, or another non-ministry-related job. Not that it was bad, but her parents would've prefered her to do something else as they aren't the most fond of politics and legislature.

When Estelle's letter for Hogwarts had come, she was so completely and utterly happy. She was practically bouncing off the walls while getting her school supplies, going onto the Hogwarts Express, and even when she was seated down to have the Sorting Hat placed on her head. And much to her surprise, Estelle had been a Hat Stall -- although she was eventually sorted in Gryffindor. Anyways, Estelle was more than determined to become the best of her class and to learn new things, and most of all to find a spell to turn her skin different colors because it'd look cool.

Though, her years through Hogwarts, while always fun, was a little bumpy at times. Of course, Estelle was able to quickly establish herself as a talented Witch, showing her instant prowess in Defense of the Dark Arts and in Transfiguration. In her first year, she had been taunted by some of her male classmates for her cutesy and "weak" appearance, and they didn't believe that she was "better than them" at defense. So, like the Gryffindor she was, Estelle did end up challenging multiple boys to duels to prove her mettle. And, much to her glee, she won each one easily. Though, after defeating them, Estelle faced another problem. A plethora of admirers and people sending her embarrassing love letters. It was quite ridiculous, and Estelle had her fair share complaining to her friends, and going through awkward moments of turning down boys.

Come to the end of her years at hogwarts, Estelle was flying through her class with great grades, and after a lengthy discussion with her Transfigurations Proffessor, Estelle finally decided that she wanted to become an auror. Her parents hadn't been the most happy about this decision at first, seeing as they didn't want their precious daughter to get hurt. However, it didn't take long for Estelle to demonstrate her DADA abilities and competence, alongside her NEWTS in order to convince her parents.

Thus, upon graduating Estelle (with recommendations) was allowed to take the test to enter the Auror Program, and was eventually allowed into the program. And it's an understatement to just say that Auror Training was hard... It was almost like hell. But regardless, Estelle was more than prepared and determined to this, especially since throughout her years at Hogwarts she learned about the heroic actions taken years ago and how dangerous the world was. She felt a need to help keep people safe and to put the evil behind bars. Thus, even when there were times that she wanted to rip her hair out and kick in a wall, after three years she had graduated from the auror training program, and became an auror at 21 years old.

Estelle was welcomed into the Department with open arms, partly due to the fact that she was one of the top trainees, but also because of her beauty. Since then, Estelle has been doing her best to show that she is capable at her job, and has been on countless field-work jobs. And overtime, made a name for herself as someone not to be messed with, especially on the battle field.

THE INITIATIVE
Estelle had been lounging on the couch in Desmond's (her boyfriend's) falt, waiting for him to come back with their snacks before starting their weekly movie marathons. However, it was at this time that Estelle had had gotten a Patronus from one of her Team Leader who stated that she must come to a certain location immediately, and that an attack had taken place.. Desmond had gone back into the room by then, and Estelle had rushed to her feet, quickly mumbling that she had to leave.

Quickly calling out her apologies to Desmond, and rushed out of the flat. And the moment she realized that she was completeyl alone, she apparated to the location her team leader had told her about. And she arrived just in time, just behind a buildling where no one would see her, and when she turned the corner she was met with chaos.

Before Estelle could even think, she pulled out her wand and blocked a spell that was about to hit a young child. Yes, she knew that she had broke the rule -- but she wasn't the first and she wasn't the last. In that instant, other withces and wizards were pulling out their wands in attempts to save and protect the defenseless citizens from these people. At some point, Estelle felt stinging and some blood running down her arm, but she forced herself to ignore it in favor of pushing away another man about to get hexed, and firing off one of her own spells.

At the end of it all, Estelle nearly collapsed down on the ground from the adrenaline and stress. From the amount of phones that were filming, and the helicopter that she spotted not to long ago, Estelle knew that this would be an end to the generations of secrecy that the Wizarding World had protected. This was going to change everything.

Thus, with a shaking breath, Estelle stood back up, and apparated to the Ministry of Magic. She realized she was quickly followed by some of her fellow Auror colleagues who were also involved in the battle -- some of which she was very close to, and had gotten badly injured. This is going to be a long night. Estelle thought to herself.

