APPEARANCE : 

— Minki is beautiful. There is no other way to put it. His features are very feminine and this is something that´s only exaggerated by his choice of having long blonde hair. Naturally, his hair is black and he has experimented with pink hair and yellow highlights in his blonde hair. Generally, though he prefers his hair to be blonde and often has it up in a ponytail. He isn´t averse to dyeing his hair black though and has had very long black hair in the past that he absolutely loved and would go back to. He´s also a VERY small guy, coming in at 162 cm and just under 50 kg. In general, his build is perfect for a dancer. He´s slim, some might even say skinny, but still strong without much muscle definition, but enough to have slight abs (Think something along the lines of Taemin or Ren himself during their Good Bye Bye promotions). Minki has no tattoos, only a couple ear piercings, and a tongue piercing. He would however love to get more. He has two lobes as well as an anti-tragus on both ears (Literally the only picture I could find with these three piercings and no more was of V so you´re getting that for reference.) He only wears his tongue piercing whenever there are no chances at all of him getting photographed or filmed because the company he´s under feels that it ruins his sweet image (I´m not gonna add a picture for this, cause it´s literally just you average silver barbell with a ball on each side.)

FASHION STYLE :

— Minki knows he´s pretty and looks feminine and he takes full advantage of it with how he dresses. Because he looks so feminine, Minki often plays it up and tends to dress androgynous with some clothing articles that are cut in a more traditionally feminine way. He also plays up his feminine looks by having long hair, as mentioned in the appearance section, but also likes nail art (Ren in “Sleep Talking” and “Face” era nail art). That doesn´t mean he can´t dress more masculine as well and he certainly does at times, usually opting for very simply, but still very well put together outfits. He doesn´t have any set color-preference, but if often seen in black. He is also all for accessorizing and often wears bracelets, rings, or both.  Minki is absolutely fashionable and some might even describe him as a fashion icon. He also tends to wear makeup, even when he doesn´t have schedules. Nothing major, but usually at least bb-cream and some either smudged eyeliner or black shadow around his eyes, however he will let the makeup artists go wild on him when they´re going to shows and the like. He doesn’t mind heavy makeup and will often even ask the makeup-artists to go heavier on his eyes (if the concept fits with heavy eye-makeup that is) as he knows he can pull it off.

Minki´s personality can be split into two. His real personality and how he actually is and then his “on stage” personality, resulting from the image that has been pushed on him by the company and the fans.
Off stage personality:
Minki is a character. To him life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. He likes to talk about what is – or better yet, to just go out and do it and he leaps before he looks, fixing his mistakes as he goes, rather than sitting idle, preparing contingencies and escape clauses. He lives in the moment and dives into the action –he is the eye of the storm. He enjoys drama, passion, and pleasure, not for emotional thrills, but because it’s so stimulating to his logical mind. He is forced to make critical decisions based on factual, immediate reality in a process of rapid-fire rational stimulus response. This also means that school was very tough for Minki. Not because he isn´t smart, but the regimented, lecturing approach of formal education is just so far from the hands-on learning that he enjoys. Also problematic is the fact that to Minki it makes more sense to use his own moral compass than someone else’s. Rules were made to be broken is Miki´s personal belief. Minki is full of passion and energy, complemented by a rational, if sometimes distracted, mind. Inspiring, convincing and colorful, he is a natural group leader, pulling everyone along the path less traveled, bringing life and excitement everywhere he goes. Bold & direct: Minki is full of energy and there is no greater joy to him than pushing boundaries and discovering and using new things and ideas. He likes provoking and loves to see the response it gets out of people. He also doesn´t take from anyone and will call you out if you say something he doesn´t agree with. He prefers to communicate clearly and likes direct and factual questions and answers. Facts are more important to him than feelings or emotions, which means he can come across as kind of an at times. He finds emotional situations awkward and uncomfortable and his direct way of being doesn´t help. He has a lot of trouble acknowledging and expressing his own emotions. Most people would call him emotionally constipated, which is absolutely true.
Rational & practical: Minki is also very rational and practical. He loves knowledge and philosophy, but not for his own sake. What is fun for him is actually finding ideas that are actionable and then drilling into the details so he can put them to use. If a discussion is completely arbitrary, there are so many better uses for Minki´s time. This also means that he hates small talk and avoids it as much as humanly possible. It bores him to death.
Original: Minki loves experimenting with new ideas and new solutions. He puts things together in ways nobody else would think to do and comes up with creative and original solutions to problems. He´s very much a doer and an action-oriented problem solver. He is very much in his element when there is a crisis requiring urgent action, as he will think of a way to solve the crisis very quickly in a way that nobody else would be able to.
Perceptive: His originality and ability to come up with new ideas and new solutions is very much helped by the fact that Minki is extremely perceptive. He notices when things change, but also when they need to change. This combined with him being bold and direct, means he isn´t afraid to speak up and say something when he feels that something needs to change. He is an avid supporter of the LGBT+ community and often voices his opinions on these topics. He´s also not afraid to voice his opinions on the South Korean government and the thing he criticizes the most is the pressure put on many South Korean children to do amazing in school. Small changes in habits and appearances stick out to Minki and he uses these observations to help create a connection to others.
Sociable: Overall Minki is a sociable creature. He´s an outspoken extrovert to the max, and a natural born leader, although this isn´t something her actively seeks. He´s just good at making excellent use of social interactions and networking opportunities and is very good at convincing others about what he believes. Minki would love to be an inspiration to people and this is something he actively tries to achieve.
Self-assured to the point of arrogance: Minki is extremely self-assured. Despite his young age, he knows who he is, what he wants, and what he believes in. He believes that his opinions are the right ones and seeks to educate people on what he believes is right.
Impatient: Minki moves at his own pace to keep himself excited. Slowing down because someone else “doesn’t get it” or having to stay focused on a single detail for too long is extremely challenging for him.
Risk-prone: This impatience sometimes causes Minki to push into uncharted territory without thinking of the long-term consequences. He sometimes intentionally combats boredom with extra risk.
Demanding: This impatient-ness also causes Minki to be very demanding. As he doesn´t slow down, this means he demands a lot of the people around him especially in regards to teaching choreography to s. He isn´t good at slowing down and teaching them, but has a tendency to keep pushing on in his own tempo and this means that he often demands that the members learn choreography as quickly as he does, which is almost impossible for someone who hasn´t danced for 90% of their life like Minki has.
Unstructured: Minki sees an opportunity – to fix a problem, to advance, to have fun – and seize the moment, often ignoring rules and social expectations in the process. This may get things done, but it can create unexpected social fallout.
Defiant & rebellious: As mentioned Minki thinks rules are made to be broken. He won’t be boxed in. Repetition, hardline rules, sitting quietly while getting lectured isn’t how Minki lives his life. He is action-oriented and hands-on. If you try to push him into a box or set rules for him, all he will do is get upset and break those rules in the biggest and most dramatic way he can.
Doesn´t think things through: Minki tends to act too quickly, without thinking things through, and focusing too much on the current task at the expense of longer term or interpersonal issues. If he is caught up in an immediate crisis, he misses the forest for the trees, nor takes account of the sensitivities of others. He also has a tendency to turn to a new problem before the last one has been fully completed.
Misses the bigger picture: Minki lives very much in the moment and this causes Minki to miss the forest for the trees. He loves to solve problems here and now, perhaps too much. All parts of a project can be perfect, but the project will still fail if those parts do not fit together.

