Haeun's hometown is in Seongbukdong area in Seoul, which is known as the place where the households are owned by wealthy people. So, yes Haeun comes from a wealthy family and from a well surounding area. Despites of the advantages living in a wealthy family, she grew up without a mother. Haeun's mother died when giving birth to her. So, she never had the chance to meet her mother. Growing up without a mother, Haeun finds it tough and painful sometimes especially after knowing that her mother died giving birth to her and her unidentical twin brother, but as time flies, she started accepting the fate and she learnt to be a strong girl because of that. That's why she usually celebrate her birthday by visiting her mom. Haeun's father owned a Singing & Music Class Centre in Seoul, by now he already had 4 buildings for his singing and music class. While Haeun's mother was a choreographer in Korea, which she inherit the dance talent from. While, her brother is in the modelling industry in New York.

 

Her family used to lived in United States when her dad needs to finish his studies there, which explained where she learnt to speak in English. It was hard at first, to adapt with the surrounding but slowly she started to accept the surrounding in US. Haeun lived there until she was 5 years old, before they moved back to Seoul. Other kids might spend most of their times playing around, but Haeun spent most of her childhood in her dad's company. Her dad wanted her to be a singer one day, which is why he pushed her. It was hard for her because she knew that she can't achieve what his dad is expecting her to be. As she grew up into a teenager, she started to be rebellious about it, it's not that she hated the fact that her dad wanted her to be a singer but she hated the fact that her dad keeps on pushing her and keep telling her on what to do, she just wanted to be heard that one time. So, her dad gives her some times to figure out her future, and she went into Bosung's Girl High School in her hometown for about two years and she was really active in cheerleading which slowly gaining her interest in dancing. After, she found her interest in dancing, Haeun started to dance alone to other Kpop songs in her room before she finally set her mind to become an idol and decided to move to School of Performing Art Seoul (SOPA) to achieve her dream.

 

Haeun used to be a low profile person in high school, she usually doesn't have the courage to show up in front of people and shows her talent. While her twin brother moved to New York to achieve his dream in the modelling industry, she started to slowly gaining her confidence because of jealousy, she don't want to be left behind and she started trying out auditions for CF Commercial  for her starting point. She also started to follow dancing class to sharpen her skills, which happened to be where her mother used to teach people to dance. Theres a few dance instructors there were actually her mother's friend, they said that 'Haeun's talent are really natural, she just need confidence.' and some of them  also said that 'she look exactly like her mom.' She started to gain her popularity slowly from the videos that were posted by the dancing class youtube's channel. She got recruited by BigHit agent from the dancing class's company that she was in. They asked her to come to an audition held by BigHit. Even though, she knew that she could use his father's help with his connection but she wanted to know her limits and her abilities by herself so, she asked her dad to let her achieve her dreams by her own effort. After being contacted by the agent, she went to the agency for an audition. It was her very first audition, she thought that she should give it a try.

Haeun entered Big Hit agency when she was only 15 years old. That's when everyone's inner teenager started to show, where teenagers usually wanted a freedom and just enjoy their life. But for Haeun, it's times for her to chase her dream. She wanted to show to her dad and her brother that she could be a successful idol.

 

Haeun doesn't have that much talent on her vocal even though her dad is a vocal teacher. All of the other trainees have a wider vocal range and are much better than her. She always stayed up late, practising on her vocals, she was scared that because of her vocals she couldn't debut. She knew that she couldn't do much with only her dancing and visuals. That's when she was put under Jason, V and Suga to monitor her development. Suga was the one who expose her into rapping, so that's when she started to develop her skills in rapping. Other than that, her trainee years are almost the same like the others, it was hard, there was times when they wanted to give up but they just have to stand back up again. Their first meeting are really simple, it happened during Haeun's very first commercial shoots for Polham after her debut and it also her first time being paired up with another idol. It took them some times, to get close since both are very awkward when it comes to a conversation starter. Luckily, Eunwoo are ahead of Haeun, he approached her first and both of them talked for a while until Haeun is comfortable being around him.
