Hwang Kinam was born on the 25th of February 1992 in Seoul, South Korea to Hwang Joowon (father) and Hwang Minjung (mother). His parents were only in Seoul on a short visit as the family lived in Singapore due to Kinam´s father being an ambassador at the embassy of Korea in Singapore. And so Kinam grew up in Singapore with English as his first language. However his parents didn´t want him to forget his roots and as such they would speak Korean at home.
Kinam lived a fairly average childhood. He went to school, got decent grades, had good friends. Really nothing special. Until he became a teenager that is. Growing up in Singapore was hard for Kinam as a teenager due to their views of the LGBT community. As he grew into his teen years Kinam started realizing that perhaps he wasn´t as straight as he had always assumed. And this lead him into somewhat of a panic. His grades started slipping. He hung out less and less with his friends. He was afraid they would judge him and be mean if they found out about him being attracted to males as well as females. And so pulling away from them was easier and ensured he wouldn´t get hurt. However this hiding made Kinam miserable. A social creature by nature, not being around people made him utterly miserable and in the end this is what forced him to be open about himself. He found solace in music though and would spend a lot of his time writing down his thoughts while listening to music. However this change didn´t happen until Kinam at the age of 18 moved to Korea on his own. He wanted to learn about the country he was from and the culture and figured moving there would be a good opportunity. And so he packed his bags and moved from Singapore, the place he had grown up and spend all of his life to Korea. He moved to Seoul and instantly fell in love with the city and the people. He felt at home and this is also why he even today regards Seoul as his home town despite growing up in Singapore.
Being a Korean citizens Kinam had to go through his mandatory military duty and figured getting that out of the way as soon as possible would be good. It would also help him to learn about the customs and general way of being in Korea and this would come in handy for him later on he figured. And so he enlisted as a non-active duty personnel (a public service worker) and here he spent the next 2 years. He was forced to hide his uality throughout his enlistement, but he knew it was for his own good and so despite not liking it, he did it.
The military had changed Kinam. While it had indeed made him much more aware of Korean customs and especially the differences in the way you speak to people of different ranks in Korea, it had also taught him the value of being true to himself. To live his truth. While in the military he had been living a lie he felt as he couldn´t be honest about his ual identity. And so the moment he was discharged, he woved to never keep his uality hidden again. This would be a promise he would go on to break when he made it in the khiphop scene, however he figured he´d have a better shot at making it if he didn´t come out.
He met Christian, Scott and the rest of the DPR crew and they hustled. At this point Kinam didn´t really take music seriously. It was nothing but a hobby for him. He didn´t realize that music was what he wanted to do until he released Till I Die. Till I Die gave him the opportunity to realise that he truly and lastingly wanted to work in music. More than a simple track, it became a statement, a statement towards his fans, towards himself that his future was nowhere else except in rap.
As time went on without his fans knowing about his ual identity Kinam started feeling like he was living a lie. A lot of his songs were about girls. It wasn´t news to the other DPR guys that he was bi, but Kinam was scared how the general public would react especailly with his newfound fame. But in April of 2017 following the release of his Coming To You Live album Kinam couldn´t stand it anymore. He wanted, no needed, to be authentic with his fans. And so he posted a tweet on his DPRLive Twitter that simply read: "I´m bi. Deal with it. Or not I don´t care."
The Tweet caused mass amounts of talk between DPR fans. But most of them were supportive and said nothing but words of praise and support for his coming out, especially with uality and being non-heteroual veing such a taboo subject both in Korea, but also generally in hiphop. And the ones that didn´t support him? Well really what did Kinam need them for anyway? Wasn´t his stagename about living life to the fullest as well as staying faithful to himself? And that was exactly what he was doing when he took the plunge and came out. Living his truth.