Knowing that she was directly involved in the incident, Estelle was encouraged by Wendy to join the program. Estelle was further convinced because she knew parallels and differences between the muggle and magical cultures, and was dating a muggle. That, and Estelle couldn't help but be completely pissed at this "New World Order" who disrupted the peace and could've killed thousands of innocents. Thus, with a finality in her gaze, Estelle signed up for the program.

*Estelle would be heavily involved with the legal aspects, as well as desiring to be put on the team to figure out the perpetrators of these horrible events. This "New World Order" just made an enemy of Estelle Kuhara, so they'd better be ready because she was going to pay them back for their unjust doings.

RELATIONSHIPS

✎ PARENTS / Daichi & Amaya Kuhara / 55 & 54 / Half-Bloods
Estelle is extremely close with her parents, and sees the two of them as her best friends. As Estelle is an only child, she was always doted on and given all of her parent's attention when she was young -- so yes she was raised right. Although they disagree on some things, such as initially being unsettled with Estelle's career choices, the three of them are very clearly a family. Estelle's father has a much more laidback and playful personality, whereas her mother has a more headstrong, ambitious, and active personality; so in a way Estelle is like a good mix between the two of them.

✎ BEST FRIEND / Wendy Tunzi / 23 / Half-Blood
Estelle's best friend whom she met back in Hogwarts. The two of them were the unstoppable Gryffindor duo in their year, and maintained a playful rivalry with their grades. And yes, the two of them did sometimes get into mischievous trouble, with Wendy scheming things and Estelle carrying them out with precision and ease. All things considered, the two of them are practically sisters from another mother -- their families are also very close. Even now that the two of them work in the Ministry, they almost always spend their breaks together or go out to have lunch. A common topic between them is complaining about their co-workers.

✎ COLLEAGUE / Sierra Navarrete / 25 / Half-Blood
A fellow auror who had a short-lived and one-sided rivalry with Estelle once she entered the department. This was largely because Estelle was this "new" auror who had stunning visuals and seemed to catch men's gazes no matter what she did. For this reason, Sierra was quite resentful of Estelle -- even more so when the two of them suddenly found themselves paired up for missions.

So for awhile, Sierra did act quite mean and insensitive towards Estelle. However after some time, the two of them came ot a understanding after Sierra found herself listening to Estelle rant about the attention she sometimes gets from men, and her other worries. After Sierra realized Estelle's feelings, they started a tentative truce. And over the past year, the two of them have gotten closer, becoming good friends, and work very well together.

Sierra is a chic and tall spanish woman, with long and lucious dark brown hair, tanned skin, and bright hazel eyes. She is known for having a cutthroat, cunning, strategic, easily jealous, and easily embarrassed persoanlity (sort of like a tsundere.)

✎ COLLEAGUE / Jesse Wilkanson / 24 / Half-Blood
A fellow auror (though he only became on this year and thus Estelle's junior) who Estelle dosen't have the best relationship with, especially since he's the one who constantly flirts with her no matter how many times Estelle tells him that she's already in a steady relationship. To which Jesse always wiggles his eyebrows, and asks if she could consider adding him to the pile. Yes, she was very digusted by this, and had to restrain herself from blasting a spell at him. He definetely poses a challenge for Desmond -- especially when he tries to show off and get indirectly involved in the Muggle Integration Program through the aurors.

Jesse is a tall and attractive young man (obvious that he played quidditch) with medium-length black hair, silvery grey eyes, tanned skin, with a muscular physique. He is definetely a popular one in the department -- which sort of acts as a motivation for him wanting to catch a taste of one of the most sought after women in the ministry who isn't an "old crone" (in his words.) He has a very prideful, witty, charismatic, envious, and cheeky personality. He wants what he can't have, and is willing to do whatever he can to get it. So he isn't a bad guy, he's just a really annoying one who knows how the push the boundaries.

TRIVIA
► Estelle's sorting lasted about 3-4 minutes, as the Sorting Hat debated between Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. She was ultimately sorted into Gryffindor, though she didn't particular mind where she went.

► Estelle's pet is a Male Barn Owl named Soren -- in remembrance of the Owls of Ga'Hoole series that she was fond of in her childhood.

► Estelle's Wand: Maple Wood, Phoenix Feather Core, 11 inches, and Brittle.

