Background: though huisoo doesn't remember a lot from young nasan, he does remember the faint oily smells and clattering of pots and pans. the main thing he remembers is always hanging with his siblings, insoo nagging at him to do his homework and the younger ones crying and whatever. it wasn't like he minded; he was never lonely and though his parents weren't around often, he was happy.
but for some reason the siblings kept coming??? huisoo was ~12-14 when his last sibling was born and he didn't even get to see them all that much before going off to college, having insisted in living on campus for the first year. but given he went to college in seoul (he majored in physics with a minor in creative writing), he visited pretty much every weekend and it wasn't like he missed many major events.
after he went to grad school (in incheon), though, was when things started going downhill in the sibling department. the younger ones know and recognize and like him as their brother, but in the end, considering the youngest was only like, 10-ish when he moved away, if they don't see him everyday they're not going to be as close to him. and that's not including how the older younger ones were in their middle school/high school emo phases and kept making trouble. he tried his best, but alas, a few of the siblings ended up not as close to him as he would have liked.
after grad school, he came back to seoul university for postdoc, living at home again. it's... chaotic??? he'd gotten used to living alone and it was sort of not fun when random siblings kept bursting into his room to ask him random things ('buy me ice cream hyung' 'oppa can we go to the park' 'hey what do you think of this new thing') when all he wanted to do was write his goddamn research proposal. but alas. they are his family after all.

Lifestyle: he's not doing much except research mostly stuff with soft condensed matter, aka gels/fluids), but since he'll be an assistant professor next school year, he's preparing to teach his very first class uwu on intro to physics. he works a lot, and his boss (i like to think maybe leeteuk? lol) always tells him to take a break, so now he's taking a break by going to nasan. a forced break, but shhhhhh. though he's not necessarily pumped about going back to nasan (esp to work on the restaurant), huisoo is a romantic at heart and barely remembers anything about his old childhood home, so he's actually sort of excited to go back. regardless of how excited or not excited he is to help out, though, he's not going to complain about it like some of the other kids might (he's a grownass adult and know how to behave himself lol).

Appearance: there isn't much to say for this except that he's the exact same as chwang. as in, 186cm, 61kg. he is hot :")) washboard ads and thin as a stick though not unhealthily and likes to wear his hair in one of two ways, either gelled back or down as in the pictures in this app. he has his ears pierced but rarely wears anything in them. when he laughs or smiles very happily (that is to say, genuinely), his eyes will become mismatched uwu. he also looks young enough to pass off as distinctively not-30-some, but his aura is intimidating/mature enough so that ppl realize he's not a grad student anymore lol

having been p much raised by insoo (and that is quite significant), huisoo is fairly close with his only hyung. their personalities mesh well, and huisoo isn't the type to purposely try to piss him off or anything. they sort of raised the family together, with huisoo taking on sort of the role of mom. that being said, they still are siblings, and they do still fight, but as per siblings, no one really apologizes and they just sort of, know that they've been forgiven.

they were roommates freshman year of college and hit it off like that. stayed roommates and then in contact after they each went off to grad school. they text liberally and know p much everything about each other's lives. kyu's sort of obnoxious in that he's not afraid to call anyone out on their bull, but he also has enough grace to say it in a nice way when it's with his friends.
