KOR　adv conver, began learning when coming to sm. originally was basic at the language, but ai is a studier and studied really hard. nowadays her problems seem to just be grammar and mixing up familiar words. she still sometimes uses chinese honorifics or chinese terms, but will sometimes correct herself and use korean ones.

the first thing you noticed about ai is that she's tall, lean, and boyish. nine times out of ten, people mistake her for a male. her flat chest also helps along alluding people to her tomboy looks.

despite her boyish image, ai does have some femininity under her baggy clothing. she hides wide hips and all around softness if you can look passed her boyish appearance. most of her muscles on her body are in her legs from soccer, but that's it. she can't gain muscle anywhere else on her body really.

she currently has multiple piercings along her ears (left: double helix, single & right: triple), but she has no tattoos.

STYLE

her fashion sense is pretty self-explanatory. she is a tomboy. her closet is full of men's or boyish girl clothes. it's what fits her body the best. she avoids dresses and anything too girly like the plague, but will wear feminine outfits from time to time and when it's needed for gjsn promotions.

the first thing you notice about ai is that the boyish female is quite intelligent. through years of intensive studies, it'd be rather ironic that she wouldn't be smart. she's quick on the uptake and clever, easily learning things that would take others awhile. along with her intelligence, ai is very perceptive and observant. she's quick to notice things when they happen. it's like she has eyes in the back of her head, being able to know someone is behind her even when they are trying to sneak up. underneath her calculating gaze, ai is passionate deep down. she gets highly motivated and is very goal-oriented, especially with the things she is passionate over (rapping, etc). and despite her quietness, her passion can be said to be one of the things that she's very vocal about. whenever ai's given a specific task, she becomes dedicated to the project. whether it's coming up with a new rap or simply doing the dishes, nothing will stop her until she gets done with the job.

due to years of isolation from studying, ai has became a rather quiet and reserved individual. she keeps mostly to herself and will hardly announce herself when she enters a room. and despite the fact that she rebeled from her parents eventually, ai is an obedient person by nature. she actually hates confrontations and thinks that just going along with what is said is the better course of action. which is to say, isn't good all the time. and despite ai not being that entirely young, she has a overactive imagination which is probably due to not being around others when she was younger. her little quirky stories that involve her imagination are sure to keep the other girls from getting too sad and lonely, cheering them up when they are down. though, sometimes her imagination can be her downfall, especially during serious matters.

ai may seem like a passionate genius, but deep down, she is very insecure. living with parents that always expected the best out of her and always pointed out her flaws no matter what, she finds herself second guessing everything she does despite doing everything right. it has weighed her down a lot and usually gets her overthinking everything. and because of her overthinking, ai becomes quite a stubborn perfectionist. if one little thing is misplaced or wrong, she will do whatever it takes to put it back in it's place or fix it. ai's strong passionate emotions can be her downfall as she's quite sensitive. the littlest jokes can send her down a downward spiral into depression, especially if the jokes are towards her too quiet nature or her insecurities. and because of that and combined with her quiet nature, others may see her as a timid person. her insecurity masking her confidence and causing others to walk over her when she should shine.

BACKGROUND

you wouldn't think of it at first glance, but ai grew up with a silver spoon. though because of it, she hardly ever saw her parents. her childhood consisted of nannies taking care of her day after day and only fleeting moments with her parents. thankfully though, ai was never the one to be outrageous. yes, she was upset she barely saw her parents, but that didn't mean she had to make a fool out of herself to get their attention. so instead, she became a quiet child, doing whatever they wanted in hopes her parents would give her the time of day.

doing so, ai threw herself into private homschooling. it was one thing she knew about her parents and that their stictness when it came to her schooling. they wanted her to have the best so they gave her the best tutors they could fine. though ai looked up to all her tutors and, essentially, she flourished under their teachings.

it wasn't until the age of ten when ai decided she wasn't going to wear the dresses her mom always insisted the maids to put her in. ai always hated the dresses, the way they itched her skin...they way it made her mind swirl. it wasn't like her mom would see her wearing them since she was barely home anyways. so she ignored them to wear pants instead. and it wasn't like they could stop her since they were never home. she wore her pants, polos...her nannies could see happiness bubbling inside the otherwise quiet ai and they just let her be.

at age fifteen, ai witnessed something magical (or at least, in her eyes). one of her nannies thought it would be nice to take her to a performance by a new group (cause that's what fifteen year olds liked, right? right?). it was exo-m's debut performance in china. ai was amazed by the six boys that she instantly wanted to be them. she wanted to be on the stage and perform with them.

to keep her new dream a secret from her parents, she got her nanny to take her to dance lessons with the promise that she keeps up with her schooling. she was a good student at the lessons. along with her dancing, ai enjoyed rapping and singing in her free time. the dancing even helped her with to keep in time and helped her with the control of her breath as she rapped and sang.

in one of the scarcely few times of actually spending time with her parents, they took her along on a business trip to south korea when she was seventeen. having her own agenda, ai went to an sm audition without her parents consent. she was promising with her androgynous looks, so she was accepted.

whether they were angry with her disobedience and amongst other things, they didn't say much to ai as they agreed to let sm take her. in ai's mind, she thinks they only let her go through with it because she may make them money in future.

well, whatever it is, they won't say and ai is determined to not let them ruin this opportunity.

