BACKGROUND
born in seoul, raised by her parents along with two older brothers. her dad is a police sergeant with her mom owns a bakery which can explains her love for pastries and baking. grew up ordinary, learned the piano since young. she then went to a few singing and dancing contests for fun but wanted to be an actress and own her mother's bakery one day. her older brother is 8 years older than her and is already working as a software engineer by the time she was in high school.
went for an exchange program to russia for her middle school years and came back to complete her high school year in seoul. she also tried modelling under marishe while being in high school alongside yves of loona and enjoyed the simplicity of the modelling style as well as cute clothes that she would get sometimes.
a month after she finished her college entrance exams, she was scouted on the streets where a staff asked if she wanted to be an idol, she never thought of an idol life but was always intrigued by it. the staff gave her his card which led her to cygnus ent to audition. she sang to michael buble's l.o.v.e while playing the piano and danced mediocrely to mr.chu by a-pink, she still managed to join cygnus ent as a trainee. in february 2017, annika safely graduated under kent foreign school.

❇they weren't close at first. it was mostly annika admiring danbi from afar cause she just really love how sharp her moves and when she moves just with the right amount of emphasizement towards the steps. that was enough to actually walk to danbi and asked her to teach her how to dance like danbi. this caught the older girl by surprise because annika's eyes was literally sparkling when she asked which danbi agreed. sure, she seems firm & pushy towards her at first but that just fueled annika even more to dance well. it was mainly thanks to her that her dancing improved rapidly and made her like boy group dances more.
after helping her continuously, danbi warms up to annika for her cheerful self somehow melt her icy heart. annika's aegyo is one of the rare things that could make danbi smile which is just too rare to showcase. annika is kind of like danbi's "baby" when they debut as danbi would always take care and watch over her on shows and in the dorms because of how much danbi has helped annika as trainees.

TRAINEE LIFE
❇ as she was street casted by the company rep, she clearly has no idea how a trainee goes through the training and what not. annika was lost at first, trying to keep up with the steps and not getting it right was frustrating even though she do enjoy dancing to the beats and rhythm.
annika mostly followed and asked the other trainees that are definitely better than her to teach her on how to ace the dance steps, breathing techniques and so on.thankfully the other trainees gladly helped her with those, often staying up at nights to guide her through. she is more than grateful to everyone that lended her a hand as she then improved greatly which impressed the coaches and also the ceo.
she never planned to be an idol but boy do she love the thrill of performing on stage.
