humorous and quick-witted: this kid has an amazing sense of humor. sometimes he can be too savage or try to be funny at the wrong moments, but at least he's trying to brighten up the mood? he has a very quick mind so he can come up with witty answers quickly and he's also good at finding new jokes. with haitao, it's often a fun time filled with laughter. but he also makes puns that make you want to slam your head against the wall, on purpose. he likes hearing people scream over his puns. is evil.
intelligent but stupid??: this kid has an iq of 148 and is supposed to be really ing smart, then why is he so goddamn stupid? okay, yes, he's smart and is like really good at learning and thinking and , but at the same time he can just be so stupid that it again wants to make people slam their heads against the wall. man, what a harmful kid he is. somehow he can just make such stupid decisions when he's out of it cause he's such an airhead.
optimistic and energetic: this kid is a big ball of energy. he's as jumpy as his hair. in both ways. he has way too much energy and spends lots of time jumping around and just having fun. he sees something fun even in the small things that only little kids would have fun with. he also has the attention span and mindset of a child. he always tries to stay positive and tries to keep others positive as well! but he sometimes has way too much energy, especially when he's exhausted, he becomes really hyper and it can be a real pain to have a hyper haitao at 3 am.
cowardly: it's seriously so funny how this kid gets scared of literally everything. he gets startled at every strange and loud noise. he doesn't really have any specific big fear or phobia, but he's just so damn jumpy that it's sometimes a pain, but often hilarious.
arrogant and cocky: haitao has the looks, fame and the intelligence. he does have the skills to be rightfully arrogant, but he can really take it too far without realising. he loves to brag when he does something good, he just can't shut up about himself sometimes and because of his intelligence, he sometimes puts himself above others. when he gets put into his place though, he'll apologise and realise what he did was wrong, until he does it again.
airheaded: this is probably the reason why haitao can be so stupid. he really gets lost sometimes and can easily drift off in his thoughts. he can sometimes go to a room and then forget why he was in that room. he can remember something, and five seconds later it would be forgotten completely. it's odd, but he's really trying to remember everything.
BACKGROUND : haitao was born in your average chinese family. he was the only child. haitao was supposed to have a normal life just like his parents, but that soon proved to not be true. his parents thought he was a dumb child, until he read his first word at the age of 2. his parents immediately went crazy and sent the child to several doctors to see what was going on. after stressful tests, it was proven that this young boy had a high iq, very high, but he just didn't always show it because his head was foggy. haitao was a lovely child, but especially very tiring to deal with. and so it remained that way.
his parents always tried to make haitao focus on studying so he could become like a rich lawyer or doctor, but haitao never liked that. yes, he did study english in a whim, but that was because he wanted to be able to watch his favourite shows, anime. he also liked music shows, and it was what sparked his interest the most. music. haitao really liked the melodies, and his intelligence really showed in the music, being able to detect melodies, notes in chords and more like that. it was like his high iq was only meant for his ears and voice. he always had this lovely voice color that remained throughout the years, and his vocal teacher predicted that he would do very well as idol. he looked great as well, and had personality.
while his parents were originally against it, haitao became a trainee when he was 14. in china. two years later, in 2014, he debuted with his group, trs (they weren't very good with group names and so am i! kill me.). they released four songs in total, but while they were very popular, the company didn't know how to deal with them, and their ceo decided to disband them without any warning in 2017, and abandoned the company. the three boys were completely lost, because it was all so sudden. one of them decided to call it quits and went on to live a normal life, but haitao and libao wanted to go on. they both applied to participate in idol producer as individual trainees. while he was idol and participant in idol producer, he was also known as cosplayer and model.
idol producer was odd for the two, but they had a great time performing on stage and making new friends. they were very popular, both have even been in the top 9 in at least one elimination. libao ended up at #12. haitao's final rank was a big upset. he had been in the top 9 all this time, everyone expected him to debut, but the sudden rise of lin yanjun in the final meant that there was a drop-out too, and that was xu haitao, who ended up at #10. the sadness haitao felt was unbelievable, until he started to get better offers from other companies. he first joined yuehua, then he trained in banana culture, but nothing fit him. his parents wanted him to stay in china, but haitao didn't want it in china anymore, he felt like he had seen everything of china, and so he went to korea, where the industry was already stable. and that's how he ended up here, in sunlight. just a month before debut, he suddenly came to audition, and of course sunlight would take such a big star in china under their wings, the publicity could be unbelievable. and he has talent, that's for sure. but if the trainees were so happy that a new powerhouse and popular guy took their place and immediately joined necalli's line-up? i don't think so... evil tongues even whisper that he's a position thief.
