Help -Medical Related ( Acute Urticaria )

Recently I was diagnosed with acute urticaria and i was wondering if anyone know any other way to treat it ? Besides taking medication from the doctor , is there any other way that I can go about? Lately,  I have been having the same attack - frequently . I dont really know how to explained , but it was intensed . I even got swelling on both my eyes and face . It was to the extend that I cant sleep .

I recently go for a blood test  but i need to wait for another 2 weeks before i could know the result . I took the pills and all . But it make me super drowsy.  I slept for like 1 whole day from the medication itself and yet i still feel tired.  It would be helpful if anyone can share their experience and ways to cope with it. I have been wearing long sleeves alot lately just so that it'l be less obvious.

I still dont know what triggers my attack ... and I'm not sure if we'l be able to find out just from the blood test itself .... its been causing me alot of stress lately because there were times where i cant breath .

Thank you for helping. Have a blessed day

Might be late but I happen to have the same thing especially during summer probably the heat is triggering mine. I get supper itchy on my arms and cheeks then, it turns red and swells. Antihistamine like benadryl are great! Also, whenever it start getting itchy and swelling, apply a cold towel, it relives itching and reduce swelling too.

Urticaria is caused by allergic reaction. I agree with Number9Aly you should take antihistamine meds, such as cetrizine or loratadine. But take notice if your doctor had prescribed that. Cetrizine make the patient drowsy so your doctor probably had prescribed cetrizine for you. Just take it regularly.

Then you shoukd try to remember what did you do, what did you eat before you get urticaria. Maybe you did/eat something you don't usually do/eat so you should write down anything possible to trigger the urticaria. Make a list of anything out of ordinary you have for at least one week before the onset, then try to never do it again.

Most allergic reaction I came across is because of sudden climate change such as extreme cold or because of food. You can also prevent another allergy reaction by taking anti-allergy meds regularly. Get well soon, sorry I couldn't help a lot.

Have you taken antihistamines? I have very sensitive skin and a lot of my family members have KP Keratosis pilaris and or eczema. Long story short we all have sensitive skin. Have you seen a dermatologist or an allergist yet? Your dr should refer you. Try writing on a food journal about which foods make your hives appear or worsen. Let me know what happens. Hope you feel better soon.
