creative: This is what her parents saw in her when Chaeyeon was young, and what made them put her in SM entertainment at a way too young age. Chaeyeon has a very creative mind and it comes to life in her love for music. She has a sense for producing, composing and just the understanding of music. She learns instruments  and anything else related to music very easily while she usually struggles with other subjects at school. She also draws well but hasn't really explored it yet because she is so focused on music.

"How can you not know all of GJSN after training with them for years?" - "I just didn't want to!"

Asocial but loyal: Chaeyeon is a weak person, very vulnerable. She's been hurt before, well, often not intentionally, but she already feels pain when someone ignores her for just a bit. After getting pain from her friends in elementary school because yeah children often do things without knowing how much it might hurt another, Chaeyeon decided that it was enough. She has turned into an asocial kind of person, not wanting to make many friends just because she doesn't want to be hurt. But once she is convinced that you'll be a good friend, she'll be fiercely loyal like a puppy. She'll follow you around and do almost anything you would ask her to do. This is fine, as long as she gets protected from people who act like she can trust them, but are actually planning to harm her with this. Keep a good eye on them, GJSN.

Honest and humble: Chaeyeon is known to be a good and pure person. She's someone who anyone would want to take care of and protect. She's a good girl who never lies and never brags either. She just feels like it isn't good to lie and even if she would want to lie sometimes, she's such a bad liar that she would be found out immediately, so why not just be honest and get over with it? She also stays humble, not acknowledging her own dance skill. The only skill that Chaeyeon is openly confident about is her clarinet, but she has the talent to back it up.

sensitive and emotional: Poor Chaeyeon was a crybaby since her early years. She's weak in a lot of different ways, but this is one of the ways that is obvious from the start. Chaeyeon is unable to bottle up her emotions and hide them. She shows them easily, from happiness to irritation, openly on camera and off-camera. She just can't hide them. Chaeyeon gets hurt easily, even the tiniest misunderstandings will make her cry. Chaeyeon is definitely the one that cries the most in GJSN, by boatloads. She cries so often, when she's scared, angry, happy, in awe or just sad, tears will always flow. Idols usually cry at their first win, but Chaeyeon would already cry at their first nomination or top 10 spot.

Cowardly, pessimistic and weak-willed: As said before, Chaeyeon is a very weak person. She is extremely vulnerable and needs protection to be able to succeed in life. She has zero courage, gets startled at anything and gets discouraged very fast. She's always out there saying she doesn't want to do it while tears are flowing down her cheeks. This poor child wants to be strong, but she can't be, so others have to be strong for her, and drag her along. Chaeyeon can't do it, at least not on her own. She finds her way to keep going and cheer up in music, especially classical. But the question is: what is a classical prodigy like her doing in the idol world?

background Chaeyeon was born as the second child of the family, having a big sister. Chaeyeon was a weak child who cried a lot and got sick easily, so her parents deeply cared for her, kind of ignoring her older sister. This made her sister develop a dislike for the little girl who didn't even know. Chaeyeon wanted to love her big sister, but Miyeon just hated her because she took away all the attention Miyeon wanted. Miyeon didn't really have a good personality, while Chaeyeon was a sweetheart. She still is, she just grew more cautious of who's around her, majorly because the sister she liked so much just hurt her a lot. It got worse when her parents started to favor Chaeyeon even more when she showed her creativeness and love for music in the early years. Her parents were very creative as well, so after Miyeon didn't inherit their creative minds, they were more than happy that Chaeyeon did. Their parents were loving, but also quite pushy, and the typical parents that wanted to pave the way for their children instead of letting them chase their dreams. Chaeyeon was growing up beautifully, and her parents got the idea of letting her become an idol. It would also be a great way to keep her away from Miyeon, who was growing more hateful and actually dangerous.