On stage personality:
Because Minki is the youngest member of Insert group here, and because of his pretty looks, Minki has been pushed by the company and by his fans into being a very sweet, soft, and cute person when on stage. He isn´t viewed in the same light as the older members and this is something that frustrates him tremendously. He knows however, that if he decides to just say screw it to his image, he will end up being forced to leave B.A.P. And despite not actually wanting to be an idol at first, he isn´t going to scew up his chance now that he finally has it. Therefore, he lives with it. On stage and on vaerity shows he often acts cute and like the perfect dongsaeng, always doing what he´s told by the older members, and always using formal language and never forgetting his honorifics. Not even if the group plays the age-swap game, will Minki, stop using honorifics. It may be a game, and the purpose of the game may be for the younger members to drop honorifics, but Minki refuses to play always calling the older male members “Hyungnim/hyung”, the older female members “Noonim/noona”, older idols "sunbae/sunbaenim" and so on. He´s polite and has an aura of elegance and refinedness that comes from his many years in the industry. 

BACKGROUND : Hwang Minki was born in Mokpo city, South Korea on Christmas day (December 25) 1995. He was an only child in a family that missed nothing and was fairly well off.
Minki is very much what you would call a child of the industry. He was in Seoul with his mother to go to a family birthday party when he was just 7 years old, and they had forgotten to get a card to go along with their present, so they went into a mall to buy a card. Minki being only seven years old wasn´t allowed to stay alone in the car and followed along into the mall. Here a scout from SM Entertainment immediately took notice of Minki´s looks and approached them with the proposition of giving Minki singing and dancing lessons, (I know this seems extremely young, but if SM has no qualms about approaching Krystals parents when she was just five… I don´t feel like this is something they would be against doing.) Minki had never through about becoming an idol, especially being so young, but his mother immediately thanked the scout and when they got home to Mokpo she talked it over with Minki´s dad. They decided it would be a good opportunity for the family and thus said yes on Minki´s behalf. This meant that the family relocated to Seoul and Minki started his singing and dancing lessons. And everything was going fine until Minki turned 10. However when he turned 10 Minki began questioning why his parents had forced him to start training at such a young age. He had throughout his training discovered that he had ability for dance and absolutely loved doing it, and at 10, he started skipping his vocal classes and spent that time in the practice room dancing instead of going to his vocal classes. This caused SM to cut him after just 2 weeks of him doing this. Minki´s parents were heartbroken and they pressured Minki into auditioning for another company. This was in 2005 and Minki auditioned for Cube Entertainment in order to appease his parents. He hadn´t expected to make it in, but he did and thus he began training at Cube. However, his training at Cube only lasted two years as they quickly discovered that his habit of skipping vocal classes hadn´t stopped. So they cut him as well. Minki´s parents were sad as they thought it was because Minki wasn´t good enough. But they pressured him into auditioning again. So once again, on his parents request Minki auditioned for his third company, this time being Pledis entertainment. At this point he had almost given up on making it in, but they saw his dancing talents and he made it. But Minki didn´t really want to be an idol. He was tired of the training and not having any freedom. And he knew skipping vocal classes would get him cut. While at Pledis Minki enrolled in Sunhwa Arts Middle School.  And he once again skipped vocal classes and as he had assumed, he was cut from Pledis as well after a year. Now Minki´s parents were starting to get very annoyed with him. This was the third company he had been cut from, and they now knew why he had been cut. It was because of his behavior and they felt that he was being immature and not taking his training seriously. This caused a huge argument between Minki and his parents, with Minki accusing his parents of only saying yes to the SM scout back when he was seven so they could get a famous son. Luckily, the family cleared up the air and his parents assured Minki that they had seen an opportunity to give him and had taken it. This made Minki feel a little better about the whole becoming an idol thing and he decided he would give training another go, this time taking it seriously. He had spent so much of his life training for this. And it was very hard for him to find a company that would take him, but he ended up at TS Entertainment. Here he trained for another 3 years until it was decided that he would be joining TS Entertainment´s new boygroup as the lead dancer, lead rapper and maknae. While at TS he had also enrolled in School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA) majoring in applied dance, He graduated in 2013.