STAGE NAME DPR Live - He had to pick a stagename and well... DPR Live just felt right. Live because it reminds him to live his life fully, both in failure and success, ups and down, but also to remain faithful to himself. DPR because it´s not only his label but also his family.(I had to give him a stagename considering he´s a khiphop artist and with "Coming to you Live" being a part of ALL of Dabin´s songs... Changing the stagename felt wrong)

The story of Dream Perfect Regime is also a story of friendship. It´s the story of DPR+Ian (Real name: Christian Yu/Yu Barom) and DPR Live´s friendship. The two met in Seoul in 2012 not long after Kinam had come back from serving his military duty and the two instantly clicked. And then the duo became a trio when Christian met Scott (Who would go on to be known as DPR Rem) and slowly, but surely the other 4 members of Dream Perfect Regime joined the group (5 of the 7 members of DPR are mentioned in the relationships - I couldn´t find very much info on the last two)
Kinam who had always had a passion for music released his very first track Till I Die on the 27th of July 2015 on Soundcloud under the name DPR Live. The Music video, produced and edited by none other than the DPR crew themselves, went live on YouTube on the 22nd of August 2015.
And then the group of at the time 7 people met Kim Hyung Mo or Cream from the group LAYBACKSOUNDS who joined the DPR crew, completing their circle to be 8 people.
The road to Kinam´s first release had not been easy however. They started out with nothing. No investors, no equipment, nothing. And for the first two years DPR was nothing but a visual team (From 2013 until the release of Till I Die in 2015) DPR Ian and DPR Rem worked so hard shooting for other artists to help fund their own projects through Dream Perfect Regime. Hadn´t it been for them, DPR would have never become a thing.
And then Eung Freestyle a collaboration between Kinam, Sik-K, Punchnello, Owen Ovadoz and Flowsik was released on April 19th 2016. The song had the task of giving more visibility to the Korean Rap scene, to show the world the extent of the Korean rappers’ skills. It’s a fact that in 2015 the KHip-Hop wasn’t as known worldwide as it is today. Eung Freestyle became Kinam´s way into the spotlight. The song is an adaptation of "mmm Freestyle" by the crew Hott Headzz. The producers Groovy Room reworked the original instrumental and the visuals for the music video were once again made by the DPR Crew themselves. The song ended up becoming quite the success both nationally in Korea, but also worldwide.
Driven by the success of Eung Freestyle Kinam collaborated with Punchnello once more on the track God Bless which was released on June 1st, 2016.

Coming To You Live was released on March 15th 2017 with the songs Cheese and Wine, Laputa (ft Crush), Right Here Right Now (ft Jay Park and Loco), Know Me (ft Dean), Please (ft Dumbfounded, G2 and Kim Hyo-Eun), Interlude and To Myself. The features on this album were big names within the Korean urban scene and this was in part made possible through DPR Ian and DPR Rem´s reputation that they had earned through working with other artists and also in part by the success of Eung Freestyle.
2017 was a busy year for Kinam. He´d go on to release his second EP HER on the 7th of December 2017 with 5 songs: Your Name (Intro), Jasmine, Text Me, Is You Down and Martini Blue. This album and the crews hard work was rewarded when the HER EP ranked at number 8 on Billboard’s World Album Chart. But the series of succeses the crew had also meant that the crew were now able to get their own production studio.
He started 2018 with a feature on Suzy´s solo song Holiday which was released on January 29th 2018. And then the single Action! was released on March 13th. And then on June 12th 2018 Playlist was released. 2018 ended with the CTYL tour. The first world tour from Kinam and the crew. It was an opportunity for the crew to meet their fans, to thank them by offering a sincere and unforgettable performance; more like a sort of family meeting than a concert.
DPR Cream has his solo debut on July 5th 2019 with the songs Color Drive and Problems from his DPR debut album The Voyager 737. However Kinam is generally spending his time working on new music to be released for his fans.