When Chaeyeon was only 8, she was forced to start auditioning, with her parents watching from the side. Because her parents and the judges were watching, the little child often messed up her audition and often didn't get accepted because of that. She tried YG, JYP, FNC, Cube, all that, but she didn't get accepted, until she auditioned for SM. She still messed up, but SM accepted her for her visuals. She was such a beautiful child that they expected her to grow up beautifully as well. Score. For her parents.

As Chaeyeon started training and grew up in SM entertainment, she started to get the hang of it all. Okay, she would never be exceptional at dancing or rapping, but her singing was growing so well, and all of that from scratch. It was a surprise to even the staff of SM entertainment, but it was a pleasant surprise. While they teached her everything about vocals, often getting extra vocal class together with vocal lines from other recent SM groups, Chaeyeon discovered that she loved something way different. Her favourite music genre was actually classical music. She loved to just listen to it and get lost in the beautiful and graceful world of pieces like the waltz of flowers. Some people saw it coming, with Chaeyeon's ability to play the clarinet and piano so well and beautifully. She started to behave more like the music, what she called graceful and loving. And that is what gained her the persona of GJSN's love and grace.

Little Chaeyeon was however never introduced as SMrookie, unlike her same-aged friend and 'male counterpart' Jisung (if there was someone she'd be paired up with from NCT, it would be him). Her fellow trainees thought it was a good thing, that SM was being humane for once and letting her prepare for a long long time to be on stage, but that wasn't the truth. She was actually being overworked behind their backs in the SLJK-G program, so that was actually even worse than her being SMrookie. SM put her into a headlock, afraid to lose such a gem to her dream of being classical musician. She was the center they wanted. And the center she became, putting an even bigger burden on her frail shoulders.

TRAINING Chaeyeon has struggled a lot in her trainee life, for 7 years long, being an asocial person and often being on her own outside of the trainee cliques, and also having entered at such a young age. She had to juggle elementary and middle school with trainee life, which was exhausting. She also entered without really much skills, so at the start she didn't have any confidence either. Now she has a bit of confidence in her singing, but still not much. Chaeyeon has also been losing her interest in idol life, but she decides to keep going with it, because if she leaves now she'll disappoint everyone she knows. She has decided to go for it and leave to become classical musician when the time is right. She's so different from the others that she stands out between the other trainees. At least she had a few to depend on, like Yerim and Jaemin.

Miyeon despises her sister, because she stole all the attention from her. Their parents wanted creative children, but instead of being creative, Miyeon is intelligent. Even now that she is studying to become a surgeon, all eyes are on Chaeyeon. Miyeon is extremely jealous, and while she shouldn't be hating on her little sister for this, the blame is not on her, but on her parents. Miyeon used to be really dangerous when they were younger, but she has matured and the relationship between the sisters is calming down, slowly but surely.

Park Kwonhyuk, better known as Thal, is Chaeyeon and Miyeon's cousin. He's the son of their mother's older brother. Kwonhyuk is only child, so he never had someone to play with at home, and that's why he often came over to Miyeon and Chaeyeon. He is the same age as Miyeon, but he got along way better with little Chae. He and Miyeon often clashed, and he just really wanted to protect his little cousin. Chaeyeon and Kwonhyuk have grown so close that he has become her closest friend, they're more like siblings than cousins. Kwonhyuk is intimidating (yes, even with that face), strong and fiery. He protects Chaeyeon like no one else and NCT better be on their feet because Kwonhyuk's watching them.

These two maknaes are a loved duo by their fans. Chaeyeon and Yerim have met early on in their lives while training at SM at a young age. Because Yerim is so social, she befriended Chaeyeon surprisingly quickly, while Chae doesn't really make friends that fast. Yerim just appealed to her, and she is probably her closest friend in all of SM entertainment right now. Yerim often gives Chaeyeon advice when she's not feeling good about the idol life and all that stuff.