Minki is the baby of B.A.P. They all adore and love him so much and treat him like he´s basically their baby. They dote over him and will pinch his cheeks, pat his head and generally treat him like a 5 year old. He´s very close to Yongguk and basically sees him as a father-figure. Yongguk is also the person Minki goes to whenever he needs any help with anything at all. (Basically - they treat him like they treat Zelo in real life)

Trainee Life : 

— Minki was scouted to SM Entertainment at the young age of seven. Because of his young age training at SM wasn´t hard as they were rather lenient on him. He discovered he had a talent for dancing and everything went fine until 2005. At 10, Minki began questioning why his parents had forced him to start training at such a young age, and he started skipping his vocal classes. This was not something SM took lightly and Minki was swiftly cut from the company. Minki´s parents were very sad about this and they pressured him into auditioning for another company and so Minki did. He auditioned for Cube. He hadn´t expected to make it in, but he did and thus he began training at Cube. They were tougher on him at Cube, mainly because he was now no longer a kid. However, his training at Cube only lasted two years as they quickly discovered that his habit of skipping vocal classes hadn´t stopped. So they cut him as well. Minki´s parents however hadn´t given up on making an idol out of Minki and they pressured him into auditioning again. So once again, on his parents request Minki auditioned for his third company, this time being Pledis entertainment. At this point he had almost given up on making it in, but they saw his dancing talents and he made it. But Minki didn´t really want to be an idol. And he trained for another 3 years until it was decided that he would be joining TS Entertainment´s new boygroup as the lead dancer, lead rapper and maknae. He was excited for the prospect of debuting, however when he learned of the company’s decision to give him a persona that was as far from him as anything gets, he thought about leaving the company. He decided once again however that he had spent too much time training to become an idol to give up. Now that he finally had the chance he´s going to take it and debut, no matter the costs.

Scandals?? : 

— 2013 / Minki of B.A.P should never have been allowed to debut / As B.A.P rises in popularity so does the knowledge that people have of their past, and some k-netz dug up Minki´s problematic past. They decided that because of his poor attitude to training in the past (The skipping vocal classes as such) he shouldn´t have been allowed to debut, because they felt that it was immature of him. Not taking into account that he was still a kid and never actually dreamt of being an idol, but was pushed into it by his parents.
— Immediately after B.A.P´s debut aka early 2012. / B.A.P´s Minki gay? / Because of his feminine looks, makeup-wearing, long hair and androgynous way of dressing rumors started up branding him as gay. It is false as he´s panual, but his uality is not common knowledge.
— 2014 / B.A.P´s Minki two-faced? / Because of the glimpses of his real personality that has at times slipped through on variety shows and how these glimpses stand in contrast to the image he has Minki has been accused of being two-faced and fake.

COMMENTS : Okay so Imma be real honest here. Doyoung isn´t my NCT bias and I´m not a HUGE NCT stan so like... I had a lot of trouble with his personality which is why it´s just in trait format but it´s basically just the personality of Doyoung IRL. If it´s a problem I´ll go back and see if I can´t write it out. Also I´m still crying over how long it took me to find a fitting purple-ish blue-ish picure of him. Because aesthetics! And the one I found isn´t even perfect which I cry over. Anyone okay so I hope you like Minki and that his personality isn´t too hard to understand. I chose Doyoung as his perfect match because I feel like the description of Doyoung´s perfect match fits the best with Minki´s on-stage personality. Also B.A.P´s lawsuit of TS isn´t a thing for this version of them because I really didn´t want to have to write that. But TS is still a company.
