BACKGROUND born and raised in seoul to parents struggling to make a living in korea so when she was 2 years old her parents moved to America to work for a better future. while she was left with her paternal grandmother who ran a tiny family own short menu home meal like resturant in a small neighborhood. when she was 6 years old her parents divorce and never came back. Her father would sent money and letters monthly but her mother never contacted them again. growing up she was loved by her grandmother and all the elders who often visit the shop. thus she became a little plump and round at a young age with all the tlc she recieve.

THEIR STORY it was summer of 1998, kiyong and his mother moved into the salon and started living downstairs. six year old kiyong wanted nothing to do with the snot running 5 yr old yoojin who loved following him and copying everything he did. she was a chubby child who easily pushed the skinny kiyong over. when the new year came his mother told him to be nice to yoojin because her parents had left her and would not be coming back any time soon so she needed kiyong to be a good oppa to her. from then on he felt sorry for the snot running kid who was always so happy and did not even know her parents. these two were force to do things together as kids. "i'm busy go play with yoojin" and vice versa "go play with kiyong."
going to elementary kiyong was protective of her and they got along well. when she got bullied he would stand up for her and fight her bullies as she cries watching him get beat up and then she would try to kick the bullies too for hitting kiyong. up until when he enter middle school, he didn't want to be seen with a 5th grader and espcially a girl with his friends. they had their ups and downs. he alot, ignore her, and gets upset when she wants to tag along or eat his share of food. he felt like both grandma oh and his mother loved her more so he was jealous as well. when he was a 8th grader and she kept nagging him about boy stuff so he got angry and called her fat and screamed at her that she was such a cry baby thats why her parents don't love her and left. she cried all night that day. he was whip behind the legs and punish by his mother and grounded from seeing his friends for 2 weeks. he was furious but he felt more dissappointed in himself for saying that to her.

THE TURNING POINT kiyong had actually started having feelings for yoojin when they were in middle school. sure he was a bit mean and ignore her but he gave her a lot of tough love and he was always there for her. he stay after school to "talk" to some bullies and every morning when she went to the canteen with her friends he would be in there erasing the pig drawings on her desk, "mandyoo" drawing and written names on her desk. but he was too scared to lose their friendship. so he pushed it aside. yoojin never liked him in a boyfriend way but her feelings were hurt a little when he got his first girlfriend in middle school and it was her middle school best friend!. she felt uncomfortable at first seeing the two study and laugh in his bedroom or in the restaurant but she pushed it back. he is much to scared of getting rejected by her and then having their relationship be awkward so he never said anything to her.
after her first real break up she was really down and he tried all his best to comfort her even though he was still in the military even buying her a puppy. when he discharged the two and some friends went to vacation in jeju island. the two sat by the beach talking late into the night buzzed over soju. yoojin felt needy and really needed to feel something besides saddness so she kissed him. they both have always been very comfortable with each other and they always laugh and shake their heads no when people mistaken them as a couple. but maybe its time for him to test what his feelings are actually...both of them are pretty needy in the love department and both too scared to date again so why not fix each other needs from time to time.
INTERACTIONS the way he treats yoojin is different then other girls. he is extra playful and childish with yoojin whiles with other girls he is more quiet, mature, and gentlemen like. she thinks he treats her like one of the bros because the way he acts around is like the way he acts around his guy friends. she can walk in on him half and be fine while he freaks out and coveres himself. they can walk into each other's home screaming for one another. "YOOJIN!" "KIYONG!" and goes into bedroom without knocking. they can sit on a sofa leaning on each other too close for comfort for others but to them sharing a phone watcing youtube videos on the sofa is normal. Sharing a pair of chopstick is normal, feeding one another is normal, when she is lazy she lean on him and its normal, if she had a rough day and ends up crying or if she watched a super sad movie and she cried , camping on the roof and sleeping next to each other is normal, is normal, he always given her tough love, scolding her and then secrectly showering her with love, while she use to be very dependant on him now that she is older its seems the table has turn and she ignores him or wishes to do things on her own without him watching over her shoulder. she apperciate his protective side but she needs to fight her own battles now.when ever anything exciting happens they think of telling each other first. after their little friends with benefit started they promise not to do anything in front of his mother or her grandmother because if they do not work out or if this thing becomes nothing they don't want to upset their families.