Beomchan, better known as Blossom, used to be Kwonhyuk's groupmate and is still his best friend. They're exact opposites, but when both joined SKT T1 in late 2017, they just hit it off so well, even though Beomchan never fails to annoy Kwonhyuk. He just can't stay mad at this ball of fluff. Beomchan also got very close with Chaeyeon, he absolutely adores her and babies her so much. Chaeyeon gets annoyed by him sometimes as well, but Beomchan smiled, laughed and jumped his way around Chae and into her heart. He's constantly yelling about how he wants to meet GJSN together with Kwonhyuk and laugh his way into their hearts as well. When Chaeyeon's feeling down, Beomchan is the one that can make her laugh again.

Youngmi was of course the one who initiated contact with little Chaeyeon. She wanted to talk to the shy little trainee years ago when the project started. Chaeyeon was taken aback by Youngmi's social personality at first, but now they get along well. Youngmi is one of her closest friends in GJSN, and always makes sure to watch over little Chae, knowing how she needs the protection.

What Chaeyeon thinks about NCT (because I want to include them since they'll be around NCT a lot, but i am too lazy to include them all):

Taeil: Belle - Chaeyeon is friends with Taeil, but nothing more. She mostly knows him by his iconic halloween costume, and that's when they grew closer and got to know each other. She spent the whole time laughing at his amazing costume and the fact that Yerim was the worse Belle.
Johnny: scary - Johnny and Chaeyeon don't really know each other. Johnny does want to take care of the little baby and all, but she's just so intimidated and even scared of him. When he tries to approach her, she hides behind an older member or just runs away. Johnny doesn't understand.
Taeyong: dad - at the start, Chaeyeon was also scared of Taeyong just like how she's still scared of Johnny. But Taeyong has shown that he cares about Chaeyeon and he protected her a lot throughout the years. They've grown very close and Chaeyeon is one of Taeyong's favourite children, mainly because she isn't a noisy prick.
Yuta: not really - It's not like they're strangers, they at least get along, but they didn't get close yet. She has heard some good stuff from some other trainees though, but Chaeyeon doesn't really know if she wants to get closer to Yuta. He seems scary to her.
Kun: I love him - Chaeyeon absolutely adores Kun. They fit together, they're both calm and also shy. Kun's just too adorable in Chae's eyes. And he's a really good guy who takes care of her as well.
Doyoung: pats please - Doyoung is close to Chaeyeon. He's also one of the more calm members and understands Chaeyeon perfectly. She can go to him with her struggles and questions and Doyoung will listen and give her all the time she needs. he also loves to just pat her head and cuddle Chaeyeon to calm her down in hard times, and she absolutely loves it.
Ten: the thai guy - Ten was also a bit intimidating to Chaeyeon, since he was this foreign sassy dancer dude. Chaeyeon isn't really intimidated by him anymore but they just didn't have the chance to get close yet.
Jaehyun: the handsome one - Another one that Chaeyeon didn't get that close to yet either, but they've been talking more recently. Jaehyun just really wants to start taking care of the little baby too. He's jealous of Taeyong.
Winwin: he's cute but... - Another one that Chaeyeon isn't close with yet. She wants to, but is kind of held back by the language barrier and the lack of time.
Jungwoo: the softie - Chaeyeon likes Jungwoo a lot, because he's so nice and soft. They're just friends for now because it hasn't been long, but they're getting there.
Lucas: The wild one - Chaeyeon's sure he's a good guy, but he's just so wild, loud and out there. It's too much for poor little Chae.
Mark: the leader dude - They're friends, nothing more, nothing less. She likes him, but they didn't get close yet cause yeah Mark never rests.
Renjun: the good one - Renjun is one of Chaeyeon's closest friends in SM, probably her second favourite NCT member. They just fit together like two puzzle pieces, it's adorable how well they got along when they were young, even with the language barrier. They could communicate with their eyes, it's crazy. What calm people can do...
Jeno: another good one - Chaeyeon did took way longer to get close to Jeno than to Renjun, but they got close as well. Jeno is a lovely guy and he often babies Chaeyeon cause her smile makes him melt. She's just so cute.
Haechan: help me - Haechan? Too much. Chaeyeon is sure that he's a good kid, but he's just too much for her to handle, too wild, too loud.
Jaemin: the favourite - Chaeyeon and Jaemin are A++, seriously. They get along so well since they were young kids (they're still young kids though), and Jaemin has taken such great care of Chaeyeon and the other way around as well. When Jaemin was suffering with his back, Chaeyeon didn't feel good either. He's her second best friend in SM after Yerim.
Chenle: that one dolphin kid - Another boy that is too much for Chaeyeon. She wants to hear nice melodies, not dolphin shrieks. But she's slightly closer to Chenle than to Haechan or Lucas.
Jisung: fellow baby - these two are a pairing, the two long-time babies of SM entertainment. They both aren't really fond of being babied, sometimes, so when they don't want to be babied and cooed at, they often just stick together and hide away together. They have their own secret hideaway spot, which is literally the cutest ever. (See love interest section)