► Estelle chose to become an Auror due to her unyielding sense of justice, curiosity, and her battling prowess. She was, after all, known as one of the best Duellers while she was in Hogwarts.

► Despite her cute appearance, Estelle is actually quite muscular and strong. She does also do daily fitness training to stay in shape.

► If there is some large explosion that happens in the auror training rooms, it's probably Estelle. It's almost comedical when people who aren't used to the explosions hear them, an wonder if the sky is falling or something. But no, everyone in the department is used to it -- she goes to do coffee runs for her colleagues sometimes as apology for her explosions some times.

► By far her best subjects at Hogwarts was Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration, to which she recieved O's in (alongside Charms and Potions.)

► Estelle trained is a black belt in Karate, and trained since she was a young child, and continued her training throughout her Hogwarts Years during the summers.

► She became the Gryffindor Prefect in her 5th year. She managed to become Head Girl in her 7th year, alongside her Ravenclaw Colleague as Head Boy.

► As she is a pragmatic person, Estelle isn’t exactly romantic; she doesn’t expect sunshine and rainbows. She expects a realistic relationship where you can get mad and angry at each other but can move past that — always growing.

► Estelle is, of course, a competitive person who always strives for victory -- but will always accept a loss in front of a formidable opponent. Similarlly, in light of her adventurous side, she can be impulsive, reckless, and brash because of her strong willed drive.

► She's the sort of upstanding heroic type who butts her head into everything despite her good intentions. And while she is talented, this does get her into trouble.

► Her MBTI would be most simlar to an ENTP, INTP, or ENTJ.

► Estelle is a Registered Animagus. Her animal form is a Siberian Tiger -- much to her surprise and minor disappointment because Tiger's aren't exactly the best when it comes to low-profile jobs, it's still cool though. She normally only uses it for intimdation, last resort fighting, or to cuddle because her fur is soft.

► Similarly, Estelle's patronus is also a Siberian Tiger.

► She lives in a spacious flat with her best friend, Wendy, not too far from the Ministry of Magic.

► She is fluent in both English and Japanese.

► Estelle is right handed.

— LOVE STORY.

RELATIONSHIP — Currently, they have been dating for 1 year.

THE STORY

Meeting: The two of them met in a very normal way. Desmond had been sitting in a relaxing cafe with Isaac (in disguise), and was listening to his best friend complain about his newest co-star while he flipped through his novel. Mid way through Isaac's complaints, Desmond lifted his head and found himself staring at a beautiful asian woman with flowing black hair and large curious eyes. Whether or not it was love at first sight is debatable, but Desmond couldn't take his eyes off her as she laughed.

Estelle had just gotten a break for work, and she was being pulled around by Wendy to this new cafe "that they had to try." And when she was walking in, standing behind Wendy and getting ready to order herself a drink, Estelle caught eyes with a handome blonde man sitting at a table near one of the windows. To say the least, the two of them kept eye contact, before Desmond tentatively smiled at her. She smiled back.

This encounter quickly ended as Estelle got her drink to go, and was soon enough led outside of the cafe for a walk by Wendy. The moment the girls had left, Wendy had wiggled her eyes playfully at Estelle, hinting at the "cute blonde" who couldn't keep his eyes off of her. Estelle had merely blushed, and batted her friend away -- halfheartedly dismissing the idea because she was sure he was a muggle. The two then continued their day. On the other hand, Desmond had watched Estelle leave until she was outside of the cafe, before turning back to his book. Only to find Isaac smiling at him with a wink. Desmond, blushing, refused to respond and the two of them continued their lunch.

What happened afterwards is a little more funny. Wendy had ended up going to the cafe again by herself, only to encounter Isaac. The two of them instantly remembered each other from that one day -- and before long were planning ways to get their friends to meet each other again because there was clearly a connection in the making. That, and it was obvious both Wendy and Isaac were bored and felt that it would be fun to interfere with their best friend's love lives.

