BACKGROUND

Oliver was the third Wang to be born in Hong Kong. Jackson, his older brother was just three years old when Oliver came into the world. Him and his gege were thick as thieves, Oliver looked up to him. Whatever Jackson gege did, Oliver wanted to do it as well. Jackson started doing fencing at the age of ten (Oliver aged 7) Of course, little Oliver wanted to fence too, if gege was doing it then Oliver must do it as well, soon Oliver grew out of it after their mother started putting him gymnastic classes and he found that flipping and twirling around was more exciting and interesting to him.

 

Soon, Jackson presented at the age of 14 as an Alpha, his parents were super happy, since in their blood lines there hasn’t been an omega for generations practically breeded out (his father being an Alpha and his mother a beta) so having two alphas and two betas in the family the Wangs were able to live in society (his and Jackson’s older brother is a beta) Oliver had two to three years to hope for a alpha or beta presentation. His family was kind of old school with the whole omegas being weak and needing others to care for them. Omegas aren't valued members of society and should be treated as nothing but an alpha plaything. Oliver never agreed with his parents views on omegas, neither did Jackson. But both boys kept their opinions to themselves. 

 

Jackson soon got into kpop music,, 2pm to be exact and vowed to become a kpop star like them. His parents were okay with it of course he’s an alpha but they disliked that he was gonna be so far away. 

 

Oliver by this time (aged 13, Jackson was aged 16 at the time) had already had an interest. He enjoyed super junior and SHINee. He had joined his school’s choir to strengthen his already impressive vocal skills. Him and Jackson had a pretty decent dance crew called Team Wang so his dance skills were supar as well. All that was left was to audition for SM where he wished to debut under. But he was told no, he needed to present first, he was much too young. Oliver had about a year left before he presented. So, he agreed with his parents to wait and helped Jackson film his audition video for one of JYP’s online auditions. Obviously, Jackson got in and a year later moved to South Korea to start his training. A few months after Jackson's departure marked the end of Oliver’s life. 

 

He presented as omega.

 

His parents were livid and were questioning if he just had a heat because he was a beta and they waited for a week which for someone who present as a beta would’ve had either a rut or a heat first then a week later which ever they had first they’d have other one marking them as a Beta. 

 

After a week, Oliver still hasn't had a rut to signal he was a beta and that's why his parents flipped their . Oliver was taken to every doctor to figure out why he presented as an omega and not as the most wanted status of alpha or beta. 

 

The doctors all said the same thing, there was nothing wrong with Oliver, he’s just present as omega, it’s what the natural selection had chosen for him. After hearing there was nothing wrong and he couldn’t be changed without doing permanent damage. His parents forbid him from leaving, making him the caregiver of the household since that was an omega’s job was to cook and clean and take care of the children. They weren't allowed to have lives because their life was the home. 

 

Oliver hated it. 

 

He hated it with a passion because the things his mother was doing previously before he presented she completely stopped ordering Oliver to do it. 

 

Oliver, of course didn’t hate his sub gender, he thought omegas were quite strong and super caring and that was a good thing for where the world was going. 

 

Oliver was actually settling in to his day to day life of home school (his parents took him out the school he was previously in and started homeschooling him) and cooking and clean, soon coming to love it in his own way but a startling sense of reality came rushing in, in the form of his gege’s call from Korea… 

 

He was debuting, he told his parents he was preparing right now. 

 

He was finally making his dream come true.

 

Oliver felt like he was stabbed with a million and one chopsticks as he realized he still wanted to be an idol, despite his parents saying he wouldn’t make it, omegas are too fragile to handle such a fast paced and competitive atmosphere. 

 

Oliver wanted to prove them wrong. His grandma from his mother's side who didn’t view omegas in the same light his parents and his father’s side did had been giving him an allowance of about 100 dollars a month since he presented to live on his own away from his parents toxic views. 

 

Oliver changed his mind and planned his getaway to Korea to pursue his dreams.

 

Oliver was 16 when he took a flight to South Korea.