IDOL HISTORY
The story of Dream Perfect Regime is also a story of friendship. It´s the story of DPR+Ian (Real name: Christian Yu/Yu Barom) and DPR Live´s friendship. The two met in Seoul in 2012 not long after Kinam had come back from serving his military duty and the two instantly clicked. And then the duo became a trio when Christian met Scott (Who would go on to be known as DPR Rem) and slowly, but surely the other 4 members of Dream Perfect Regime joined the group (5 of the 7 members of DPR are mentioned in the relationships - I couldn´t find very much info on the last two)
Kinam who had always had a passion for music released his very first track Till I Die on the 27th of July 2015 on Soundcloud under the name DPR Live. The Music video, produced and edited by none other than the DPR crew themselves, went live on YouTube on the 22nd of August 2015.
And then the group of at the time 7 people met Kim Hyung Mo or Cream from the group LAYBACKSOUNDS who joined the DPR crew, completing their circle to be 8 people.
The road to Kinam´s first release had not been easy however. They started out with nothing. No investors, no equipment, nothing. And for the first two years DPR was nothing but a visual team (From 2013 until the release of Till I Die in 2015) DPR Ian and DPR Rem worked so hard shooting for other artists to help fund their own projects through Dream Perfect Regime. Hadn´t it been for them, DPR would have never become a thing.
And then Eung Freestyle a collaboration between Kinam, Sik-K, Punchnello, Owen Ovadoz and Flowsik was released on April 19th 2016. The song had the task of giving more visibility to the Korean Rap scene, to show the world the extent of the Korean rappers’ skills. It’s a fact that in 2015 the KHip-Hop wasn’t as known worldwide as it is today. Eung Freestyle became Kinam´s way into the spotlight. The song is an adaptation of "mmm Freestyle" by the crew Hott Headzz. The producers Groovy Room reworked the original instrumental and the visuals for the music video were once again made by the DPR Crew themselves. The song ended up becoming quite the success both nationally in Korea, but also worldwide.
Driven by the success of Eung Freestyle Kinam collaborated with Punchnello once more on the track God Bless which was released on June 1st, 2016.

Kinam lives a fairly normal life. At least as normal as can be for a khiphop idol. He´s fairly recognized when he goes out, but not the point where he has crazy obsessed stalked fans. Generally has a pretty good work-life balance and the time he doesn´t spend working he either spends with Sanghoon at the AOMG building in Sanghoon´s studio, at Sanghoon´s place, at home, at the gym (usually with Christian) or just at the DPR studio hanging out but not working where they´ll also all gather to watch reaction videos to their music. On weekdays he´ll wake up at around 9 and shower and eat breakfast before heading off to the DPR studio to work with the guys on whatever project they´re working. Depending on what that is he usually goes home to eat, they order delivery to the DPR studio or he drops by the AOMG building and either drops off food for himself and Sanghoon taht they´ll eat in Sanghoon´s studio or the two go home to either Sanghoon or Kinam to enjoy a meal together. Sanghoon is the cook in the relationship so no matter if they´re at Kinam´s or Sanghoon´s place he´s the one to cook. The two generally try to be seen too much together and if they are they´ll usually play it off as just the two of them hanging out as Sanghoon isn´t out and doesn´t want to be outed. On weekends Kinam also often sleeps until around 9 where he wakes up and goes directly to the gym often meeting up with Christian there and the two spend a good hour or two working out together. The two will then shower at the gym before heding out to grab breakfast (or brunch depending on how long they´ve stayed at the gym for) together before Kinam goes to spend his weekends either at home just relaxing or with Sanghoon at either of their places also just relaxing.

Christian and Kinam have been friends for years. They see eachother like family much like the rest of the DPR crew. Generally the two spend a lot of their time being complete weirdos and ing around. They work well together as they´re both very passionate about what they do, but they also play well with Christian and Kinam spending a lot of their time either working out together or even just jamming to Kinam´s music. They even have a shared interest in dance and have made up a small choreography to Kinam´s song Playlist. Christian also often joins Kinam on stage and the two have a lot of fun together. Christian is also extremely annoying and likes teasing the other DPr crew members, Kinam included.