TRAINING　2014 - present

after getting accepted (with the surprise of her parents' consent), ai was ed into the korean training system of sm entertainmen. ai was a diamond in the rough, one filled with talents that just needed some polishing to make it all come together.

so ai was then pushed into heavy studying, which ai was accustomed to, but now she had two new languages to learn and actual training on top of that. it was...rough, but ai felt like she could do it! she was dediciated!

after a year of training and rising up in ranks, ai was passed over being an smrookie. why? it's obvious why...there were a million reasons why in ai's mind, but the one that stuck out to her in her mind was her obvious tomboy looks.

but it wasn't like sm didn't have tomboys...there was amber from f(x). they could always promote her like her?

also, ai may be a tomboy, but she can always blend in easier with the other girls. it was like a hidden talent of hers.

though ai soon knew the reason for her being passed over for smrookies.

then, the foregin girl was ed into even more training. soon, she too was wearing the familiar yellow uniform just like the others, joining an actual school for the first time.

others definitely would crumble from the hardships, but ai continued to drive on, dedicated to finally reach her dream of performing!

►　anurak srisuwan & yang feng aka father and mother dearest　ai's 'lovely' parents that never gave their daughter the time of day. they are both business workers (owning their own businesses) and are usually not home. trufully, they wanted a son to be an heir to either company and were upset that they ended up with a daughter instead. not much is really known about both of them since ai has only seen them in fleeting moments. both are very serious attitude about everything and barely joke around, usually called heartless by the many nannies ai had over the years.

 

►　xin maelin aka the main nanny　maeli was the nanny that took aibao to exo m's debut showcase in hopes ai could socialize with girls her age. ai considers maeli as more of a mother than her real one due to maeli being in ai's life more than her actual mother. maeli seems like a strict kind of woman, but has the absolute softest spot for ai as she considers ai as her own child. she couldn't come to korea with ai, but she's always calling her to make sure she's doing okay and if she's eating correctly or getting enough sleep, etc. she truly cares for ai a lot and she honestly would fly straight to korea if something was not right.

►　nct aka brothers　due to training in sm during the 'creation' of nct (or training with some members beforehand they debuted), ai actually got close to a few members of nct and even trained with a few of them (due to sm training her more with males before being put into sljk-g program). she's honestly extremely happy to see them again, but she's the most excited for one member in particular...

  

kun, winwin, lucas　ai feels comfortable with these three members. most of it is because they are chinese, but she feels more of a connection with them (moreso with kun & winwin than lucas). kun & winwin are pretty quiet and ai enjoys that there was nct members that are quiet like her. as for lucas, he's more a big brother and doesn't care for her boyish appearance (though he does treat her more like a boy as he sometimes forgets that she is a girl). most of the members had tried to seperate lucas from ai because they were afraid that he would corrupt precious ai, but he's actually pretty chill with ai. lucas was the first to find out about the crushes jungwoo and ai have for each other and he pretty much ships it.

  

johnny, jaehyun, mark　the english speakers of nct. ai went  to them in hopes her english could improve, but most of the time it's just jaehyun and mark helping her as they tried to stop johnny from trying to corrupt her too. jaehyun and mark were like big brothers as well with johnny being that crazy uncle. in all honesty, they are the reason her english is at the level it is.

►　gjsn aka sisters　ai has trained with these girls for a while, a long while...but ai wouldn't trade them for the world. each member is a different personality that meshes well all together. each girl (mostly) respects ai and her clothing choices, complimenting on her manly looks, but still understanding that she is a girl as well. they are all the best people ai could wish for as groupmates.

 

yoo youngmi　it's safe to say that ai quickly attached herself to youngmi's side. youngmi's naturally caring personality and motherly persona, ai was smitten and enjoyed being cared for under her. she gives her mad props for training for so long and deems to want to be just as good as her, usually coming to her with vocal problems. she aslo goes to youngmi whenever she has questions with korean, knowing the other would help her.

 

marelaine li　despite ai being older than marelain, ai considers her like an older sister. another one of the few people who saw past her tomyboy image and respects that she's indeed a girl, it's safe to say ai latched onto marelaine easily. she looks up to her a lot, especially with her crazy charisma.

"What inspires me?" Ai takes a few seconds before smiling big. "EXO! They are the reason for why I want to perform. I witnessed EXO-M debut stage back in China and it made me realize...I want to perform on stage too."

JUNGUWU　what jungwoo is in ai's phone. it's a inside joke between them, with jungwoo be a big fat uwu so yeah.

WOOJUNG　another inside joke between the two. when ai was still having issues reading korean, she mixed up jungwoo's hangul and called him woojung instead and now it's stuck. it's her personal nickname for jungwoo.

LOVE STORY

when ai first came to sm entertainment, she was socially inept. she kept to herself because that was all she had known. it also didn't help that most of the girl trainees would give her weird looks due to the way she dressed. and despite being a favorite among some instructors, ai wasn't included in smrookies.

so how did she meet jungwoo?

it was when he first became in sm trainee and before ai was put into the sljk-g program. ai was still getting used to the cuter and girlier trainees. she felt different, like she didn't belong. she hid in the dance rooms a lot to just get away from them and to be alone. that's when jungwoo came in.

he walked into the practice room when he heard crying and he was surprised to see a tomboy in the room. he had heard about her when he became a trainee. he wondered why such a young girl was crying in a practice room alone. so he carefully approached her with a open hand and asked her just that.

it was the first time someone had fully recognized her as a girl without her having to correct them. she felt her heart beat rapidly for the first time, something that had only happened when she saw exo m for the first time.

so ai poured her heart out to jungwoo, told him all about her insecurities. and what did jungwoo do? comforted her. gave her the encouragement she needed.

afterwards, they talked about random things. things to keep her mind off of. jungwoo made her laugh and smile. she didn't feel different anymore.

at the end of their meeting, jungwoo reached out his pinky. they made a pinky promise that night that they would become the best of friends and if ai needed someone to talk to, he would be there for her.

and they both kept that promise, even now. whenever they have the time (which isn't a lot), they hung out and reassured each other's worries. it was the best friendship ai could ever ask for since coming to korea.
