- mom was a ballerina at a young age, but an injury ripped that away from her (maybe in her teens?) she was jealous and sad, but she made it work and she worked backstage for a couple years while recovering/PT. went to school for dance, learns the ballroom stuff.
eventually went on a dancing with the stars sort of show, did marginally well.eventually opened up a studio where she gave lessons in ballroom dances. this became Daeseok's favorite place e v e r - everyone is his skinship target, but he does have his favorites (Maknae [obvious choice], Oldest Hyung [dance line], Quiet One [he just wants peace, not an octopus], Resident Mom maybe? [tbh he probably misse shis mom, give the kid a break], anyone else?)

- step-dad is much cooler about the dancing and idol thing, and even encouraged kiddo to consider rap instead of vocal (since he's kinda traumatized about the vocals following that Debacle)

hello, name. i'm sorry to pull you away from practice, but let's talk about iris. Daeseok’s default smile remains in place, perfect and toothy, but it’s clear from the tension of his shoulders and the way his smile is simply that -- polite and pasted in place -- that this isn’t a conversation he’s ready to have. He doesn’t sit, either. Not because he doesn’t want to (though he doesn’t) but because at least standing keeps him from betraying how uneasy he is about the coming conversation. “Of course,” he says. At least Daeseok’s voice is steady.
what do you think of iris? That is a good question. A very good question. An excellent question. “I think...” What does he think? And how long can he stall as he buys time to think? Daeseok’s lips purse, brow furrowing. “I think we have the potential to be really good,” he says after a long moment, words chosen with distinct care. Honesty has always been one of Daeseok’s defining qualities, and he wouldn’t risk lying to Sunmi nowof all times. But he’s not sure he wants to to know how much he’s seen, and how much he knows, and how insecure this all make him -- and the others. “I think that given time, Iris will do amazing things.” It’s not a new concept to add new members to a group after other members leave.” It happens to the best of them, like with 24K, Kara, Stellar. And it’s not a new concept to redebut a group after the initial group doesn’t meet success -- as with Dreamcatcher, who had originally been Minx. But somehow this feels different. Not wrong, but almost. Daeseok knows there’s resentment among the Elurra members, and insecurity among the new additions. If they can work together, they’ll be amazing, and Daeseok knows it. But if they don’t... They could also crash and burn. Elurra’s second chance, gone. His chance -- and Joshua’s, and COFFEE’s, and QUIET’s, and FANBOY’s.... Gone. “If we work together, we would be unstopable.”
i want iris to be a fresh start for the former members of elurra, and for the rest of you as well. how do you feel about debuting? do you have any concerns about the group? response