Kyung Mo or just Cream as he goes by is the main producer of most of Kinam´s songs. He´s not very well known and is a quiet guy, however that doesn´t mean he isn´t just as fun to be around as the rest of the DPR Crew. He´s a creative and extremely sweet guy and he often participantes in whatever shenanigans Scott, Christian, Cline and Kinam do or he watches and laughs at them. He´s passionate about what he does, but generally he´s a quiet guy who prefers to stay out of the spotlight and let Kinam get his sucess. However he also sees the DPR crew as family and sees the guys as his younger brothers and he´s often seen teasing Kinam a lot.
Scott is a character. He´s hilarious and the perfect guy to go to if you want a laugh. Put him, Christian, Kinam and Cline in a room together and you´re guaranteed to be laughing until your stomach hurts. They can often be seen teasing eachother and generally just ing about doing whatever the hell they want. Again, Scott is like family to Kinam and they treat eachother that way. In particular Christian likes to annoy Scott by constantly saying his name out loud whenever Scott is doing something.
Cline is Kinam´s cousin. He´s funny as hell and is mostly known for being a part of Kinam´s music videos for Playlist and Please as well as often joining Kinam on stage whenerv they play on stages. He´s a very weird guy, but he´s also very loved mostly because he´s so funny. Seriously if you ever need to laugh so hard you cry Cline is your guy. Him and Kinam generally just around, however Cline is also the perpetual bully victim in DPR. He gets bullied by literally everyone except Jaean.
Jaean is Kinam´s manager and also the former manager of Christian´s kpop group C-Clown. He´s known for taking pics of Kinam and for driving him places. He´s never really in the spotlight, but he´s an invaluable part of DPR because without him Kinam would never be where he needs to be.
She´s really more of Sanghoon´s friend than Kinam´s. But you know... Sanghoon adores her and sees her like his daughter. And so Kinam lives with her presence (Name links to blogpost).
Sanghoon´s relationship with her: With Angel being AOMG Sanghoon has known her for some time now. They first met when Sanghoon, out of a sense of resonsibilty as the experienced senior to the girls, visited their practice. At first he found the girls´ and their bubbly personalities to be quite intimidating due to his shyness. As an INFP and quite reserved he normally has a hard time feeling comfortable around people however Angela´s personality made it easy for him to feel relaxed and comfortable. He´s grown to be sort of a maternal figure for the younger girl as she doesn´t have one in Korea. He wants to be the person that she goes to for emotional advice and he´s also there to support her in everything she does.
Kinam´s relationship with her: Kinam generally lives with Angela´s presence. The two aren´t best friends and their personalities clash quite drastically. Their relationship is dominated by a push and pull dynamic, but they try to be civil for the sake of Sanghoon. Although it doesn´t always go that way.

Jay is more Sanghoon´s friend than Kinam´s. Generally Kinam has a very professional relationship with the older man and harbors a lot of respect for him. Sanghoon however is basically Jay´s best friend. The two were co-CEO´s of AOMG for the longest time and Sanghoon has so much love and respect for Jay. The only thing is that Sanghoon is immensely tired of getting compared to Jay by haters. This has driven a small wedge in their otherwise amazing relationship, however Sanghoon is intent on not letting it ruin their friendship. Much like the rest of the guys of AOMG, Sanghoon and Jay are tightly knitted and generally they see eachother like brothers. And as such they will also treat eachother like brothers.
Kinam is closest to Loco out of all the AOMG guys. Their relationship is professional but they also regard eachother as friends. They talk about music sure, but also everything else. Kinam often swings by Loco´s studio whenever he´s at the AOMG building if anything to say hi. Sanghoon however is about as close to Loco as he is the rest of the guys in AOMG. He regards Loco much like he sees Jay, as his friend and borther and as such often treats Loco like his brother.