Thus cam a complicated scheme for them to meet, that I will not detail but usually involved failed encounters. In the end, Estelle and Desmond met each other "formerly" was in the park. Desmond had taken a seat at one of the benches, letting out a tired breath after shaking off Isaac for the day. Then, to his surprise, a voice asked "Can I sit with you?" And when he turned his head, Estelle was standing some feet away with him with a sheepish smile. The two of them bonded by looking out into the park, and laughing about their friends schemes (that were actually very obvious.) And in the end, the two of them exchanged numbers. Isaac and Wendy were quite devastated but not surprised that Desmond and Estelle worked it all out on their own. The four of them had lunch the next day,

The Start of Romance: At this point, the two of them had become very close friends over the course of a year. Every now and then they would meet up, usually with Isaac and Wendy in tow, or they would bump into each other while walking throughout the streets of London. And while it had only been a year, there was obviously a compatibility there, as the two of them could banter and talk easily and playfully with each other and hang out without any cares in the world. They were clearly attracted to each other. And it was fun being together.

Estelle, however, had a couple of small doubts every now and then. Especially since she knew that Desmond was a muggle, and she didn't entirely know how he could react to her profession and world. It was just an insecurity, because there was a reason why magic has been kept a secret from muggles. Desmond, however, was simply struggling to get his romantic feelings together since he's still quite the awkward individual -- especially since he has no experience in romance at all.

In the end, it was Estelle who asked Desmond (shyly) if they could go on an official "date" together without Isaac or Wendy tagging along. It is noted that she got some encouragement from Wendy, who told her to go with it and that the magic problem would solve itself if the two of them decided to get more serious with their relationship. Desmond, elated by this, shly agreed. Fun fact, Isaac and Wendy like to tease the couple because Estelle was the one who got the courage to ask first, not that anyone wasn't expecting that to be the case. Estelle is a Gryffindor after all.

Thus, they began dating, and for the past year, the two have been having a very steady and happy relationship. Since their relationship has slowly became more serious, Estelle has been trying to figure out the right moment to slowly tell Desmond about her magic and her job, since she has to be so vague about it.

The Muggle Integration Program: Present time. This is a complete bump in the road, because Estelle is suddenly more busy, magic is now known to the muggle world, and things are definetely changing for the better or for the worst. It also dosen't help that this is a slow triggering event of Desmond re-encountering his childhood fears and resentments.

In any case, without the other's knowledge, the two of them apply to become apart of the Muggle Integration Program. Estelle, after the first meeting and getting some information, intended to go to Desmond to explain that she was a Witch, and that she was going to be involved in such a program. And who would've guessed that when Estelle walked into the conference room to meet the others in the progam, that she saw her boyfriend sitting here. It was not the way that Estelle wanted Desmond to learn that she was a Witch.

In any case, Desmond does feel a little bit unsettled that Estelle was a witch this whole time and he never had a suspicious, but he dosen't hold that against her. Rather, what happens is that Desmond explains how he's known about the magical world for a long time because his brothers are also wizards. This causes immense relief for Estelle -- that is until Estelle remembers why when she first met Desmond that his surname sounded so familar. And then, she quickly pointed out that she knew two Edevane's who worked at the ministry, though she didn't interact with them. Which... Estelle is surprsied to see the reluctant face that Desmond wears as he explains that while he's invovled in this program that he wants absolutely nothing to do with his siblings besides the bare minimum that's required.

The After: Author's creativity remains free here!

► While the two of them are an established couple, I do see quite a lot of bumps or drama as the story goes on. Especially with the stress of work, the program, Desmond realizing that Estelle is an auror and wants to go headfirst into battle, and Estelle realizing the hidden stubbornness of Desmond while she tries to help him rebuild his familial ties.

► I do see a happy ending for them~ Despite all the fluff and angst~~~

— DESMOND'S INTERVIEW.

"SO TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF"
— "Um, my name is Desmond Edevane. I'm 23 years old. I work as a secondary school maths and science teacher, and have done so for almost 3 years now." Desmond pauses with an uncomfortable look, "I am a... uh, Muggle, but even before the incident I knew about magic."

"HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS POSITION?"
Desmond shifts in his seat uncomfortably, "My brother actually, Shepherd Edevane. He told me that he works at the Ministry of Magic. He thought I'd be a good addition to the program, so here I am."

"WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR BIGGEST WEAKNESS?"
— "I..." he contemplates for a couple of seconds, "I haven't been around magic in a long time. So it may take take me awhile to get use to it all. Umm..." Desmond suddenly smiles, "I can also be loud sometimes, but I hope that isn't too much of a problem."