She did not get to know Hendery, Xiaojun or Yangyang well enough yet to have an opinion about them.

personality Jisung is a wild boy, but not over-the-top wild (otherwise Chaeyeon wouldn't like him as much). He's a friendly little boy who loves to just chat and have fun with others. He kind of pulled Chaeyeon out of her shell, but often she just crawls into it again. Then Jisung has to drag her out again. This keeps on happening, he always pulls Chae into the conversation to make sure to not make her feel left our or lonely. He might seem aloof to some people, but Jisung is actually a person full of love for his friends, family and the things he likes. He's a lovely boy. Chaeyeon really likes that about him. He really enjoys discovering new things and loves both art and science. He has helped Chaeyeon with her mathematics before, since she's not too good at it, and they've been in the same class for a long time already. He's also very instinctive and extremely passionate about the things he loves.

One thing about Jisung is that he's very stubborn. Almost like a child (well, he is still a child). He has always been like this, and when something doesn't go his way, he won't be happy about it. He's also very unpredictable, and it has scared Chaeyeon off sometimes. But she's used to it now since they basically grew up together. He can get over the top sometimes, and that's when Chaeyeon would rather stay away from him. Sometimes he's too wild for her after all. He also tends to worry about the little things. The amount of time he worries about Chaeyeon is surprisingly big. When they're separated, she's always on the back of his mind. Is she safe? Is she okay? Is she happy?

love story Chaeyeon came to Seoul at the young age of 8, without her parents. She was introduced as new student in Mia elementary school. She was very lonely, and didn't have any friends or family with her. One of her classmates was named Park Jisung. He tried to talk to her a few times, but she just didn't respond, so he gave up pretty soon. They kept going to the same school, but weren't in the same class. Chaeyeon wasn't always present, and Jisung noticed every time she was gone. He thought she maybe had an illness, and got worried. But after the rejection in the first year, he didn't actually dare to go ask her. She also seemed really tired lots of the times.  He was worried.

After being in the same school but not the same class for years, they were suddenly put together again. It was in Junior High, in 2013. But they only started talking when Jisung set foot in SM entertainment that year. Now he understood why Chaeyeon was gone sometimes. He gathered the courage to try befriending her again. It took a lot of effort, but it worked. He became a close friend of Chaeyeon, simply because he was always by her side. When she mysteriously disappeared for the extra training for the project, Jisung was always worried. They became some sort of partners. They were the tall babies of the trainee group, so people babied them a lot. Both of them didn't like it all the time, so they often ran away to hide. Chaeyeon thought she had a special hiding spot in the building that only she knew about. Until she found Jisung hiding there as well. There was place for two, so now it's their spot. Even though it has become a bit cramped after both suddenly grew giant. They have had interest in each other, a puppy crush. But they didn't know that the company had plans to pair GJSN up with NCT. Chaeyeon has some dreamies that she's paired with from time to time, but when they started pairing Jisung with Chaeyeon, they both felt butterflies for the first time. She's also paired up with Jaemin or Jeno sometimes, but nothing feels as nice as spending time with Jisung.