Gray is the AOMG artist Kinam knows the least. He produced Action! for Kinam in 2018, but their relationship is strictly professional. They say hello when they meet, but they wouldn´t spend hours talking about things unless said things are music. However Kinam still respects Gray a lot. Generally Sanghoon and Gray are pretty damn close. They´ve worked together very, very often and get along very well. He´s easy to get along with. Much like both Loco and Jay, Sanghoon sees Gray as his brother, however the two are much moer playful together than Loco and Sanghoon or Jay and Sanghoon are.

This lends itself to an incredibly resilient attitude in the face of hardship, however Sanghoon has a habit of taking his idealism too far, and this sets him up for disappointment as, again and again, evil things happen in the world. This is true on a personal level too, as Sanghoon tends to not only idealize his partners, but idolize them, forgetting that no one is perfect.
He has no real interest in having power over others and he doesn´t much care for domineering attitudes. He much prefers a more democratic approach and he works hard to ensure that every voice and perspective is heard. He seeks value and harmony in everything he does.
He lives by a live-and-let-live attitude. He dislikes being constrained by rules and this is where him and Kinam have something in common. Sanghoon however also tends to give the benefit of the doubt and so long as his principles and ideals aren´t challenged he supports others´ right to do what they believe is right.
Sanghoon combines his visionary nature with his open-mindedness and this allowes him to see things from unconventional perspectives. He´s able to connect far-flung dots into a single theme and this helps him immensely whenever he writes lyrics or produces. He´s generally a very creative person.
When something catches Sanghoon´s imagination and speaks to his beliefs he goes all in and dedicates his time, energy, thoughts and emotions to said project. He´s the first to lend a helping hand if it´s needed and asked of him.
Sanghoon has the benefit of his far-reaching vision to help him through when things get tough and where others would focus on the challenges of the moment and perhaps give up. Knowing that what he´s doing is meaningful for other people gives Sanghoon a sense of purpose and also encourages him to accomplish the things he believes in.
However Sanghoon is also too altruistic. He sees himself as selfish because he wants to give so much more than he´s able to. And this becomes a self-fulfilling profecy as he pushed himself to commit to a chosen cause or person and forgets to take of the needs of others in his life and even himself.
He´s also quite impractical. When something catches his imagination he neglects practical matters like day-to-day maintenance and the simple pleasures in life. If he´s producing or writing lyrics and is really into it he will forget to eat and/or drink and will need to be reminded of this.
he´s generally so focused on the big picture that he forgets that the forest is made up of individual trees. This is where him and Kinam compliment eachother quite well. Sanghoon is also in tune with emotions and morality and it´s a challenge for him when the data and facts contradicts his ideals.
generally Sanghoon is private, reserved and self-conscious and this makes him extremely difficult to get to know. And his need for these qualities often contributes to the feeling of guilt he has for not giving more of himself to those he cares about.

Kinam first met Sanghoon in late 2016 when he worked with Jay Park and Loco for his song Right Here Right Now for his Coming To You Live album that would go on to be released in March of 2017. The pair met eachother at the AOMG building when Kinam was there to talk with Jay and Loco about the song and at first the two said nothing but hello to eachother before going their sepearte ways. However Kinam met him again at the AOMG building after he was asked to feature on Loco´s song Movie Shoot in 2017 and Kinam and Sanghoon ended up talking mainly about their music when Sanghoon dropped by Loco´s studio while Kinam was there. Kinam respected Sanghoon and his skills before they met and he had the biggest celebrity crush on the older man before he met him, something that was made even worse when he actually met him. But Kinam knew nothing about Sanghoon´s uality. Sanghoon found Kinam interesting however he was also a little overwhelmed because of the youngers outgoing personality. The two however exchanged phone numbers, but at first their relationship was strictly professional. Sanghoon congratulated Kinam when his Coming To You Live album was released, but the two didn´t text often.