"WHY DO YOU THINK YOU SHOULD GET THIS JOB?"
His gaze seems to be confident for the first time during the interview, "Well, to be honest I do think that my expertise and knowledge will be useful. I'm a teacher, so I know how to make things easy to understand for other people, which will, I hope, make the integration easier. I know things that can be fixed, and I can find areas that can be polished or should be taken out. I also have knowledge about both worlds... because of my Wizard Brothers... So the methods I use can be more tailor made and helpful for what we need. It is my goal to help people by doing this, especially the youth." he chuckles, "And it's always helpful to have the muggle perspective, especially from someone who can't do magic at all."

"WHAT DO YOU HOPE THIS INITIATIVE WILL ACCOMPLISH?"
— "Peace and balance." Desmond states matter of factly, "I know that magic has been a secret for so long, and this is a historical method that could change the world as we know it. So if I can be apart of helping us all live together as one, instead of being seperated and afraid of each other... Maybe finally put an end to any kind of discrimination, that'd be amazing."

— ESTELLE'S INTERVIEW.

"SO TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF"
— "Hello! My name is Estelle Kuhara, and I'm 23 years old. I graduated from Hogwarts, and have been employed as an Auror for the past 2 years. It's a pleasure to meet you!"

"HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS POSITION?"
Estelle wears a determined expression, "Since the incident, I have been invovled in trying to contain the incident with the rest of the Auror Department, so I learned about it when it was announced to the Ministry employees."

"WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR BIGGEST WEAKNESS?"
— "If I had to choose, I would say that I can be impulsively brave sometimes." Estelle grins sheepishly, "But that goes hand in hand with being a Gryffindor, don't you think? Though, I think this can be both a weakness and a strength. Because, especially in cases like this, we need some impulsive bravery to we can take chances and get things done. Of course, I know how to reign it in!"

"WHY DO YOU THINK YOU SHOULD GET THIS JOB?"
— "Because I am determined and driven. I want to help, and I want to make a difference. I know that I have the qualifications to help in deciding and creating new and old laws that will be implemented. I can come at this with the law enforcement perspective with what we already have, and show how things can get realistically accomplished and enforced if needed. Furthermore, I think that this will be a good opprotunity for me to further my knowledge and personal improvements by helping out!" she smiles optimistically.

"WHAT DO YOU HOPE THIS INITIATIVE WILL ACCOMPLISH?"
— "I hope that through this initiative, that we can invoke change. A change that, while it may seem scary, it's something that will make all of our lives better. It'll be a change that will finally allow us all to live together, hopefully, in harmony. We may all be different, but we're all still the same. It is my desire that this initiative can give hope to the people who have lost their own."

— ANYTHING ELSE?

FAMOUS LAST WORDS — This is kind of like two apps mixed together, with one being slightly bigger than the other haha! Orignally I didn't intend to write so much for Estelle, but in the end I couldn't help myself since I wanted to give you more to work with! Gah, I hope you don't mind! Also, let me know if you want any face claims for the characters listed in the relationship sections. Finally, I hope everything makes sense cause I wrote things out of order, so hopefully there isn't too many mistakes :')

(And let's be honest, one reason why Estelle wanted to become an auror was to pretend she was like Batman or Sherlock Holmes and chase criminals around while doing parkour.)

(And yes Desmond is lowkey like Petunia Dursley but less extreme.)

SCENE SUGGESTIONS
► Because of the Program, Desmond appears more at the Ministry, and during these times Shepherd and Winston continuously try and talk to him. But each time Desmond finds almost "magical" ways to evade them. This can be both comedic and angsty because this is really just Desmond avoiding his problems and being conflicted with himself because he knows he's being irrational and ridiculous. (we just need family angst)

► Estelle, in the heat of the moment to protect soem of the other characters from perhaps an "evil" wizard or from an "evil" muggle, turns into her animagus to scare them away. That or bite them.

► Desmond once again remembering his awe for magic, and acting like a little kid while asking the other magical characters to show him cool spells.

► Desmond introducing the other characters to his students at his school. Maybe Desmond is able to organize a sort of meeting/presentation at his school as a step for the initiative to become more widely known/accepted.

► tbh

PASSWORD — Does Desmond become a driving force in the Initative? Yes. Does Estelle jump straight into the battle field once she sees members of the "New World Order" again to beat their butts like the Gryffindor she is? Yes.
