the very surprise came during orientation when she was selected as a pageant candidate to represent her orientation group. that caused her to shed off her glasses and get into exercising to prepare for pageant. who knew she had to also prepare a y dance item with her partner for promotional purposes in stilettos. 18-year-old yi jeong then was not y and definitely not a heels person at all. nonetheless, she also managed to make an awesome friend (jinah) who stuck by her throughout the past years. she remained pretty close to the other pageant kids, after all they were stuck together in training for close to three months.

lifestyle
yi jeong is very disciplined. she gets up at 8 a.m. every morning without fail, no matter what time she slept the previous night (perhaps it is already ingrained in her body clock). after which, she will head go grab breakfast from the kitchen. she has stopped living in hall after junior year and managed to find a relatively priced studio apartment near the school.
she currently only has two modules to take in school, along with her final year project. so she barely needs to be on campus except for tuesdays and wednesdays. however, she still heads down to her favourite cafe near the arts building to get some work done. every fridays, she will be in school in the evenings for the weekly invest soc equity research meetings. saturday mornings at 10 a.m., she will head down to school as well to give internal sharing sessions to the invest members on the weekly equity research findings. the other divisions will be doing their sharings as well.
as she is considered a micro-influencer, she will get endorsements from certain beauty or fashion brands. whenever she receives the products, she will brainstorm for ideas to present them to her viewers in the format of pictures. thereafter, she would schedule with her photographer, yongbin to take the needed photos. sometimes jinah or hyejoo would help her think of captions.

they met in orientation camp, as group mates. when yi jeong first laid eyes on him, she swore he was the most good-looking boy she ever saw in her entire 18 years of life. she slowly started to develop an infatuation for the said boy. however, she usually hung out with hyejoo and some of the other girls, keeping a safe distance between herself and minjun, out of shyness. people thought that yi jeong just hung out better with girls than boys since she is usually seen talking to the girls in her group instead of guys, so her secret is safe with her.
then, both of them were selected to represent their orientation group to participate in pageant. yi jeong has no idea how she was chosen for pageant since she was certain that she wasn't the prettiest or the most talkative girl in the group. as for minjun, it isn't surprising that he was picked. the inner girl within her was secretly elated to be paired with such a handsome boy with cute dimples. it didn't help when their og mates started shipping them together cause of their adorable 20 cm height difference, making yi jeong's heart thump.

in order to get to know each other better and faster, minjun came up with a "two truths one lie" game, where each day they will get to guess the lie of the other person. through the little ice breaker, yi jeong got to know that minjun is a morning person, he likes his coffee with two teaspoons of sugar, his favourite sport is basketball but he is good at tennis too and he can't lie (his ears will turn red when he lies). he also dislikes when girls throw themselves to him and initiates skinship with him.
fast forward to pageant practice days, they were given a "new york love story" theme. for their promotion video, their seniors suggested them to perform a short dance item. yi jeong wanted to kill herself so badly cause she didn't think she could dance. what's worse was that the choreography was steamy, the clothes were going to be revealing (for her at least) and there's gonna be loads of eye contact and skinship. despite discovering her and his dance talent through this challenge, yi jeong swore, every practice she tried her hardest to not lose her balance when his hand drapes around her waist, to not melt when he was staring at her with his hooded eyes and to not be obvious that she's crushing on him. during the video filming, her jaw literally dropped when he came in a white shirt and black jeans, looking sinful as hell. she was thankful for her then short bob that covered her red ears. filming started and at the end of the dance, her height (even when the heel boost) allowed her to comfortably hide her face into the crook of his neck, but who knew that minjun was tilt his head down to look at her. his breath literally turned her legs into jelly and she willed herself not to stumble. and finally the video was published to the whole school. everyone was saying it looked as if minjun liked her a lot while she was being indifferent. that's when she knew her efforts in concealment had paid off.

finally, yi jeong ended in the same finance 101 class in year 2 sem 1. and for some reason, minjun chose to sit next to her, claiming that in the class he knows her the best. yi jeong was skeptical but she never complained. finance 101 was a dull subject but it soon became yi jeong's favourite subject just because minjun was in her class. even though they weren't split into the same group for project, she was still thankful that she was able to share a seminar with her crush. since minjun is forever sleeping in the afternoon class (he says the class timing clashed with his afternoon nap), yi jeong will always sent her notes to minjun and update him of important deadlines. the other classes she shared with minjun were all lectures and she will be with her friends and minjun has his friends to stick with. when choosing their major, yi jeong chose finance in a heartbeat after knowing that minjun is probably going to major in finance too. however, her reason for choosing finance when asked is always "i'm not interested in management. data analytics is too complicated for me and while i enjoy marketing, i can't picture myself coming out with creative strategies every day so finance is the last option." she ended up joining the investment society equity research division so as to be in the same club as minjun (minjun is in the fixed income division).
currently (last spring semester), both of them are in the same final year project group, doing a finance consulting practicum for hanA bank. yi jeong was shocked when minjun asked if he could join the three man team (hyejoo, jinah and herself), saying that his group of friends wanted to delay graduation but he still wants to graduate on time. the other two girls welcomed him with open arms happily.