When Kinam came out to the public, Sanghoon was one of the first people to text him with words of both praise for his bravery and support before he himself told Kinam about his uality. The two bonded after this over the fact that being queer in the hiphop community and especially being queer in the KOREAN hiphop culture wasn´t easy and that this was the reason why Sanghood had no intentions of ever coming out to the public. Their relationship developed from them texting to Kinam dropping by the AOMG building to hang out with Sanghoon and the two of them generally hanging out in their free time. And slowly but surely Kinam started developing feelings for the shy older man.
It took a while for Sanghoon to come to terms with the fact that he was actually falling for Kinam. But slowly but surely he started realizing and coming to terms with it however he was too shy and reserved to really do anything about his feelings. And so was Kinam. At least until the day Loco caught him on his way into the AOMG building and told him to just kiss Sanghoon already because it was obvious to everyone that the two of them liked eachother. At this point they´d known eachother for a good year and a half to two years. And Kinam went straight to Sanghoon´s studio and did just that. Sanghoon was surprised and extremely shy afterwards however on the inside he was also ecstatic. Their relationship hasn´t changed much because while they aren´t in a steady relationship they really do act like it around the people that know about their ualities. They might as well be with the way they act around eachother and how much they see eachother, but neither has dared ask the other to go steady yet. They´re basically stuck in the "dating" stage except because they´re at least kind of famous they don´t really go out on dates.
I mean I´d love to see the two of them end up happily ever after, but Sanghoon´s feelings about coming out to the public might also cause problems in their relationship and eventually make them split up? Sanghoon´s idol path started on November 6th 2012 when he debuted with his very first album. SNL League begins. At this point he was under Amoeba Culture and the album had 10 songs on it. These were: Intro, Eh Hey, Complex x3, Cheerz, Hero, Stay Cool, No More, Body Rock, We Got and Gettin´ Better. His debut went relatively under the radar especially with him being a hiphop based artists. He did manage to collaborate with a few bigger names in the khiphop world, but khiphop wasn´t mainstream and so the genearl public had no idea who he was. In 2013 however Sanghoon released a Diss Track called Control taht would go on to gain him both popularity and respect within the khiphop community. Also in 2013 Sanghoon left Amoeba Culture. And then nothing was heard about him for about a year until his name popped up in connection with Jay Park´s new record label AOMG. Not only was Sanghoon signed under said company he was also co-CEO. He featured on a few songs in 2014 in particular with Jay Park, Crush and Gray, but didn´t release any new music himself until the 21st of August 2015 when he released his first EP Won and Only. This EP had only 3 songs (Simon´s version has four, but it doesn´t make sense for Sanghoon to have a song called Simon Dominic - so). Won And Only ft Jay Park, a remastered version of Money Don´t Lie and Lonely Night ft ELO (Gray remix). This album is what tipped the scales for Sanghoon and made his name known to the general Korean population.
During 2016 Sanghoon took part in the hiphop TV show Show Me The Money which was on it´s fifth season as a judge and producer alongside fellow AOMG artist Gray (Obviously replacing Simon). He´d also feature on a song from an actual idol. Hathaway (Tiffany - Kinda a collab with iheartswag) released Heartbreak Hotel and this song was the one which featured Xian.
2017 was a fairly uneventful year for Sanghoon. He featured on a few songs from some of the heavy hitters within khiphop but generally he stayed out of the spotlight for the whole year. He was focusing on himself and his music and how to make it better.
2018 was a very productive year for Sanghoon. On June 15th 2018 he dropped the album Darkroom. This album consisted of 8 songs all of which Sanghoon had taken part in the production of. These were: Roommates Only, 06076, Winterlude ´17, Jung Jin Chul, Bathtub, Demolition Man, Home Sh*t Home and Ullah. The album was a moderate success. Not as succesful as Won and Only, but also not a complete failure. Then on July 25th 2018 he dropped a song that would at first be taken like a diss track for one of his best friends. The song was called Me No Jay Park and in fact it wasn´t a diss track. It was Xian admitting to his own faults and stepping down from his position as co-CEO of AOMG.
Then on December 30th 2018 he released the single Simon Says. His 2019 so far has been dominated by features on others songs.
